In this paper, we have examined charged strange quark matter attached to the string cloud in the spherical symmetric space-time admitting one-parameter group of conformal motions. For this purpose, we have solved Einstein's field equations for spherical symmetric space-time with strange quark matter attached to the string cloud via conformal motions. Also, we have discussed the features of the obtained solutions.

The problems of hazardous radiation and collisions with matter on a warp driven ship pose considerable obstacles to this possibility for interstellar travel. A solution to these problems lies in the Broeck metric. It is demonstrated that both threats to the ship will be greatly reduced. It is also shown that the horizon problem no longer exists.

We elaborate the new interpretation of quantum theory that we recently proposed, according to which quantum particles are considered conceptual entities mediating between pieces of ordinary matter which are considered to act as memory structures for them. Our aim is to identify what is the equivalent for the human cognitive realm of what physical space-time is for the realm of quantum particles and ordinary matter. For this purpose, we identify the notion of 'story' as the equivalent within the human cognitive realm of what ordinary matter is in the physical quantum realm, and analyze the role played by the logical connectives of disjunction and conjunction with respect to the notion of locality. Similarly to what we have done in earlier investigations on this new quantum interpretation, we use the specific cognitive environment of the World-Wide Web to elucidate the comparisons we make between the human cognitive realm and the physical quantum realm.

We consider the asymptoic behaviour of the Chern - Simons (CS) theory with matter in curved space - time. The asymptotics of effective couplings are discussed.

We introduce a combined fully three-dimensional macroscopic/microscopic transport approach employing relativistic 3D-hydrodynamics for the early, dense, deconfined stage of the reaction and a microscopic non-equilibrium model for the later hadronic stage where the equilibrium assumptions are not valid anymore. Within this approach we study the dynamics of hot, bulk QCD matter, which is being created in ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions at RHIC. Our approach is capable of self-consistently calculating the freezeout of the hadronic system, while accounting for the collective flow on the hadronization hypersurface generated by the QGP expansion. In particular, we perform a detailed analysis of the reaction dynamics, hadronic freezeout, and transverse flow.

The correspondence between $f(R)$ theories of gravity and model theories explaining induced dark energy in a 5D Ricci-flat universe, known as the Space-Time-Matter theory (STM), is studied. It is shown that such correspondence may be used to interpret the four dimensional expressions, induced from geometry in 5D STM theories, in terms of the extra terms appearing in $f(R)$ theories of gravity. The method is demonstrated by providing an explicit example in which a given $f(R)$ is used to predict the properties of the corresponding 5D Ricci-flat universe. The accelerated expansion and the induced dark energy in a 5D Ricci-flat universe characterized by a big bounce is studied and it is shown that an arbitrary function $\mu(t)$ in the 5D solutions can be rewritten, in terms of the redshift $z$, as a new arbitrary function $F(z)$ which corresponds to the 4D curvature quintessence models.

Cosmic observations strongly support a time varying scenario for matter/space. On the other hand, so far, observations at solar system scale failed to identify any time variation on matter/space characteristics. To explain both results it is enough to consider a time variation of physical parameters liable to account for cosmic observations but satisfying Relativity Principle at least at local scale (we called it Local Relativity Property). Here, for the first time, a relativistic time varying scenario is defined from redshift and Cosmic Microwave Background characteristics. It is showed that it can match both cosmic and local data. Although undetectable in each local measure, such relativistic scenario has detectable time dependent consequences at Solar System scale, namely a receding component in the motion of the Moon, a past warmer climate and, this being new, an accelerating component in Earth rotation. A new class of cosmological models can now be explored, without concepts like dark matter, valid at both local and cosmic scale, and such that fundamental physical laws and Relativity Principle hold in any point of time and space.

