In this episode of FutureWatch, host Leslie Baer-Brown speaks with Dr. David Nobles, a history professor at York University in Toronto and author of "The Religion of Technology: The Divinity of Man and The Spirit of Invention." They discuss the connection between religion and technology and how the historical and re-emerging influences of religion on technology may be causing us to disregard our humanity. Dr. Nobles also talks about how science and technology have developed through religious projects; the connection between Christian faith, scientific technology, and space innovation; and the cultural perception of technology in relation to progress and change. The episode also features Randy Ringen discussing Mars and analysis on its ability to support life through research on Pathfinder in his segment, ScienceLine; Patricia Florez discussing about new OCR technology that can read and vocalize material for blind individuals in her segment, The Good News Report; and Saul Landau offering his commentary in his segment, Hot Air. FutureWatch was a publicly broadcast program that explored topics in contemporary science. The show was distributed on radio, cable TV, and the Internet and was produced collaboratively between Harvey Mudd College and MediaVision, an audiovisual production unit at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

In  Tech Agnostic , Harvard and MIT's influential humanist chaplain Greg Epstein explores what it means to be a critical thinker with respect to this new faith. Greg M. Epstein  serves as the Humanist Chaplain at Harvard & MIT, and the Convener for Ethical Life at MIT's Office of Religious, Spiritual, and Ethical Life. From 2019 to 2022, she served as Editorial Page Editor of  The Boston Globe , the youngest in its 150-year history, overseeing the news organization’s opinion coverage and editorial board during two presidential impeachment trials, the 2020 election, the COVID-19 pandemic, the death of George Floyd, the Capitol insurrection, and Boston’s historic 2021 mayoral election. During her tenure, the Globe had two Pulitzer finalists for editorial writing. She is the author of  The Optimist’s Telescope: Thinking Ahead in a Reckless Age  (Riverhead, 2019), named a top business book by  The Financial Times  and a best book of the year by National Public Radio.

This book addresses topics relating to religion, education, science, and technology, and explore their role in developing a more inclusive and sustainable future. With discussions viewed through the lenses of religious and Islamic studies, education, psychology, social science, economics, and natural science, the book is interdisciplinary. It also brings together a range of diverse work by academics around the world including Indonesia, Malaysia, the United States, Australia, Kenya, Germany, and the Philippines. The papers are derived from the 5th International Colloquium on Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies (ICIIS 2022), a prestigious event designed to provide a global forum for academicians, researchers, practitioners, and students to present their research findings to global experts. The study conducted at Najran University located in Najran city in Saudi Arabia. It aimed for examination the effectiveness of the STSR approach on achievement the course of curriculum foundations and development of the inclinations towards study for students at Najran University. Both questions and hypotheses were formulated in light of the aims and principles of the study. Materials included an achievement test and inclinations towards study exam. The findings of the study revealed that there are significance statistically differences between pre and post-tests of the total achievement test of the experimental group in favor of the post- test, and significance statistically differences between pre and post-tests of the total inclinations towards study exam of the experimental group in favor of the post exam.
