This study delves into the dynamics of relationship satisfaction (RS) among married couples and its crucial significance for mental health and psychological well-being. Survey data encompassing variables such as the general mattering scale, gender inequality in Household Chores scale, kansas marital conflict scale, and relationship assessment scale were gathered from 128 married individuals aged 18 to 65 in urban areas of Malaysia and Indonesia. Participants furnished demographic information including age, gender, and marriage duration. The study variables were assessed through the scales mentioned earlier. The findings, derived from bootstrap analysis involving 5,000 samples at a 95% confidence interval, revealed that the extent of partners' involvement in household chores significantly predicted their perception of gender equality in domestic responsibilities. This perception, in turn, fostered an elevated sense of mattering, thereby contributing to heightened relationship satisfaction. Importantly, the general mattering scale served as a significant mediator in the relationship between partner's household involvement and relationship satisfaction. In summary, couples benefit from partners engaging in domestic chores, resulting in an enhanced sense of mutual significance, greater relationship satisfaction, and improved mental well-being. Marital conflict frequency and intensity did not emerge as significant factors in this relationship.

Gender equality has been explained as both the equal treatment of women and men before the law and women's and men's equal usage of resources, opportunities, and services within the family and society. Today, although the conditions that support gender inequality have relatively decreased, gender discrimination still persists. Gender equality is expected to be taught by means of education at all levels and through curricula since they are the most important and indispensable elements of education. The first aim of this study is to determine whether an activity in the unit titled Towards Equality within the textbook, Citizenship and Democracy Education used in Turkey is appropriate for use in teaching gender equality. The second aim of the study is to determine through this activity students' views on gender equality/inequality and the reasons behind them based on the gender of students and the socio-economic levels of the schools which they attend. This is a descriptive study using both qualitative and quantitative research models. The study group consisted of a total of 160 students in 8th grade from four primary education schools from the lower, middle, and upper socio-economic levels (SEL) (three public schools, and one private school) in inner-city Ankara, Turkey. While descriptive statistical techniques (f-%) were used to analyze the quantitative data, content analysis was used to analyze the qualitative data. According to the findings of the study, the activity selected for testing by the researchers was found not to be adequate in strengthening gender equality awareness. Students generally attributed daily household chores and certain characteristics in the activity, which included such tasks as setting the table, being emotional, being a nurse, playing volleyball, and having blonde hair, to women. On the other hand, being a judge, playing football, and bravery were expressed as characteristics more likely to be specific to men. The ratios of these types of gender inequality based views were found to be higher particularly at the lower socio-economic level. The fact that gender inequality still continues in curriculum, course materials, and in the minds and behaviors of students makes it difficult to change this situation into a positive one. The content found in the curriculum and printed materials that are in connection with the curriculum should be cleared from implicit and explicit discourse that create or support gender inequality. Awareness of teachers about the variables that cause gender inequality should be increased.

