This bibliography provides an index to issues 21 through 25 of the USSR Space Life Sciences Digest. There are two sections. The first section lists bibliographic citations of abstracts in these issues, grouped by topic area categories. The second section provides a key word index for the same abstracts. The topic categories include exobiology, space medicine and psychology, human performance and man-machine systems, various life/body systems, human behavior and adaptation, biospherics, and others.

The USSR Space Life Sciences Digest contains abstracts of 37 papers recently published in Russian language periodicals and bound collections and of five new Soviet monographs. Selected abstracts are illustrated with figures and tables from the original. Additional features include the translation of a book chapter concerning use of biological rhythms as a basis for cosmonaut selection, excerpts from the diary of a participant in a long-term isolation experiment, and a picture and description of the Mir space station. Pulsed power in all its varied meanings is showing no sign of abatement in activity. It is becoming a technology of increasing importance in numerous new and novel applications, growing from its well-established base in energy and defense related research and development. One indication of its vitality is this digest of Technical Papers for the 2nd IEEE International Pulsed Power Conference. The organizers were counseled by many that there would not be enough material that could be covered at this meeting nor would there be a sufficient diversity of interest. However, from our first such conference during November 1976, held in Lubbock as well, we have recorded a fifty percent increase in attendance to almost 300, with well over 100 invited and contributed presentations. There were twenty-five attendees from 10 foreign countries. As a result of this growth and with the realization that this conference serves as the principal forum for the exchange of information in the highly specialized and unique field of pulsed power technology, several actions and events have taken place. First the present technical program committee have been designated a permanent standing committee to organize and maintain this conference series. Secondly, we have agreed to hold this meeting biennially, alternating with the well-known Modulator Symposium.

This is the sixteenth issue of NASA's USSR Life Sciences Digest. Often colleges and universities that are just beginning to include technical communication in their curricula do so using faculty trained in traditional English doctorate programs. The conference was held at Eldorado Hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico from 19th to 22nd of March 97. The conference was sponsored and managed by Optical Society of America. Selected abstracts are illustrated with figures and tables from the original. A book review of a work on adaptation to stress is also included.
