Among the 12 documents selected for this annotated bibliography of documents and journal articles in the ERIC database is an expert's argument that the brain's multipath and multimodal capacities are ignored by educators. Another writer fears that the "back-to-basics" movement may have eclipsed the prominence earlier accorded to thinking skills. One article outlines obstacles to the effective teaching of thinking skills, and suggests five steps educators can take to improve their teaching. Other entries include a list of 11 criteria that must be met to establish a classroom environment conducive to the development of thinking skills, and a discussion of short- and long-term strategies for strengthening the teaching of critical thinking. Research contributions include a survey of 278 teachers concerning their opinions and practices regarding the teaching of problem-solving skills, and a finding that brainstorming-like sessions significantly enriched biology students' ability to inquire into scientific problems. Accounts of programs include an analysis of the kinds of thinking taught in current programs and a description of a program to teach thinking skills that identifies 34 mental activities. Also included is a description of three computer programs that generate a variety of problems for students to solve as a means of developing higher-level thinking skills. (MLF)

Service learning is a well established pedagogy within higher education. Specifically, service learning allows students to engage in "real world" activities to practice skills and reflect upon their own competence. To enhance the effectiveness of service learning, instructors need to consider a multitude of learning influences. This study adhered to the tenants of the Social Cognitive Theory (Bandura, 1986; Schunk, 2004) to engage students enrolled in a 2000 level recreation program development course in service learning activities related to entry level administrative competencies. Data analysis included a content analysis of reflection papers (n = 186) to determine how many times competencies expected of entry level recreation professionals were mentioned. Students perceived the acquisition of competencies consistent with entry level competencies identified within the recreation industry. Findings contribute to the development of effective assignments to facilitate the acquisition of desired professional competencies.

Experimental interest in anger arousal has typically been incidental or secondary to the study of aggresssion. Novaco developed a cognitive behavior therapy approach to chronic anger problems. Clinical techniques have followed the work of Meichenbaum (1974, 1975) in the development of an approach called "stress inoculation" that has been applied to anxiety and pain. Cognitive factors in the regulation of anger and the use of skills training approaches to self-control are reviewed as they pertain to the development of the stress inoculation model. The stress inoculation approach to anger management is described as having three basic steps: (a) cognitive preparation, (b) skill acquisition and rehearsal, and (c) application practice. Results of the anger managment procedures for a group of hospitalized patients are presented. The treatment was conducted on an acute psychiatric ward of a community hospital for patients, having problems with anger who were referred by the attending psychiatrist. Treatment is evaluated by means of staff behavior ratings, test inventories, self-monitored ratings of anger and ability to manage provocation, and self-report and physiological measures of anger to simulated provocations. The interface of treatment and assessment by the application practice phase is described. (Author)

this systematic review seeks to fill these gaps by comprehensively summarizing existing research on simulation for training healthcare professionals and students in crisis management in OR. It aims to delineate the various simulation methods employed, the target audiences, the specific NTS trained and the scenarios deployed, the metrics and levels of evaluation according to Kirkpatrick's model. More specifically, the research questions (RQs) are : RQ1. In what research context have simulations for managing crises in operating rooms been implemented? RQ2. What simulation methodologies have been used and how are these simulations organized? RQ3. What specific scenarios of crisis management and skills are assessed within simulations? RQ4. What are the evaluation levels as per Kirkpatrick's model?

This study aims to identify to what degree undergraduate students are able to manage the exam process to be successful in exams. The study group of the research, which utilizes the survey model, consists of 350 students in total, 185 female and 165 male, attending 4 different teaching programs in Faculty of Education, Gazi University. "The Scale of Exam application techniques", developed by Erisen and Celikoz in 2004, was applied to the study group. This 5-point Likert scale consists of 40 items about techniques used by students (1) before the exam, (2) during the exam, and (3) at the end of the exam. Three factors of the scale explain .68 of the total variance and the Cronbach's Alpha Reliability Coefficient of the scale is .95. In the present study, we compared exam process management skills of students based on variables of gender, grade and academic achievement. It was observed that opinions of undergraduate students about their exam process management skills varied according to independent variables.

For this purpose, they must not only be learning organizations, they must also be innovative. In this sense, the purpose of this study is to discover the relationship between organizational learning mechanisms at schools and innovation management skills of school administrators. Purpose of the Study: The purpose of this study is to determine high school teachers' opinions of the innovation management skills of school administrators and organizational learning mechanisms at high schools. Method: The research was conducted with the relational survey model, and 272 teachers were sampled with the random sampling method. To collect the research data, the Organizational Learning Mechanisms Scale and Scale of Innovation Management in Schools were used. The data was analyzed with frequency, percentage, standard deviation, mean, and Spearman's rho correlation analyses. Findings and Results: According to the results of the research, teachers' opinions of both the organizational learning mechanisms of their schools and their administrators' innovation management skills were medium level in total and at sub-dimensions; and there is a high-level, positive, and significant relationship between teachers' opinions of organizational learning mechanisms and the innovation management skills of school administrators.