In addition to being required for 'traditional' and 'emerging' occupations, STEM skills and knowledge are often needed for the so-called 'jobs of the future', driving innovation, inclusive growth and sustainable development. Greater female participation in these programmes and careers can potentially contribute to their empowerment and drive social well-being. Gender inequalities in access to STEM related fields in TVET, however, can affect the access to and participation of women in specific occupational areas. This report examines the key issues concerning girls and women's participation and achievement in STEM-related TVET programmes and their transition STEM related careers. Daniel Lord earned his undergraduate degree at UC Santa Cruz, during which time he also studied acting at UC Berkeley.  He holds master’s degrees in education and psychology and a Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Michigan.  After working as a licensed mental health professional, he pursued law and human rights studies at the University of Iowa. While there, he participated in the Iowa Playwrights Workshop.  He retired as a psychology professor at the University of Alaska but is an affiliated global faculty member with the Bahá’í Institute of Higher Education in Iran.  Close to a second retirement, he currently works as an attorney-public advocate in Anchorage and is a member of the American Bar Association’s International Law Section. Nava Sarracino was born to American and Iranian Bahá’í parents. She grew up in South Africa, where she earned her Master's in Sustainable Development. She moved to Anchorage 15 years ago and has worked in a birth center and as a medical biller. But she sees her calling in life as a theatre practitioner and storyteller and believes deeply in the power of the arts to be a great educational tool.  While working as a project manager in rural Alaska, she brought theatre and storytelling into the local school and has performed in communities worldwide. Her latest story-telling event was at the Halifax Fringe Festival in Canada, and her most recent stage performance in Anchorage was in RKP’s production, “Lifespan of a Fact.” In her latest theatre project, she hopes to bring awareness to the plight of the Bahá'ís in Iran by sharing the story of 14 individuals who were killed in Iran 40 years ago for their faith. Gender equality in and through education is critical to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, as many experts have observed, and investing in this area yields substantial public and private returns. It is a key driver of economic and social development and leads to gains in health, nutrition and many other areas. Support to advancing gender equality is offered to countries primarily through activities that support the Global Partnership for Education's (GPE's) three country-level strategic objectives: (1) sector planning and policy implementation; (2) mutual accountability; and (3) effective financing. I look at the changes in higher education (HE) and women's lives over the last 50 years, drawing on my recent book "Feminism, Gender & Universities: Politics, Passion & Pedagogies" which is a life history of feminism entering academe. The Robbins Report (cmnd 2154 1963) on HE was published in the same year that I went to university. It inaugurated a process of change and educational expansion that was linked to other major social transformations, including feminism. Its effects have been widely felt such that women now participate in education and employment on unprecedented levels. Indeed, it has opened up opportunities for education and employment for women including individual and social mobility. From my study I show how it opened up opportunities for women from both middle class and working class backgrounds to be first-in-the-family to go to university. I will also argue that whilst there have been very welcome changes in education, and HE especially, such that there is a gender balance of undergraduate students in HE, this does not mean that gender equality has been achieved. Patriarchy or hegemonic masculinity in HE is still strongly felt and experienced despite women's and feminist involvements in academe over the last 50 years. The question remains about how to transform universities to achieve genuine gender equality across all students and academics in HE.

This study uncovers the gender inequalities experienced by the 40 participants of the Training of Trainors (TOT) on Gender and Inclusion at Ateneo de Manila University conducted by Trias Southeast Asia using phenomenological inquiry. Results revealed participants had experienced discrimination in school, in the workplace, in the community and even in their own family. Hence a safe space, understanding power and stereotypes, dealing with gender and gender stereotypes, inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility and social justice (IDEAS), and vision were the factors needed in creating a gender inclusive society.

Previous research has shown that men and women perceive interpersonal ties as the most effective way to persuade men to support gender equality. Additionally, we found that when men completed a brief reflective writing task on how gender inequality has affected or may affect important women in their lives, their behavioural intentions to support gender equality increased. This increase in support was mediated by a stronger sense of shared identity with women and a greater perception that supporting gender equality aligns with their self-interest. In this follow-up study, we aim to replicate these findings using a between-subjects experimental design rather than a within-subjects pre-post design. Furthermore, we will examine a sample of men in the UK rather than in Australia. Our study will continue to explore whether appealing to men's interpersonal ties with women enhances their support for gender equality (RQ1) and whether this effect is driven by self-interest (e.g., personal relevance) or by an increased sense of shared identity with women (RQ2).

The use of gender-inclusive language is a subject of heated public debate which is also reflected in the ways companies communicate with their stakeholders such as employees, customers and shareholders. One criticism of those who believe that gender-inclusive language is unnecessary or even counter-productive is that its use is a pretext to make companies look good, and that it distracts from more pressing issues of gender equality. If this is true, then using gender-inclusive language would be a form of purplewashing. In this study we examine whether companies use gender-inclusive language as a form of purplewashing based mainly on the relationship between two indicators. First, we analyse whether gender-inclusive language is used in external corporate communications. Second, we use the representation of women on supervisory and executive boards as an indicator of gender equality efforts. We then examine how efforts at this level are associated with changes in external corporate communication (in terms of the use of gender-inclusive language).

