Purpose: Institutional repositories provide a new infrastructure for the scientific information management in universities. They can fulfill the internal and external needs if set optimally. Many universities in Iran have decided to develop their institutional repository but they have not applied a systematic planning for it yet. These attempts are based on unorganized frameworks and structures. Methodology: This study seeks to find the most effective and efficient factors that can affect the institutional repositories’ development. A thorough search was conducted to identify the related literature on the institutional repositories from 2000 to2010). A conceptual content analysis was conducted on the literature. The analysis of the 41 studies revealed that the concepts which were found in the institutional repository literature can be grouped into 6 major themes of strategy, policy, documentation, management/administration, system, and use. Findings: This paper makes an original contribution to identifying the criteria of developing institutional repositories based on the information systems theories and offering a framework to take them into account

Correlational relationships between the stages of each theory were measured, and a contingency table that visually portrayed the relationships between the stages was included. The Kohlberg Moral Development Test and the Loevinger Sentence Completion Test were the instruments used for assessment. Subjects included a group of 11- 15-year-old middle-class children to tap the lower ego levels, a group of young adults, clinical psychologists and psychiatric social workers. Analysis of results supported the first hypothesis, and the contingency table revealed clear parallels between the two series. The second hypothesis, however, was rejected. One typical system is TRAPPIST-1, which has seven nearly co-planar terrestrial planets all within the orbit of Mercury, including three in the habitable zone. To evaluate the differences in developing sophisticated gravity theories from the solar system, we use N-body integrations to simulate ephemeris and reproduce some important astronomy phenomena observed on the potentially habitable planet TRAPPIST-1e. Retrograde motions of other planets last 1–2 orders of magnitude shorter than in the solar system, but occur much more frequently. Transit events of all inner planets can be observed steadily. Except for Kepler's first law, which is hard to notice for low eccentricities of planets, the other two laws can then be precisely verified in 102 days, because the areas swept by planets vary by ≲0.01% and the observed semimajor axes and periods result in constants with theoretical and observation accuracies both ≲2%. However, the mean motion correlation implies that the Great Inequality is not always apparent between one pair of planets like Jupiter and Saturn. Furthermore, general relativity can hardly be discovered because it gives rise to perihelion precession of inner planets only ~0.1% of gravity precession, dozens of times smaller than Mercury. What utility does ancient military history have for the development of modern theories of warfare? This monograph discusses the development of warfare theory from ancient history by examining the theories and writings of United States Air Force Colonel (retired) John Boyd. Ancient history is useful for developing modern military theories of war. Ancient history played a significant role in the development of Colonel Boyd's theories on maneuver warfare. The abstract concepts he synthesized provide valuable instruction to modern operational artists on how to use ancient history in the development of their own theories and doctrine. Boyd arrived at the past with his theories in mind and then went searching for proof. He effectively linked concepts from the Battle of Cannae and the Mongol invasion of Europe. From these historical examples, Boyd shows how maneuver and moral warfare developed, and how inferior forces used these styles of warfare to defeat superior opponents.

Innovation was essential for propelling worldwide progress and revolutionising economies, society, and the environment. Innovation has played a crucial role in driving growth in several fields, from historical revolutions to modern technology breakthroughs. This research examined the many effects of innovation, using historical viewpoints, theoretical models such as Schumpeter’s concept of creative destruction and Rogers’ diffusion of ideas, and sector-specific assessments in the fields of health, education, agriculture, and environmental sustainability. The study analysed the obstacles that impede innovation in developing nations, such as deficiencies in infrastructure and limited financial means, and put forward policy suggestions to promote comprehensive and sustainable development via innovation.

The data are intended for use in achieving the objective of regional development--that is, maintaining an employment base which will support the population of a region at a level of dignity and prosperity consistent with the affluence of the United States. The purpose of this, the first international library conference held in China and sponsored by a Chinese institution, was to enhance the development of library and information science, promote the status of library and information professionals, and exchange ideas of research and practices in the field. In addition to ceremonial speeches, 134 papers were selected and read, most either written in or translated into English. Thirty-one of these papers are abstracted here, and are intended to provide references to scholars and practitioners who are interested in studying the current status and development of library and information services in many locations throughout the world, particularly China. Topics covered by the papers abstracted include: historical development, philosophical foundations, interactions with socioeconomic changes, technology and automation, management, cataloging and classification, preservation, and education. Contemporary theories of perceptual-motor development and dysfunction are analyzed in detail in this review of the literature. Studies focused on observation of delays, deviations, cause, theories of development, and programs of remediation. It is suggested that it may be presumptuous for theorists to delineate three, four, or ten characteristics that a child must display to demonstrate perceptual-motor dysfunction. Among theorists, there has been increasing agreement and repetition of findings that a child with perceptual-motor dysfunction has difficulty in the reception, integration, or response of stimuli, or a combination of these. Clumsiness, inability to attend to a task or screen inappropriate stimuli, hyperactivity, poor body image, visual disturbances, and poor bilateral integration are some of the more generalized and frequently mentioned characteristics. It is suggested the study of the effect of motor development on other variables could be more productive if normal and abnormal development were better understood. (CS)

Recent research on fractions has broadened and deepened theories of numerical development. Learning about fractions requires children to recognize that many properties of whole numbers are not true of numbers in general and also to recognize that the one property that unites all real numbers is that they possess magnitudes that can be ordered on number lines. The difficulty of attaining this understanding makes the acquisition of knowledge about fractions an important issue educationally, as well as theoretically. This article examines the neural underpinnings of fraction understanding, developmental and individual differences in that understanding, and interventions that improve the understanding. Accurate representation of fraction magnitudes emerges as crucial both to conceptual understanding of fractions and to fraction arithmetic.

Following on from the previous studies, the current study aims to assess the reliability and factor structure of Implicit Group Theory (IGT) items, as well as measuring attitudes and willingness for contact with multiple societal groups. the studies will recruit adults, adolescents (12-14 years old) and children (9- 0 years old) to account for any developmental change. The IGT scale includes items related to the perceived malleability, permeability and homogeneity of groups in society, as well as elements of social essentialism. As part of the development of the IGT scale, SDO and RWA will be measured to assess convergent validity, and empathy will be measured to assess discriminant validity. Given the theoretical relevance of Need for Closure to entity based thinking, items related to the NFC facets order and predictability are also measured. Items from the previous study related to Intergroup Relations will also be included. All three age groups included in the study will be presented with identical or like-for like items; adults will be presented with more items than children and adolescents due to time issues. The three studies may form one future article, or several distinct but related articles.
