Dans Par-delà la révolution copernicienne, l'auteur avait pris pour fil conducteur la critique husserlienne de la révolution copernicienne de Kant : si, pour ce dernier, l'être des objets se règle sur les structures a priori du sujet transcendantal, c'est en phénoménologie, à l'inverse, chaque catégorie essentielle d'objets qui prescrit en miroir une structure régulatrice du sujet constituant. Le présent ouvrage prolonge cette démarche : car loin que le système des objets soit clos une fois pour toutes, la sphère des objets culturels et idéaux est au contraire en perpétuel devenir ; cela n'implique-t-il pas, du côté du sujet, une plasticité et une relativité historiques de son essence et de ses facultés ? En outre, si l'on considère les structures de la raison scientifique, on doit avec Husserl faire le constat qu'elles sont privées de permanence anhistorique et que l'histoire est scandée par des coupures épistémologiques où se redéfinissent le style de la rationalité et les catégories de la raison scientifique. Jacques Derrida bezeichnet dieses "Letzte" als "différance" - Grundvoraussetzung für die gesamte Zeit wie auch Räumlichkeit, aber auch für die Sprache und jedes System. Weil die "différance" als der Ursprung von allem alles übersteigt, lässt sie sich nur durch Negationen kennzeichnen. Dionysius' Ausgangspunkt jedoch ist die Offenbarung des lebendigen Gottes in den "Heiligen Schriften" der Bibel. Da sich Gott als unergründliches Geheimnis zu erkennen gibt, können es nur Negationen zur Sprache bringen. Das Vorgehen wie auch die Begriffe für Gottes alles überragende Transzendenz schöpft Dionysius aus neuplatonischen Überlieferungen. Seine "negative Theologie" dient der Vergegenwärtigung der verheißenen Zukunft Gottes jenseits menschlicher Welterkenntnis.

7Entropic Affirmation

On the Origins of Conflict in Change, Death, and Otherness

How do we conceptualize death when its very nature implies absence and nothingness? It is difficult to put into words precisely because we want our words to help us delineate the world around us, whereas the absence associated with death is the opposite of such delineation. For this reason, death might be said to represent a form of infinite otherness, something radically different from our usual, finite, anthropomorphic way of thinking about the world. With this in mind, Apple Igrek observes an unusual paradox. Some philosophers argue that we should be more open to that which is infinitely other (as with change or death) in the context of ethics, culture, and politics, while others critique this position since we cannot logically say what is more or less open to the immeasurable. It would therefore seem impossible to defend the relevance of what is infinite to ethics while nevertheless acknowledging the validity of the above-stated critique. If we want, in other words, to say that infinite otherness remains relevant to our social and ethical values, we will have a difficult time doing so unless we create a new methodological approach determining how it is possible for pure absence and alterity to play a role in the creation of those values. In this book Apple Igrek takes up the challenge of articulating this new approach explaining how something transcending our finite comprehension (as with death or never-ending change) is nonetheless essential for describing the construction of social values, especially in terms of describing their conflictual and agonistic tendencies.