Existing research shows that protesters’ collective identity influences how citizens interpret protest events, shaping perceptions of legitimacy, assessments of violence, and ultimately, public support for the cause (Wouters 2019; Hsiao & Radnitz 2021; Ellinas & Lamprianou 2023). Among the various dimensions of identity, gender appears to play a particularly salient role in shaping these perceptions. When women are visibly present, observers tend to view the protests as less violent and less deserving of repression (Naunov 2024). Their presence also reshapes how the public understands the protest’s agenda, making demands related to women’s rights appear more legitimate, integral, and aligned with the broader goals of the movement (Matthews 2022). In this study, we ask whether the reverse might also be true: can protest shape how participating groups are perceived? While much of the existing literature has focused on how protesters’ identities shape public perceptions of protest, we shift the focus to ask whether participation in large-scale, widely supported protests generates broader public support for the protesters themselves, and by extension, for the policy agendas associated with them. To explore this question, we examine South Korea, where the mass pro-democracy protests that followed the president’s emergency martial law declaration were marked by the visible participation of young Koreans—particularly young women—at the forefront of the mobilization. Specifically, we assess whether the involvement of younger generations generates a spillover effect, increasing public support for policies that address their concerns. We then ask whether this effect extends to women, examining whether highlighting the prominent role of women within the same protest context leads to greater support for policies that advance gender equality.

By taking an innovative perspective, Gender Equality in the Mirror aims to advance the debate on gender equalities and to engage with the complexities of their practical implications in everyday life. Through the voice of women who are contributing with their life and work to the pursuit of the collective task of inclusion, the volume develops an original analysis of the socio-economic and political dimension of gender parity to frame implementing pathways of aspirational human rights principles. Gender Equality in the Mirror explores these dimensions with the ultimate aim of raising broad awareness of the need to invest in women’s empowerment for the construction of our society.

Survey experiment to generate evidence on the impact of tone and gender on messaging pro gender equality in young men. Recent polling has found that young men are becoming less supportive of gender equality. With gender equality far from achievable in our societies nowadays, negative attitudes towards feminism or the belief that feminism has gone too far among young men are particularly harmful. The aim of this study is to proof concept on what types of messages in social media are likely to achieve higher support for gender equality among young men aged 18-25 in the UK. We do this through a survey experiment on a sample collected through Prolific. The main outcomes of interest are hostile sexism and perception of unfairness, all measured through agree-disagree scales for several items. We also include outcome measures for support of women rights and endorsement of the belief that 'feminism has gone too far'. This study includes two surveys: 1. Screening survey in which we also include young women aged 18-25. This covers outcomes at baseline, politics, self-esteem, social media use, and further information on demographics and dating status. 2. Follow-up survey experiment where randomly allocate male participants into 6 conditions: a pure control, an news article claiming "Men are doing worse overall" (stimulus), and 4 rebuttals to the article from a social media influencer that vary the gender of the influencer, and the tone of the messaging (confrontative vs. egalitarian).

Gendering is a very present topic in today's politics and journalsim. Our aim with the study is to show if a reading gendered text has an influence on one's perception about gender equality. We want to have a good representation of the diversity in the population. Therefore we will not exclude anybody from participating in this study if they are atleast 18 years old. A power-analsys suggested that we need a total of atleast a hundred participants who will be equally and randomly distributed into two groups. One group will read a neutral text in gendered writing, the other group will read the same text without the gendered writing. After reading both groups will have to answer the same questionnaire about gender equality. The Social Role Questionnaire(Baber & Tucker, 2006) will hold 14 questions and the participants are asked to give a percentage on how strong they agree with 0% meaning "strongly disagree" and 100% meaning "strongly agree". We will then compare the answers of both groups to see if the mere exposure of gendered language makes a difference in one's perservation of social euqality
