I suggested the following steps: -- The DDI take on the task of "structuring" the "proliferated world," i.e., its time frame and the countries that will be presumed to have military capabilities and some descriptions of these, and something on how they may have gotten there. -- Someone like then be asked to draft a paper covering US security requirements and options in such a world. -- Last step: draft to be reviewed and coordinated within the Community given the substantial equities in the assessment of the Departments of Defense and State. These general conclusions are reached despite fundamental weaknesses and uncertainties in projections about what the world will look like and when. In any case, according to the attachment, Secretary Schultz has now requested that such a probe (proscribed in the Carter years) proceed anew (the DCI has asked Bob Gates to look into its desira sponsored some external work in this area under has included it in his ongoing work at the Recently, Dick Spier (formerly ACDA, now DoD) studied the problem at NDC in a NESA context. On the whole, I think something could be done along the lines of the Secretary's suggestion. "Oh Why Live To Regret" live poetry reading at Fitzroy Tavern in London by Joseph A Pasquale. Original Poem written by Pasquale on Dylan Thomas' father's desk at Dylan Thomas Boathouse in Laugharne, Wales on January 23rd 2025. Reading took place at Fitzroy Tavern on January 28th 2025. Joseph A Pasquale is an American author and poet who writes in a variety of literary genres, including poetry, memoir, and literary fiction. He has written over 65 books of prose, including poetry. He was born in Worcester, MA and studied the art of writing literary fiction under bestselling-author, Ken Eulo. Ken Eulo served as his editor on two finished suspense novels.  Joseph A Pasquale's poetry collection was recently added to the national archive in the National Horse Racing Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs, New York. Pasquale was published in the Hollywood hardback, "Literary (and other) Celebrity Doodles" Volume II. (published 2019) Pasquale and Margaret C Arana were both interviewed and have a spotlight in the Hollywood hardback, "The Musso & Frank Grill" (published 2019). Pasquale was a regular at Mussos. Pasquale's poetry collection, "Kindred Spirits: Horse Racing Name Poems" was published by Adelaide Books in 2020. The Other Side is the title of the live Chicago 10/21/03 poetry/performance art show by poet & performance artist Janet Kuypers. She used her usual visual display system for her artwork during this show (using a projector and a PowerPoint display to coordinate artwork to her poetry), but in this show she not only read occasional poetry but also information about travel to eight European countries (Austria, Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Bruxelles, Luxembourg and Switzerland). Because so little research has been conducted on methods of teaching literature, two separate but related studies were conducted to (1) examine what it means to understand stable irony, and (2) to compare two methods, direct and tacit, of teaching stable irony. A 36-item test, comprised of questions about 7 ironic poems and 2 nonironic poems, calibrated for difficulty according to Rasch analysis, was administered to 514 students. In addition, 4 experienced high school English teachers and 12 students were interviewed and asked to respond to 2 other ironic poems. Results of the written test showed that the ironic items were in general more difficult to explicate than the nonironic items. The interviews suggested that the students had difficulty detecting the presence of irony. Four high school teachers and their classes participated in the second study comparing the direct method of teaching irony, based on metacognition and Booth's (1974) four steps of reconstructing irony, and the tacit method, which gives students more exposure to ironic poems. Control groups were given no specific instruction on irony. Results showed that the direct and tacit methods achieved a statistically significant difference in comparison with the control groups, but that there is little statistical significance between direct and tacit methods. The study suggests that college bound high school students need to be instructed in reading skills, to prevent misreading, and researchers might look into the effectiveness of small group work versus large group work. Here are the two poems in their entirety: -- Now You're Nothing To Me love is like tap water free flowing remember when you were little, just put a glass under the faucet quench your thirst wait a minute, it's not like that water isn't free you even have to pay for the water in your own home and it's not even clean what you're getting is dirty and you still have to pay for it # you know, they say us humans are like seventy-five percent water and when I think of you and all the time we were together well, if you're seventy-five percent water I have to remember that it wasn't pure and clean and clear and if this is love, and this was you it wasn't free I'm still paying for it # when I now think of you the fact that you made me feel like nothing and when I think of what you now mean to me when I think of what you're made of I have to remember we're all made of atoms protons and neutrons wound tightly together in the nucleus apparently infinitely small surrounded at a comparatively vast distance by occasional tiny electrons spinning around keeping their distance almost like fluff in a way, you're like that electron, you know Spinning around but keeping your distance but when I think of you I have to remember that you're made of those atoms with really tiny cores and those atoms are so filled with space that you're mostly made of nothing when I think of you this is what I have to remind myself when I think of the nothingness you made me feel and the fact that you now mean nothing to me this is how I have to think of you -- Dreams 09/07/07 I was at the old house and they were still living there, they were having people over and I was outside toward the end of the driveway and I can't tell you why I was there, I didn't know what I was doing but I saw myself lifting the windshield wipers from someone else's car and then I placed what look like three tiny metal marbles at the bottom sides and center of the windshield after I did this I took one step backwards and watched the newly-formed snow and frost on the windshield start to melt away because of what I had done I found this fascinating, and then I saw the entire windshield start to shake so I stepped backwards away from this car as the window shook more and more until the windshield completely explode from the pressure I couldn't believe what I just saw and I was sure someone from inside the house heard the noise so I ran towards the trees in the ravine to hide I don't know why I was there or why I attached these foreign pieces to some stranger's car and I couldn't believe I took part in this minor form of terrorism so while I was at the tree line I floated up in the tree to stay out of the way until I thought I saw the lights in the house change so I got down onto the ground where I could see lights change in the house which made me think someone would be coming outside to see what happened to see what I had done so although my feet remained off the ground, I crawled with only my hands touching the wooded ground below like I was almost hovering and i tried to move deeper into the ravine I crawled with my hands over toward to pool outhouse toward the back yard of the house and I heard a car, so I looked toward the diveway and saw someone actually coming toward the house, the car slowing down, like they were about to park in the driveway but I watched the car and could see two heads in the front seats one man, one woman and I could see the woman's head pointed straight toward me and she was pointing in my direction I know I wasn't blending in with the ravine that surrounded me and I panicked, because these strangers found me

This study aimed to investigate junior high school students' learning attitudes and learning effectiveness through administering Microsoft Live@edu to assist in teaching Chinese reading. Quasi-experimental approach was used and a total of 63 eighth grade students were divided into the experimental group (N = 32) and control group (N = 31). Descriptive statistics, paired t-test, one-sample t-test, multiple regression, and ANCOVA were used to analyze the collected data. The results of the study reveal that the students' reading attitude was enhanced in terms of cognition, affection, behavior, interaction, and reflection through using Microsoft Live@edu to assist in teaching Chinese reading. In terms of the reading learning effectiveness, the scores of the post-test are higher than the pre-test for both groups. The scores of the students in the experimental group are higher than of the control group. Finally, the students in the experimental group show greater progress in discussions and feedback and analysis of Chinese readings.

Out of today's luncheon with Secretary Shultz came the idea }hat we should. undertake an assessment of Now to Live in a Proliferated Ldorld-- what would it be like, and what would our security requirements and options be in a world in which Argentina, Pakistan, South Korea, South Africa, India, Israel and whomever else you want to have a nuclear weapon. This would probably include questions of delivery systems, the likelihood of and the scenarios by which a further multiplicity of nuclear countries could .develop, given the prospect that some countries will have the incentive to knock out its neighbor's nuclear capabilities before they are allowed to mature, etc. 2.
