Last night, before the summer concert of some sort, I shot a footage of the seagull right in the water.

"The Silly Seagull" by: Wes Robert Ward Once upon a time by the open sea, by the salty ocean were many seagulls flying about just being birds in motion. One particular seagull stood out I must say as I was going through my tackle box on the pier that strange odd fishing day. The bird in question perched on a wooden pillar. Perched and just like that….and stared in my direction. Just stared and nothing else. Just stared at me as if I was nothing more than a piece of fish or bread, devouring me with his beady eyes, eating my fisherman soul with his feathery seagull-ness. And I guess that I just had no choice in the matter, I just had to over-act like William Shatner. I suddenly did my impression of Red Skelton as Heathcliff, holding my hands down like wings, "Well gee-wiz, Gertrude, where's Mable? Elmer, Seaman, Herman, and Pete are flying soon and they want a kiss." "A kiss you say," imitating Gertrude now, "Why do they need a kiss, Heathcliff?" "Because Gertrude," imitating Heathcliff again, "After eating raw fish that's stimulating their bowels they're going to go bomb Pearl Harbor and they don't know if they're coming back." The seagull looked at me in the silliest way. Just looked at me with absolutely nothing to say, what was there to say? A Japanese Fisherman nearby replied, "Just hearing that makes me want to commit seppuku, or what many would say hara-kiri, but with you I'd kamikaze before you do another seagull joke." I popped the tab of my classic coke and spoke as I looked at the Jap and said in my best Red Skelton impression, "Well goodnight and may God bless." And the silly seagull flew off having enough of my nonsense, nevertheless and nonetheless she did not return for an encore and sad to say that I had more. Oh what a dreary world it was that a seagull can not take a joke. Oh what a sad state we live in when a seagull flies away and never returns again. And with sudden surprise the seagull did return and sat on the wooden pillar, yet not alone for she brought his seagull sister. Oh what a twist of a twister, I dropped my fishing pole and said in my Red Skelton voice, "Oh Gertrude, you brought Mabel…. let me tell you the tale of a three hour tour…." The Jap picked up his pole and lure, and left before I began to sing, and here I am doing Red Skelton with my hands as seagull wings. And many seagulls began to perch and take in the greatest show by the open sea, by the salty ocean, and none were in motion. The End. 🦤

High voltage insulation is one of the most important components of electrical power systems. Polymeric materials have lately supplanted ceramic materials as insulating materials due to their low weight, straightforward structure, high mechanical strength, good performance in the presence of pollution, ease of transportation, and ability to enhance voltage. The purpose of this thesis is to add micro and nano-sized aluminum oxide (Al2O3) fillers to silicone rubber (SIR) to enhance its electrical characteristics. Micro Al2O3 filler with contents of 10wt%, 20wt%, 30wt%, and 40wt% was combined with nano Al2O3 with contents of 1wt%, 3wt%, 5wt%, and 7wt% to create samples of SIR composites. The composites’ dielectric strength is evaluated in a variety of environments, including dry, wet, low-salt wet, and high-salt wet circumstances. In order to boost the insulator’s dielectric strength under diverse environmental conditions, this research aims to develop a weight ratio composition for such a composite. The ideal concentration of nano or micro Al2O3 fillers has been calculated using the whale optimization algorithm (WOA) and seagull optimization algorithm (SOA).

“Stanley And The Seagull” by: Wes Robert Ward Stanley Stahlberg stood on the secluded beach by the sea somewhere along the Scandinavian coast, and saw what he saw everyday of his aging, perplexing life… a seagull. Other birds as well, but the seagull always understood him more than the other ones. Not any ordinary seagull, but a seagull from the planet Jupiter. Apparently Stanley also lost it many years ago. The Seagull flaps upon the sandy wetness of the beach after a recent rain storm and squawks. Stanley says as he stares, “Jupiter must be nice this time of year. It must be difficult migrating from here to there in outer space.” The Seagull squawks and slowly steps away in search of anything interesting on the wet mud. Stanley slowly follows and replies, “Some say the Penguins of Neptune wish they could do the same, but they're flightless birds, you know.” The Seagull stops, turns around, and looks at him. Silence for thirty seconds then squawks. Stanley nods, “I know, Neptune stinks and penguins are not the most pleasant birds, I suppose, yours excluded of course.” The Seagull turns his head oddly and eyes him strangely. Stanley exclaims, “My opinion of birds from other worlds is like this… if you all can fly through asteroid fields, past black holes, and breathe no oxygen then you're amazing, just extraordinary birds.” The Seagull heard enough and flew away, but not before dropping a little bird poo by Stanley’s shoes. Stanley waves him off, “Hold on to your payload cargo. It's many light years back home.” A pelican lands on a nearby pier, flaps his long wings, and squawks.
