A two-phase study using the Delphi Technique examined the future of occupational education in central New York. The study surveyed three groups having some degree of relationship to occupational education: beneficiary groups (employers), policy making and/or influencing groups, and advisory/informational groups. The survey instrument included 134 events that could have some effect on occupational education and was designed to determine the probability of the event occurring, time frame, and its impact on education. Of the 134 events identified, 128 were estimated to occur probably by the year 2000. Five events were thought to occur by 1980. Twenty-four events were identified as having a strong positive impact on occupational education and fourteen events were forecasted to have a probable negative impact on occupational education. The purpose of this study was to determine which communication competencies will be essential to those entering a business or a profession in 1980. The 107 subjects used were "experts" in the area of business and organizational communication who responded to four questionnaires. It was concluded that college courses designed to enhance one set of communication skills, such as technical writing and public speaking, will no longer fulfill the requirements for undergraduate business and professional students. The results of the study and the communication skills needed in 1980 are presented in narrative and table format. (RB)

This study investigated the perceptions of participants in the National Agriscience Teacher Ambassador Academy as to the next steps the agricultural education profession should take to move forward in the area of integrating academic subject matter into agricultural education courses. All members of the 2007 Academy participated in the study. These expert teachers identified key action items in the area of curriculum, professional development, teacher preparation program, the need for a philosophical shift, and collaboration. Through use of the Delphi technique, consensus was reached on 34 different recommendations in these five areas. (Contains 3 tables.)

In December 1973, it was decided to use a modified Delphi technique to project enrollment (and subsequent income) for the 1974 Fall quarter. In the interest of expediency, this process was conducted at a series of meetings where the participants were present. Participants included the Dean of Instruction, the Dean of Student Services, the Admissions Officer, the Coordinator of Planning and Development, and the chairman and one faculty member of the department being considered. The participants estimated a Fall 1974 enrollment of 779, which compared favorably to the actual enrollment of 786. However, the estimates were not accurate in projecting the proportion of part-time and full-time enrollment. Whereas projection was made for 602 full-time students, actual full-time enrollment was only 480, and whereas projection was made for 177 part-time students, actual part-time enrollment was 306. The e-e+ collider LEP, running at sqrt{s} = m(Z0), has been a copious source of b-hadrons produced in decays Z0 -> b \b. We present recent studies using up to 4*10^6 hadronic Z0 decays acquired by the DELPHI detector between 1992 and 2000. They rely on efficient particle identification, precise track and vertex reconstruction and sophisticated data analysis algorithms. Presented are: a new measurement of the CKM matrix element |V_cb| in the semileptonic exclusive decays B0_d -> D*+ l- \nu_l; a new measurement of the B0_d - \B0_d oscillation frequency Delta(m_d); and searches by three methods for B0_s - \B0_s oscillations, yielding new lower limits on Delta(m_s).

Reproducibility is recognized as one of the cornerstones of scientific progress (Meehl, 1990). As the terminology surrounding reproducibility is inconsistent and ambiguous (Plesser, 2018), we should first establish what we refer to when we talk about reproducibility. In the context of this study, reproducibility refers to the extent to which the results of a replication agree with those of the original study, while replication refers to an actual attempt to re-produce an earlier finding or experiment. Reproducibility requires reproducible research practices: practices that enhance the possibility to successfully re-produce research – regardless of whether such a re-production is actually attempted. Reproducibility helps foster the credibility, efficiency, and self-correcting nature of science (Munafò et al., 2017). However, concerns about irreproducible findings have surfaced across many disciplines, leading some, but not others, to describe the current situation as a reproducibility crisis (Baker, 2016; Fanelli, 2018; Ioannidis, 2005). Large-scale replication efforts suggest that a substantial portion of research findings cannot be independently reproduced (Open Science Collaboration, 2015; Camerer et al., 2018; Murphy et al., 2025). While the problem is acknowledged across a wider range of disciplines (Open Science Collaboration, 2015; Baker, 2016; Ioannidis et al., 2017; Peels & Bouter, 2018; Cobey et al., 2023), the discussion on reproducibility is most prolific in the fields of the health sciences, social sciences, and natural sciences (Cobey et al., 2023; Dudda et al., 2025). In response, various interventions have been proposed that aim to improve either reproducible research practices, the actual reproducibility of research, or both – ranging from data-sharing policies and preregistration of study protocols to reporting guidelines and standardization of methodology. As interventions that aim to improve reproducible research practices ultimately also aim to improve reproducibility, we will use the term reproducibility interventions to refer to any intervention that either directly or indirectly aims to improve reproducibility. A recent review by Dudda et al. (2025) mapped tested interventions based on their type, disciplinary scope, study design, and outcomes, concluding that the evidence base for reproducibility interventions remains limited. The majority of interventions come from the fields of health and social sciences, with the remaining interventions coming from the natural sciences, or being multidisciplinary. While various interventions to improve reproducibility exist, it remains unclear how they align with diverse research contexts, or which are most useful for promoting reproducible research practices among different stakeholders. At present, no unified framework exists categorizing interventions aimed at promoting reproducibility within these fields, nor is there systematic guidance on which interventions are most appropriate for different actors or stages in the research process. This lack of structure limits the possibilities for different stakeholders to navigate the landscape of existing tested interventions or to identify areas in need of further development. To address this gap, we will conduct a Delphi consensus study to create an expert-informed taxonomy of types of interventions for facilitating reproducible research practices at relevant stages of the research cycle within the health sciences, social sciences, and natural sciences. In addition, we will assess the perceived relative importance of different stages and interventions in terms of promoting reproducibility, enabling a deeper understanding of which practices are most promising in diverse contexts. By generating a consensus taxonomy, this study ultimately aims to provide practical guidance not only for researchers within these fields, but also for institutions, publishers, funders, and other relevant stakeholders seeking to effectively support reproducible research.