In papers on primary state diffusion (Percival 1994, 1995), numerical estimates suggested that fluctuations in the space-time metric on the scale of the Planck time (10^-44s) could be detected using atom interferometers. In this paper we first specify a stochastic metric obtained from fluctuations that propagate with the velocity of light, and then develop the non-Markovian quantum state diffusion theory required to estimate the resulting decoherence effects on a model matter interferometer. Both commuting and non-commuting fluctuations are considered. The effects of the latter are so large that if they applied to some real atom interferometry experiments they would have suppressed the observed interference. The model is too crude to conclude that such fluctuations do not exist, but it does demonstrate that the small numerical value of the Planck time does not alone prevent experimental access to Planck-scale phenomena in the laboratory.

Following the famous Dirac equation, in which space, time and matter are all connected with spinor, this paper uses the combination of these spinors to express the state of quantum field in a new style - the global state. Thus, the state, state equation and action function of quantum fields are all expressed in an integrated system. Based upon this, it seems that the origin of the principle of least action, the intrinsic connection between classical mechanics and quantum theory can be fully exposed.

Quantum matter in quantum space-time is discussed using general properties of energy-conservation laws. As a rather radical conclusion, it is found that standard methods of differential geometry and quantum field theory on curved space-time are inapplicable in canonical quantum gravity, even at the level of effective equations.

This study examined the role of spatial vs. temporal codes for the representation of serial order information by presenting spatial or temporal secondary tasks during the completion of a verbal WM task. The secondary tasks were dot detection tasks designed to impact spatial processing (the dots appeared in random vs. left-to-right spatial order) or temporal processing (the dots appeared in regular vs. irregular temporal order). In two experiments, we observed an exclusive, interfering impact of the temporal secondary task on serial order WM while evidence for the null was observed for the impact of the spatial secondary task. These data provide support for an intervention of temporal processes in the encoding of serial order information in WM. Furthermore, the effect of temporal interference was not limited to WM for serial order information, but also disrupted WM for item information. These findings highlight the role of temporal processes in encoding both item and serial order information in WM, possibly by allowing binding of the two types of information.

In this letter, we present the Parkes-Siegel formulation for the massive Abelian $N$$=$$1$ super-{\QED} coupled to a self-dual supermultiplet, by introducing a chiral multiplier superfield. We show that after carrying out a suitable dimensional reduction from ($2$$+$$2$) to ($1$$+$$2$) dimensions, and performing some necessary truncations, the simple supersymmetric extension of the ${\tau}_{3}$QED$_{1+2}$ coupled to a Chern-Simons term naturally comes out.

In this paper, part 2 of that series, the author shows that the parameters of space (volume, distance) and time have limits (maximal values). The volume (distance), time contract (collapse) into a point under the specific density of the energy, matter, pressure, frequency, temperature, intensity of electric, magnetic, acceleration fields. The maximal temperature and force are independent from other conditions.

The possibility is raised that the observed cosmological matter-antimatter asymmetry may reside in asymmetric space-time fluctuations and their interplay with the St\"ckelberg-Feynman interpretation of antimatter. The presented thesis also suggests that the effect of space-time fluctuations is to diminish the fine structure constant in the past. Recent studies of the QSO absorption lines provide a 4.1 standard deviation support for this prediction. Our considerations suggest that in the presence of space-time fluctuations, the principle of local gauge invariance, and the related notion of parallel transport, must undergo fundamental changes.

An analysis about the antisymmetric tensor matter fields Avdeev-Chizhov theory in a curved space-time is performed. We show, in a curved spacetime, that the Avdeev-Chizhov theory can be seen as a kind of a $\lambda\phi^{4}$ theory for a "complex self-dual" field. This relationship between Avdeev-Chizhov theory and $\lambda\phi^{4}$ theory simplify the study of tensor matter fields in a curved space-time. The energy-momentum tensor for matter fields is computed.

An analysis about the antisymmetric tensor matter fields Avdeev-Chizhov theory in a curved space-time is performed. We show, in a curved spacetime, that the Avdeev-Chizhov theory can be seen as a kind of a $\lambda\phi^{4}$ theory for a "complex self-dual" field. This relationship between Avdeev-Chizhov theory and $\lambda\phi^{4}$ theory simplify the study of tensor matter fields in a curved space-time. The energy-momentum tensor for matter fields is computed.