This research is preliminary experimental research using the One-Shot Case Study. The target group consisted of 55 undergraduate students from all faculties, every level at Thaksin University who enrolled in the course Truth of Life for teachers during the second semester of the 2019 academic year. The instruments used for the study consisted of Lesson plans based on Buddhist ways, the knowledge and comprehension test form, the teamwork skills evaluation form, and the student’s satisfaction questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using percentage, arithmetic mean, and Standard Deviation. The results revealed that; 1) the learning management based on the Buddhist way consisted of a 4 lesson plan, lasting for 16 weeks, a total of 64 hours. The learning activities were managed through five steps, namely; Step 1: Value Awareness of Students’ religion, Step 2: Searching and Identifying for causes, Step 3: Formulating hypothesis, Step 4: Data analysis, and Step 5: Learning evaluation. 2) The findings of the learning management based on the Buddhist way indicated that 45 students or 81.81 percent of the students passed the set criteria and with an average score of 30.42 or 76.05 percent whiwasere higher than the defined criteria. The overall purpose of this IES-funded Goal 3 study, now entering its third year, is to evaluate the efficacy of Incredible Years Teacher program (IYT) for improving K-2 students' academic achievement, attention, and social-emotional competence. The authors will also examine the extent to which classroom behavior mediates the relationship between teacher management skills and students' academic performance in the classroom. The current poster, based upon teacher data from the first two cohorts, will present preliminary data on whether participation in IYT is associated with change over time in the classroom environment and quality of teacher interactions with students for trained teachers as compared to wait-list control teachers. Data include the CLASS (Pianta & Hamre, 2005) and the Teacher coder Impressions Inventory (TCI; Webster-Stratton, Reid, & Hammond, 2001), which are based on blind observer ratings. The CLASS is a multi-dimensional standardized instrument that has been widely used in early education classrooms and has been associated with gains in students' achievement and social adjustment. The TCI was developed to align more closely with the intervention and has been used primarily in research on the efficacy of IYT. (Contains 2 tables and 3 figures.)

Because technology integrations require changes in instructional processes it may require different approaches for classroom management. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether teachers' educational technology skills, besides their gender and years of experiences, significantly explain their classroom management skills. The data was gathered from 300 elementary school teachers in a mid-western city of Turkey. It was found that teachers' educational technology skills and their years of experiences were significantly associated with their course management skills, behavior arrangement skills and activity management skills. The finding of non-significant effects of teachers' gender on their subordinate classroom management skills are supported by previous research. The finding that experience may be expected to be an important predicting factor for occupational proficiency may be explained by the opportunities teachers may have to develop themselves in occupational skills during their career. Teachers with high perceptions of educational technology self-skills have high perceptions of classroom management skills. This result may be attributed to the experience in the use of educational technology.

Purpose of the article: This article aims to explore and elucidate the significance of psychological flexibility and human-centered leadership in the context of the 21st-century workplace. It aims to provide insights into how these concepts shape modern leadership practices and their impact on organizational culture, employee well-being, and overall effectiveness. Method: A quantitative survey was administered to a broader cross-section of professionals across different sectors to investigate the interplay between psychological flexibility, human leadership qualities, and their impact on thriving in the 21st-century social space. Findings & Value Added: We found that by incorporating psychological flexibility into human leadership, managers can cultivate a work environment characterized by nurturance and growth that embraces change, fosters collaboration, and empowers employees to thrive amidst the dynamic challenges of the contemporary working place social spaces. 

This study examined Entrepreneur’s level of management skills and performance of Small and Medium Enterprises SMEs in the automobile industry Evidence from Anambra State, Nigeria. The study modelled the effect of entrepreneur’s planning skills, entrepreneur’s human resource management skills, entrepreneur’s logistics management skills, entrepreneur’s management information skills, entrepreneur’s quality assurance skills, entrepreneur’s financial management skills and entrepreneur’s monitoring and evaluation skills on the performance of automobile industry using an econometric regression model of the Ordinary Least Square OLS . The population of the study consists of 2698 registered SMEs in the automobile industry in the state. A sample of 384 was determined using Taro Yamani formula. Out of the 384 respondents sampled only 378 responded and were used for the analysis. Findings revealed that Planning Skills, HRM skills, Logistics Management Skills, Management Information Skills, Quality Assurance Skills, Financial Management Skills and Monitoring and Evaluation Skills are significant determinant of performance of SMEs in Automobile Industry. The study therefore recommends that upcoming entrepreneurs should strive to acquire planning skills if it is not innate in them. This is because people with entrepreneurial planning skills tend to have high productivity or creativity and ability to correctly calculate the time it will take to do a determined task. Practicing and intending entrepreneurs should be trained on human resource management. This is because a good human resource manager can acquire or hires competent human resources and also can set out training required to develop skills among others.