Introduction: Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) combined with therapeutic exercise has proven to be an effective tool for preserving muscle mass and optimizing function in patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. However, there is a lack of standardization in its clinical application, particularly during the preoperative and postoperative phases of ACL reconstruction. In response to this need, the development of an expert consensus is proposed to define specific and safe protocols for BFR use in this context. Objective: To identify the criteria used in the application of blood flow restriction (BFR) protocols combined with exercise during the preoperative and postoperative phases in patients undergoing ACL reconstruction, with the ultimate goal of establishing clear guidelines regarding its application, progression, and frequency. Methodology: A three-round Delphi study will be conducted using online surveys. The questionnaire will be structured into six thematic blocks: (1) General guidelines for BFR application, (2) Specific protocols and considerations, (3) Frequency of BFR application, (4) Progression of protocols, (5) Preoperative ACL phase, and (6) Postoperative ACL phase. Over 30 experts—including researchers and clinicians with recognized experience in ACL rehabilitation and Blood Flow Restriction—will participate in the validation process. Experts will evaluate each item using Likert scales and provide qualitative feedback to refine content across successive rounds. Consensus will be defined based on pre-established agreement thresholds. The REDCap platform will be used to manage data collection, monitoring, and analysis. Descriptive analysis will be conducted to assess the level of consensus achieved and to identify items requiring modification or reformulation across rounds.

Three jet events arising from decays of the $Z^0$ boson, collected by the DELPHI detector at LEP, were used to measure differences in the properties of quark and gluon jet fragmentation. Gluon jets were anti-tagged in $b\bar{b}g$ events, by identifiying $b$ quark jets with high purities. Unbiased quark jets came from events $q\bar{q}\gamma$ with two jets plus one photon. A comparison of quark and gluon jet properties in different energy ranges was performed for the first time and within the same detector. The average value of the ratio of the mean charged multiplicities of gluon and quark jets was measured to be \[ 1.232 \pm 0.026 (\mbox{esta.}) \pm 0.018 (\mbox{sist.}) \] where the fraction of b-quark initiates jets was 11\% and the Durham jet finding algorithm has been used for the selection of three jet events. In agreement with QCD an increase of this ratio with energy was observed at a $3\sigma$ level. A further dependence of this ratio related with the angular acceptance of the algorithm used to reconstruct jets was also measured. Gluon jets have a broader energy and particle flow around its jet axis than quark jets of equivalent energy. The string effect has been observed in fully symmetric three-jet events. The ratio $R_\gamma$ of the charged particles flow in the $q\bar{q}$ inter-jet region of the $q\bar{q}g$ and $q\bar{q}\gamma$ samples was measured in agreement with the perturbative QCD expectation \[ \frac{(N_{qq})_{q\bar{q}g}}{(N_{qq})_{q\bar{q}\gamma}} = 0.058 \pm 0.06 (\mbox{stat.+sist.}) \] The dependence of the mean charged multiplicity on the hadronic center-of-mass energy was analysed in photon plus $n$-jet events. Stakeholders in STEM education have called for integrating engineering content knowledge into STEM-content classrooms. To answer the call, stakeholders in science education announced a new framework, Next Generation Science Standards, which focuses on the integration of science and engineering in K-12 science education. However, research indicates many science teachers, particularly those traditionally prepared to teach within a specific science content domain, need to broaden their knowledge in engineering content areas for successful integration. In this regard, researchers have suggested that new integrated STEM curricula should contain a list of key concepts for understanding the specific engineering content area. Therefore, there is a need for generating key concepts in critical engineering areas enabling science teachers to implement engineering into science classrooms. Using a modified Delphi research design, we identified and verified key concepts in earthquake engineering necessary for high school learners to acquire a basic understanding of earthquake engineering. As a result, we created a key concepts list and strand map with 35 key earthquake-engineering concepts. High school science teachers as well as other teachers in STEM content areas can use these key concepts to understand and teach earthquake engineering content in their classrooms.