We study a model of power-law inflationary inflation using the Space-Time-Matter (STM) theory of gravity for a five dimensional (5D) canonical metric that describes an apparent vacuum. In this approach the expansion is governed by a single scalar (neutral) quantum field. In particular, we study the case where the power of expansion of the universe is $p \gg 1$. This kind of model is more successful than others in accounting for galaxy formation.

The two main predictions of quantum field theory in curved space-time, namely Hawking radiation and cosmological pair production, have not been directly tested and involve ultra high energy configurations. As a consequence, they should be considered with caution. Using the analogy with condensed matter systems, their analogue versions could be tested in the lab. Moreover, the high energy behavior of these systems is known and involves dispersion and dissipation, which regulate the theory at short distances. When considering experiments which aim to test the above predictions, there will also be a competition between the stimulated emission from thermal noise and the spontaneous emission out of vacuum. In order to measure these effects, one should thus compute the consequences of UV dispersion and dissipation, and identify observables able to establish that the spontaneous emission took place. In this thesis, we first analyze the effects of dispersion and dissipation on both Hawking radiation and pair particle production. To get explicit results, we work in the context of de Sitter space. Using the extended symmetries of the theory in such a background, exact results are obtained. These are then transposed to the context of black holes using the correspondence between de Sitter space and the black hole near horizon region. To introduce dissipation, we consider an exactly solvable model producing any decay rate. We also study the quantum entanglement of the particles so produced. In a second part, we consider explicit condensed matter systems, namely Bose Einstein condensates and exciton-polariton systems. We analyze the effects of dissipation on entanglement produced by the dynamical Casimir effect. As a final step, we study the entanglement of Hawking radiation in the presence of dispersion for a generic analogue system.

Major descriptions are given on the background of LAP characteristics, metric system, profile graph construction, spectroscope operation, radiant energy measurement, sunspot effects, density determination, dimensions of the earth, and radius computation by use of shadows. The remaining LAPs grouped in the experiment category are concerned with the moon's origin and characteristics, radiation aspects, and identification of rocks and minerals. Tables of average summer temperatures in New Haven and annual sunspot numbers are included. Also provided is a list of slides on Apollo missions. (CC)

Over the past three years, our confidence in the inferred values of cosmological parameters has increased dramatically, confirming that the flat matter dominated Universe that dominated cosmological model building for the past 20 years does not correspond to the Universe in which we live. I review recent developments here and quote best fit current values for fundamental cosmological parameters.

Learning Activity Packages (LAP) relating to time, space, and matter are presented for use in sampling a new type of learning for a whole year. Besides the unit on introduction to individualized learning, 11 major topics are incorporated into three other units: (1) observation of the physical world, (2) space and exploration for environmental benefit of earth, and (3) exploring the planet earth. A set of self-directed activities is given in each topic, leading the students to learn on their own and participate in class discussions. Most activities are adopted from the content of earth science textbooks, while others are in connection with selected filmstrips and science series. Excerpts concerning the importance of information gained from moon, learning from the moon, geology of Apollo 15 moon landing site, man's changing view of the earth, and keeping up to date on the moon are included along with a message to citizens of tomorrow. Pretests, self-evaluation tests, and posttests are used in evaluation. As appendices, two remedial units dealing with calculation with decimals and scientific notation of numbers are provided. (CC)

We also find that the repulsive force of the phantom may provide us with a mechanics to explain the bounce.

This attractor solution shows that the scale factors of the phantom dominated universes in both the 4D and $5D$ theories will reach infinity in a finite time and the universes will be ended at a new kind of spacetime singularity at which everything will be annihilated. We also find that the repulsive force of the phantom may provide us with a mechanics to explain the bounce.
