Abstract:  This study investigated the prevalence, perceived risk factors and effects of enuresis among school-age children in Nsukka local government area. The study adopted a descriptive cross-sectional survey research design with a population of 7,794 Junior Secondary Students within the age range of 9-12years in the study area. Multi-stage sampling technique was employed to select a sample of 820 students from 10 selected schools. A structured questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. The reliability of the questionnaire was 0.86 Cronbach’s alpha showing a good internal consistency of the test items. Data were analysed using frequencies, percentages means and standard deviations. Findings showed that prevalence of bedwetting among the respondents was 17.8%, 14.6% among males and 24.4% among females. The prevalence of primary bedwetting was 12.7%, 5.0% experienced secondary bedwetting, 15.0% experienced nocturnal enuresis and 2.6% experienced diurnal bedwetting. Dreaming of urinating, drinking a lot of fluid before bed and cold weather were some of the risk factors of bedwetting identified by the respondents. Some of the effects of bedwetting identified by the respondents were that bedwetting children often smell bad and bedwetting makes children feel sad. Preventive, curative, hygiene management and reinforcement strategies for enuresis were identified by the respondents. It was concluded that bedwetting negatively affects children in such ways as making them have an offensive smell, sad feelings, mockery and loss of respect from friends. School authorities should therefore make out time within the school year, to create awareness and teach school children about enuresis to reduce the stigma and embarrassment they face.

The study determined the optimal selling point and production efficiency of catfish farmers in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi state, Nigeria. Simple random sampling technique was used in the selection of 60 respondents for the study.

States cannot depend upon the federal government to fund homeland security initiatives at the state and local level. This thesis, therefore, examined alternatives states and local units of government might use to fund homeland security initiatives, ranging from conventional alternatives such as, asset forfeiture, sales taxes, congestion fees and multi-year budgeting with the addition of a \"rainy day\" fund, to less conventional options like public/private partnerships and innovative investment strategies, mirroring the Kansas Economic Growth Act for biosciences. The policy options analysis revealed that while most of these options have some merit or suitability for some jurisdictions, none appears to be conclusively appropriate. The final recommendation of this thesis is, therefore, that homeland security professionals and emergency management directors take the initiative and determine in their jurisdiction which programs are the most critical. They then should approach the state executive budget office and request budget consideration for those priorities. The options discussed in this thesis should provide legislators and homeland security and emergency management professionals with innovative ideas and methods to develop innovative solutions to sustainability funding for state and local homeland security initiatives.

Potential state and local government users of information systems are classified in terms of categories of activities and levels of organizational function. The general information requirements of these users are described and categorized in terms of basic system capabilities. The existing situation in state and local government information systems is then described, indicating a need for more advanced, user-oriented techniques. Such methods and techniques currently available or under research and development are then surveyed. Brief descriptions are given of basic ideas or operating principles, along with reference to more detailed documentation. The paper concludes with several recommendations on how best to maximize transfer of knowledge, evaluate new procurements, and carry out new system design.

This study examined the relationship between effective educational planning and teaching staff performance among public secondary schools in Zamfara State, Nigeria. A research null hypothesis was established to guide the research work. The study adopted correlational survey design. The population of the study comprised 24 public secondary schools with 670 in-service teachers. From the population of the study, a total number of 12 public secondary schools and 225 in-service teachers were sampled to serve as participants in this study using simple random sampling technique. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan's (1971) table of determining sample size. Two (2) self-structured questionnaires entitle: "Effective Educational Planning Assessment Questionnaire (EEPAQ) and "Staff Performance Evaluation Questionnaire (SPEQ)" were constructed and utilized as instruments for data collection. The data analysis was computed using Descriptive Statistics and Inferential Statistics. The Pearson Moment Product Correlation Coefficient analysis results (r=0.514, P<0.05) revealed that there is a moderate but significant relationship between effective educational planning and school staff performance among public schools in Gusau Local Government Area, Zamfara State, Nigeria. Based on findings, the study recommends that in order to maintain the high level of the effectiveness of educational planning in Nigeria, the Federal, State, and Local, and Governments as well as other relevant international and local organizations should put hands on deck in employing more professional planners and deploy them to the ministries and agencies for effective planning of education.

It presents projections of State-local finance for fiscal years 1975 and 1980 that indicate general spending and revenues will grow at a pace that will tend to generate surpluses of some $13 billion in 1975 and $9 billion in 1980. The major element tending to mitigate the rise in spending is the expected leveling in enrollments in educational institutions and in the number of welfare recipients. The outlook for a somewhat higher rate of inflation in the seventies than in the sixties tends to narrow the full savings that might otherwise result. The publication suggests that the ability of States and localities to achieve a lasting state of financial balance is predicated on policy decisions on how potential surpluses will be used, future federal policy with respect to grant-in-aid programs, the manner in which the current controversy over local public school finance is resolved, and the willingness of State-local units to cut back from recent accelerated rates of expenditure growth to increases that are more in line with longer-term averages. The cost and returns from cattle marketing among farmers in Bade LGA, Yobe State, Nigeria were analyzed using structured questionnaires for data collection from 200 cattle farmers and analyzed with descriptive statistics and gross margin analysis . Findings showed that cattle farmers between the age of 40-59 years old dominated ownership of cattle (55.50%). Semi intensive system was still practiced with majority dependent on forage grazing for the animals. The mean gross margin per cattle was ₦ 32,448.58, the mean total revenue was ₦ 114,148.58 and the mean total (variable + fixed) cost was ₦ 81,700.00 while feed cost was the highest cost incurred by the respondents. It was recommended that extension workers and other relevant organizations should provide training for cattle farmers on the best way of combining the various inputs used in cattle production as this will enhance their efficiency level. Also, the use of alternative feed resources could help to solve the problem of high cost of feeding so as to ameliorate the problems faced by the farmers.