Abstract The diagnosis of the reactive form of hemophagocytic syndrome in adults remains particularly difficult since none of the clinical or laboratory manifestations are specific. We undertook a study in order to elicit which features constitute helpful criteria for a positive diagnosis. In this Delphi study, the features investigated in the questionnaire and the experts invited to participate in the survey were issued from a bibliographic search. The questionnaire was iteratively proposed to experts via a web-based application with a feedback of the results observed at the preceding Delphi round. Experts were asked to label each investigated criterion in one of the following categories: absolutely required, important, of minor interest, or not assessable in the routine practice environment. A positive consensus was a priori defined as at least 75% answers observed in the categories absolutely required and important. The questionnaire investigated 26 criteria and 24 experts originating from 13 countries participated in the second and final Delphi round. A positive consensus was reached for the nine following criteria: unilineage cytopenia, bicytopenia, pancytopenia, presence of hemophagocytosis pictures on a bone marrow aspirate or on a tissue biopsy, high ferritin level, fever, organomegaly, presence of a predisposing underlying disease, and high level of lactate dehydrogenase. A negative consensus was reached for 13 criteria, and an absence of consensus was observed for 4 criteria. The study constitutes the first initiative to date for defining international guidelines devoted to the positive diagnosis of the reactive form of hemophagocytic syndrome.

Searches for HZ production with the Higgs boson decaying into an invisible final state were performed using the data collected by the DELPHI experiment at centre-of-mass energies between 188 GeV and 209 GeV. Both hadronic and leptonic final states of the Z boson were analysed. In addition to the search for a heavy Higgs boson, a dedicated search for a light Higgs boson down to 40 GeV/c^2 was performed. No signal was found. Assuming the Standard Model HZ production cross-section, the mass limit for invisibly decaying Higgs bosons is 112.1 GeV/c^2 at 95% confidence level. An interpretation in the Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM) and in a Majoron model is also given.

The researcher conducted a three-round Delphi study of 20 Air Force senior leaders in order to ascertain the potential positives and negatives of Mobility Air Forces command and control (C2) consolidation. While the study did not achieve panel consensus in all researched areas, it did highlight some areas of significant concern that should be explored before pursing any further discussion of consolidation. The study also underscored the current organizational success areas for both AMDs and TACC. Clearly, the consolidation conundrum does not lend itself to precise analytical methods, but the Delphi study provided subjective judgments from a collective panel in order to establish foundational information. The intent of the study was to provide a basis for Air Force leaders, so that decisions can be made to shape and mold the future construct of the Mobility Air Force C2 enterprise. However, the panel results appear to indicate that given current information and context, AMD consolidation should not be a desired end state at this time. Yet, as the Air Force continues to evolve and new technologies and information develop consolidation should be revisited.

A Delphi method was used to determine the extent to which current educational software was meeting the needs of teachers; as well as what changes needed to occur in educational software to make it more effective. Five overarching themes emerged: (a) instructional design issues, (b) curriculum, (c) materials, (d) cost, and (e) meeting specific needs. The cost of software was a concern throughout the study. The belief that educational software should be grounded in both content and purpose was also a major concern. Deficiencies and suggestions for improvement were found.

Science educators express wide consensus about the importance of a modern scientific literate society. But focussing on the public understanding of science in Germany, there seems to be no general consensus, neither about how to enhance scientific literacy in the educational practice nor about what the major topics and dimensions of a modern science education are. With the help of the "Curricular Delphi-Study in Chemistry" (CDSC) a working group, this study analyzed topics and dimensions as well as fields of dissent and consensus in the opinions of 114 experts from different stakeholder groups (students, teachers, educators, and scientists). Knowledge about this helps to improve science lessons and makes clear that projects, like PARSEL, are urgently needed to enhance the popularity and relevance of science education for scientific literacy.
