The Founder of Whefi.com .

Overview:

I am a programmer who is experienced in web development and has deep interests and knowledge in business management, entrepreneurship, and innovation management, accordingly, I have decided to make a practical use of these skills and interests in a project that aims to deliver a better user experience when surfing the web. Therefore I have been working on whefi.com as a new concept of web search that uses open data sources and several technologies to deliver a new user experience when searching for information online. The new concept that whefi represent is based on mixing the traditional way of web search with a new results format that has a report/article-like structure. I hope that this web platform will solve the Information overload problem that people face nowadays and therefore deliver a better user experience when searching for information online. Currently, the platform offers the ability to search for books using open data and open-source software. My dreams for this project are big and include adding more features and more search types so that the platform will offer more than searching for books. There are plenty of open data sources on the web that can be used to create value for people and enhance the way they surf the web. Nevertheless, the main constraint for making use of these data sources is the needed time to do so. However, this is something that can be overcome by working slowly yet steadily to achieve the goal of offering a better online search experience.

Career and Other Activities:

I have been working full-time as a System Administrator at the Forensic Medicine Authority in Egypt since 2012. I live in Alexandria, a beautiful Mediterranean coastal city in Egypt. I love strolling, coding, and reading. I have earned a Master's degree in "Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management" in 2020 from Cairo University in collaboration with Cambridge Enterprise - University of Cambridge. Additionally, I have earned two graduate diplomas previously from Alexandria University: one in "Accounting and Computer" which I have earned in 2016, and another one in "Financial Management" which I have earned in 2012. Earlier, I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Worker University in Egypt in 2009. Also, I have completed several on-person and online courses that helped me shift my career from Business to Computer Networks and System administration and then to Web Development. I am a lifelong learner who is always seeking to gain more knowledge. MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) in particular had a huge impact on my career as they provided me with valuable skills in multiple fields. I have completed MOOCs on several platforms including Udacity, Coursera, and edX. Still, I have found that learning by doing is the best source of knowledge.
