Abstract This study examined the impact of servant leadership on organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB), employee wellbeing, and workplace trust within service-oriented industries. Drawing on a quantitative research design, data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to 320 employees across hospitality, healthcare, and customer service sectors. The findings revealed that servant leadership significantly enhanced OCB by fostering a culture of empathy, collaboration, and voluntary contributions beyond formal job responsibilities. Moreover, servant leadership was found to positively influence employee wellbeing by reducing stress, promoting psychological safety, and strengthening intrinsic motivation. Workplace trust emerged as a critical mediating factor, amplifying the relationship between servant leadership and positive employee outcomes. Statistical analysis using regression models confirmed that employees were more likely to demonstrate higher OCB and report improved wellbeing when trust in leadership was present. The results underscore the importance of servant leadership as a transformative leadership approach capable of sustaining organizational performance and employee engagement in highly competitive service environments. Practical implications include embedding servant leadership principles into leadership development programs, HR policies, and organizational culture to cultivate trust-based, people-cantered workplaces. Future research directions include cross-sectoral studies, longitudinal designs, and exploration of demographic moderators to broaden the understanding of servant leadership’s applicability across contexts. The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of secondary school administrators' servant leadership behavior on teachers' organizational commitment. This research was designed based on the relational screening model. The population of the study consists of 753 secondary school teachers. 438 teachers from the total population participated in the study. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics such as percent, frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and other statistical techniques such as ANOVA, t-test, and regression analysis were used. According to the research findings, school administrators have some modest and responsible managerial, empowerment and forgiveness behaviors. Teachers' level of adaptation of organizational commitment is moderate and is found to be at a high level in the sub-dimension of identification and internalization. Teachers' views on organizational commitment do not differ according to gender, marital status or seniority. Teachers' views of school administrators on servant leadership behaviors do not differ according to their marital status but differ according to their gender and seniority.

Student satisfaction with advising is positively linked to first-year student retention and sophomore persistence to their senior year. However, inconsistencies in the advising literature confound conclusions about the most effective advising approach to elicit student satisfaction. Positive links between the servant leadership approach and advising behaviors have been shown, but student satisfaction remains unexamined. We investigate student satisfaction with servant leadership--based advising. Utilizing hierarchical multiple regression analysis, we found positive correlations between servant leadership and student satisfaction with advising. In particular, advisors' altruistic behaviors elicited the greatest impact on student satisfaction. Implications for practice include advancing advising pedagogy and improving advisor selection and professional development.

The digitalisation of educational communities has increased rapidly in the last decade. Modern technologies transform the way educational leaders such as teachers, tutors, deans and supervisors view and manage their educational communities. More often, educational leaders offer a variety of gateways, guiding the e-learners in their search for finding and understanding information. A new type of leader is required for understanding the needs and requirements of geographically dispersed e-learners. This calls for a compassioned kind of leader, able to reconcile the dilemma of high-tech versus hi-touch in the online classroom. This article examines servant-leadership and its implications for e-learning in the 24/7 classroom where community building is key. (Contains 1 endnote.)

Servant leadership is one of the most important forms of leadership and some authors and experts even consider servant leaders to be among the best leaders. The purpose of this quantitative research study is to examine the relationship between teachers’ perceptions of their principals’ servant leadership style and teacher job satisfaction. The target population of the study was teachers. There are eight public schools in this district; all are similar with respect to the school buildings, curricula, number of teachers and students, and their socioeconomic status. Two separate survey instruments were used for this study: Liden et al.’s (2008) Servant Leadership Questionnaire (SLQ), which is a validated survey instrument that identifies seven dimensions of servant leadership characteristics. Mohrman et al.’s (1977) Mohrman–Cooke–Mohrman job satisfaction survey (MCMJSS) also was administered to measure the teachers’ job satisfaction. The data was formatted using Qualtrics survey software and all data were analyzed in SPSS v. 24. The results from the data analysis indicated that teachers do perceive their school leaders’ behavior reflects servant leadership characteristics and also showed a significant positive correlation between teachers’ perceptions of their principals’ servant leadership and their job satisfaction. The findings of this study indicate that the positive correlation between servant leadership and job satisfaction. This field of research can continue to examine if this relationship exists as an embedded part of specific cultures or if it is inherently true that those who lead through service contribute to a greater sense of job satisfaction despite any differences in job category, pay scales, or cultural differences. Moreover, the results were consistent with the theoretical framework with respect to servant leadership theory and job satisfaction, and with the results of previous research.

Andy Byrd teaches on the leadership of Jesus, calling young leaders to follow His example and humble themselves. He emphasizes the counter cultural servant heartedness Jesus exemplified and urges us to do the same. He asked Christians to look beyond simple acts of service and really capture the culture of leadership according to Jesus.

This paper has analyzed the leadership style of a recognized leader Mahatma Gandhi of India. His unconventional leadership is studied through the lenses of two theories;  Gronn’s theory of leadership as a career and Greenleaf’s servant leadership.  It was clear that Gandhi’s leadership was basically nurtured by various systems of the environment and his particular life experiences. His leadership best aligned with all fundamental principles of a ‘servant leadership’ in vision, integrity, modeling, honesty and empowerment of the community for better life and living.
