There's the lighting inside the cafe that says, "love at first bite". It means you can enjoy the food and the drink when you're in the cafe or at the beach.

This is a 1950s, black and white film produced by the U.S. Army . The film’s purpose is to show G.I.s simple first aid techniques to apply before proper medical aid can be administered. Several scenarios are shown including snake bite, chemical burn, poisoning, drowning, and more. The film opens with the image of the caduceus as a symbol of medicine. The caduceus is the traditional symbol of Hermes and features two snakes winding around an often-winged staff. Across the image reads, “as a soldier, you may be called upon to perform duties that may threaten your health… Or even your life. Medical personnel may not always be immediately available. It is up to you to know the fundamentals of first-aid which you can apply to yourself or to others… whether you’re at home, in garrison or in the field.” Three soldiers sit in the field as a rattlesnake approaches 1:00. One of the soldiers has been bit on the arm. The snake is killed for later identification. The two other soldiers keep the man calm 2:00. A soldier opens a first-aid kit and a tourniquet is applied 2:25. The iodine applicator is opened and iodine applied to the wound 2:40. The lancet blade is disinfected with a flame 2:46. Two incisions are made under both fang marks 3:07. A truck arrives and the man is loaded on to get to medical attention 3:50. The dead snake is brought along 4:15. The poison is sucked out with the suction pump in the first-aid kit 4:35. An ammonia inhalant is crushed to keep the victim alert 5:30. There are other kinds of poisons and a soldier accidentally drinks poison accidentally, from his footlocker 6:02. Soldier helps him to the bathroom 6:20. Soldiers sent to retrieve some salt and the soldier drinks as much lukewarm water as he can 6:43. Salt water is prepared 7:00. The man drinks all the water 7:15. He sticks his fingers down his throat to induce vomiting and bring up the poison 7:30. The poison bottle is brought along so the doctors can identify the substance 7:43. Soldiers crawl on their stomachs and encounter poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac 8:15. Infected man starts scratching his face and a soldier stops him 8:55. The man washes vigorously with soap and water 9:38. Clothes are washed 9:53. Burning these plans can be dangerous as the poison is in the smoke 10:11. If inflicted with smoke and poison, you need and eye wash 10:20. Chemicals are splashed into a soldier's eyes. He needs an emergency eye wash 10:45. If an insect enters the eye pull the eyelid out in the tears should wash out the object 11:15. Using a stick, the eyelid is rolled back 11:35. If the object in the eye is hard, a blindfold should be used to restrict total eye movement 12:08. A man gets something caught in his nose; he is encouraged to blow his nose briskly 12:40. A bug gets into a soldier’s ear and a flashlight is used to attract the insect to the outer surface. Flushing it with water is tried, 13:40. Man chokes on some food. A soldier gets a splinter from a wooden box 14:45. Man sterilizes a needle 15:22. The wound is covered 15:45. A blister is treated with soap and hot water and punctured with a sterilized needle 16:10. Man has abdominal pain 16:40. Man faints to the floor 17:20. His clothes are loosened 17:45.  Cold water is applied to his head 18:10. He needs to be kept warm. A drowning man is retrieved from the water 19:00. They did a fantastic job! This was the first installment of our summer youth program, Teen Video Boot Camp, for 2019 at Bloomington Community Access Television (BCAT), which took place June 10-14 at Bloomington Civic Plaza in the City’s public access facility. Eighteen teens, ages 11-14, attended the camp and were very enthusiastic and excited to learn about video production and create short films as a group.

The stooges reminisce about the girls they met overseas while in the military. As they wait for the girls' ship to arrive, they get drunk and Shemp winds up asleep with his feet in a tub of cement. After sobering up, they free Shemp with a dynamite blast that lands them at the dock where their sweethearts are waiting.

Lady Sarah Isabella Augusta Wilson was the aunt of Winston Spencer Churchill. In 1899 she became the first woman war correspondent when she was recruited to cover the Siege of Mafeking for the Daily Mail during the Boer War. She moved to Mafeking with her husband at the start of the war, where he was aide-de-camp to Colonel Robert Baden-Powell. Baden-Powell asked her to leave Mafeking for her own safety after the Boers threatened to storm the British garrison. This she duly did, and set off on a madcap adventure in the company of her maid, travelling through the South African countryside until she was finally captured by the enemy and returned to the town in exchange for a horse thief being held there. Dwindling food supplies became a constant theme in the stories she sent back to the Mail and the situation seemed hopeless when the garrison was hit by an outbreak of malarial typhoid. Aptly described as "Little House on the Prairie - but for adults" the novel follows a group of Scottish families who pioneer the Iowa prairie in the 1860’s. The main storyline concerns Wully, the eldest McLaughlin son, who returns home from the Civil War to find that his sweetheart, Chirstie, has experienced an unspeakable tragedy that will profoundly affect the couple's lives. Their story is one of shame and honor, secrets and guilt, fear and loathing, revenge and forgiveness. But perhaps the stars of the novel are the strong older women such as Wully’s mother, Isobel, whose love and matriarchal strength keeps the family together as well as Chirstie’s stepmother, Barbara, who finds ways to make her good-for-nothing husband keep his promises. Published between 1833 and 1841, the 90 Tracts were written by various members of "The Oxford Movement". They cover various aspects of Anglo-Catholic doctrine and other theological matters. The lead was taken by John Henry Newman (who made the largest contribution), but several other churchmen associated with Oxford University were also involved, among them John Keble, Hurrell Froude, and Edward Pusey. Among the newly written tracts were also re-prints of works from previous generations. The Tracts are of various lengths, ranging from a few pages to book-length works. The format and cheap prices, meant that the Tracts were widely disseminated. Volumes 1 and 2 also had new translations of the works of the early Fathers of the church appended to the end.<br><br> Volume 1 contains Tracts 1 to 46, along with 18 "Records of the Church". These last include all the extant epistles of St. Ignatius, alongside works by Justin Martyr, Irenæus, Clement of Alexandria, and Tertullian. Surprise port visits by the Russian corvette Bogatyr and the Confederate warship Shenandoah in the 1860s awakened in Victoria a deep sense of vulnerability, and Victorians set their minds to a new domestic project – a decades long pursuit of security. That effort would ultimately give rise to extensive coastal fortifications, militia and artillery formations both voluntary and professional, sea mines, and a small but not inconsequential naval flotilla whose backbone would be the formidable ironclad H.M.V.S. Cerberus. Not that these efforts were confined to Victoria alone. The not-infrequently perilous straits of the Mother Country as it navigated the treacherous shoals of European politics and global empire provided ample reasons for insomnia. To varying degrees the other states too had constituted forces, and most made a start at acquiring ‘warships’—an assemblage tending more to the ‘dinky’ side than that term might otherwise suggest. But where naval matters were concerned New South Wales made something of a false start, while Queensland and South Australia simply started late. Whether this is because the issue didn’t resonate as much in the other colonies, or whether Victoria simply had larger resources to sink into an inherently (economically) unproductive project is not immediately obvious. Efforts _were_ made in all the colonies, however and joint defence and a federal fleet would be a not insignificant impetus towards Federation. The Australian colonies would largely abandon armaments acquisition with the depression of the 1890s, but the arrival of Theodore Roosevelt’s Great White Fleet in 1908 exercised popular imagination, and the recently federated Commonwealth of Australia set about acquiring a new navy. This new Royal Australian Navy, lead by the battle-cruiser HMAS Australia, steamed into Sydney Harbour for the first time in late 1913. This new institution would be tested far more strenuously than the naval forces of the unfederated colonies ever were.
