A comprehensive study of the subterranean structure known as the Osireion, its relation to the main temple complex of Seti I, and the surrounding sacred landscape at Abydos. The Osireion contains an enormous wealth of information with its encyclopedic array of New Kingdom Underworld Books and provides a unique insight into the ancient Egyptian worldview, circa 1300 B.C. at the beginning of dynasty XIX, following the tumultuous  Amarna Heresy. It was built by Seti I as part of his program to re-establish the abode of Osiris, abolished by the heretic Akhenaten, thus explaining its form as a subterranean architectural rendition of the Duat itself, the realm of Osiris as Ruler of the West. Built on the same axis as Seti's Mansion of Millions of Years, it was from the beginning to have been an integral part of this magnificant complex. Its ancient name, "Beneficial is Menmaatre (Seti I) for Osiris", points to its purpose.Two graffiti from dynasties XXI and XXII provide further insight as to how the ancient Egyptian priests perceived this unique structure, calling it "mysterious/hidden place of the Duat of Menmaatre" and in a greeting "Hail to you! Isis in the birth house".

In this document, major differences between the third grade data collection and previous rounds are summarized; cautions and caveats about using the data are provided; and basic information about using the Electronic Code Book (ECB) is summarized. This manual provides guidance and documentation for users of the third grade data of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, kindergarten Class of 1998-99 (ECLS-K). It begins with an overview of the ECLS-K study. Subsequent chapters provide details on the instruments and measures used, the sample design, weighting procedures, response rates, data collection and processing procedures, and the structure of the data file. The ECLS-K focuses on children?s early school experiences beginning with kindergarten. It is a multisource, multimethod study that includes interviews with parents, the collection of data from principals and teachers, and student records abstracts, as well as direct child assessments. The ECLS-K has been developed under the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Westat is conducting this study with assistance provided by Educational Testing Service (ETS) in Princeton, New Jersey. The ECLS-K is following a nationally representative cohort of children from kindergarten through fifth grade. The base year data were collected in the fall and spring of the 1998-99 school year when the sampled children were in kindergarten. A total of 21,260 kindergartners throughout the nation participated. (Contains 88 tables and 80 exhibits.)

Probably the most common combination padlock used today is the Master Lock combination padlock. Soref, a locksmith and inventor, and James Keith Marshall were awarded a patent for the Master Lock combination padlock on April 30, 1935. The Master Lock combination padlock has a pressed steel case, which is press fitted and spun over the back cover, making it impractical to disassemble the lock.
