The meshing of Dark Castle and Dark Matter might seem to lack continuity... Sometimes it can be hard to find tracks that I haven’t done and likewise tracks to combine into a proper medley. I’ve tried to keep my track references more local to the game(s) that the track is based on, and I’ve gotten some very valid criticisms regarding the overuse of random motifs in order to fill empty space in the cover. I was super lucky that both these tracks were present in Robobot and DL2, so it kind of makes sense. For the time being, I consider this track to be one of the best compositions on my channel. Simplistic tracks are essentially a template for improvisation, so it was fun. 5:12 is actually a callback to the old Dark Matter SNES remix I did. You know, I tend to get self referential, and it feels a little bit narcissistic sometimes... But I suppose it makes sense... SINCE MY USER NAME...... *drum roll*.... IS LIGHT *META*S!!!!! (Crickets) Dark Matter is one of the most pervasive characters in the series. Sadly, the final boss of Dreamland 2 is not often on any top 10s, and people don’t refer to the theme(s) often when recounting their favorite memories from the series. (Both themes in KDL2 are very short and somewhat repetitive, though they have groovy bass-lines) More often than not, Dark Matter is overshadowed by characters like Marx, 02, and even Nightmare. The truth is, in his raw form, Dark Matter shows up in some badass boss battles, and I consider the Dreamland 2 incarnation to be one of the most difficult non-arena challenges in the series. (though it may be short-lived) I just found out yesterday that Kirby gets fried by the atmosphere if you wait too long during the fight. What the hell is that. Basically, Dark Matter deserves some love. He’s everywhere. He's a nice guy. Right? So, this upload doubles as a tribute to the character itself and the longevity of its influence on one of the greatest video game series’ ever made. Don’t fuck with Dark Matter. Let me know if I post any links that stop working, or if I forget to enable public downloads. Also, requests are absolutely welcome 100%, but keep in mind that I only really do one track every two weeks, so I can get picky. Always appreciated, though.

In diesen Clip wird eine der größten Rauchaktionen die es in der Geschichte vom Camp Heidekrug gab zu sehen sein, von der Planung, der Missionsbesprechung aber auch der Anwendung der Strategie. In weniger als 2 Minuten fielen über 15 Rauchgranaten in Richtung des Gegners nieder und ein Durchbruch durch die Feindlichen Verteildigungen sollte gestartet werden. In der Strafkolonie ist eine Erzählung von Franz Kafka, die im Oktober 1914 entstand und 1919 veröffentlicht wurde. Einem Forschungsreisenden wird das Rechtssystem einer Strafkolonie vorgeführt. Es besteht darin, dass jeder Angeklagte unabhängig von seiner Schuld von einem Apparat in minutiösem Ablauf stundenlang gefoltert und dann getötet wird. Den Apparat beschreibt Kafka als überdimensionalen Parlograph in der Funktionsweise eines Phonographen mit vibrierender Metallplatte und Nadel. The story begins with a traveling salesman, Gregor Samsa, waking to find himself transformed (metamorphosed) into a large, monstrous insect-like creature. The cause of Samsa's transformation is never revealed, and Kafka never did give an explanation. This story, about a man who wakes up transformed into a bug and the repercussions it has on his life and the people around him, has intrigued me for many years. The translation is by Ian Johnston, not the translator that is in Gutenberg; I like Johnston's more. What does it mean? [Spoiler possibly]In my mind it is not complicated at all and is most probably an autobiography of how Kafka himself had experienced his early life living with his parents. Kafka describes how he had experienced his parents’ financial and emotional exploitation's of him, to the point of detaching from them and thereby ceasing to be their son (the real metamorphosis). Gregor’s metamorphosis is that of Kafka’s being an obedient son, subserviently paying for his parents’ narcissistic needs with his own life, into being a disobedient one—as if he had become a ‘piece of vermin’. Gregor’s parents possessed a large sum of money in savings, which symbolizes the needlessness of Gregor’s exploitation. In other words, the parents did not love him for who he was, but for his loyal willingness to undergo this exploitation. Reduced to vermin, Gregor can (or will) no longer financially benefit his parents. It is the parents that caused Gregor’s/Kafka’s metamorphosis. The debt Gregor intended to repay his parents symbolizes the emotional debt many adult children continue to feel towards their elderly parents for the love and care they have provided. Sister Grete, at first siding with her brother against their unfriendliest father, eventually switches sides after her brother’s metamorphosis, conveniently seizing first place in the sibling hierarchy, a reference to Kafka’s relationship with one of his siblings. The reason why the book continues to enjoy popularity among large audiences of readers, in my opinion, is because they recognize themselves in Gregor Samsa, which makes it all the more astounding how many ‘expert’ interpretations attempt to distract students of Kafka away from the most likely one. I know that some of our absolute best LibriVox readers have already recorded this marvelous story but this but it has also been on my list of "yearn to record" things for a long time and for my personal and entirely selfish pleasure now is the time to do it before I get any older or another flood hits us.
