Oliver Twist and Huckleberry Finn are the main heroes of Charles Dickens and Mark Twain. Both of the heroes are depicted in the novels as child. Their childhood was described differently. Being children they experienced various adventures. Oliver Twist lived in very harsh conditions. Being orphan he met lots of people both cruel and kind. However, Huckleberry Finn was naughty and he had loving relatives. Authors wrote realistic live in a critical way. This work opens the ways of childhood depiction in novels.

General Mills Radio Adventure TheaterThe series had it origins in the meeting of two minds: the ad agency for General Mills at the time, Dancer-Fitzgerald-Sample was looking for a different means to reach a child audience besides television, which was decreasing commercial minutes and increasing costs; and Himan Brown, producer-director of the CBS Radio Mystery Theater, who wanted to introduce new audiences to the dramatic form on radio. Tom Bosley was chosen as the host because of his television recognition from a kidas oriented series, Happy Days. CBS chose to produce 52 original broadcasts followed by 52 repeat broadcasts. I believe they had hoped to maintain General Mills sponsorship during the complete 104 episodes, but General Mills dropped their sponsorship after the original broadcasts. The series continued for the next 52 repeats as the CBS Radio Adventure Theater.

The immortal characters of Charles Dickens' classic novel come to life in this film., Oliver Twist, a penniless orphan in 19th century London is fleeing the cruelty of the workhouse and he's forced to join a band of young thieves headed by the notorious Fagin and the evil Bill Sikes. But when the greedy cutthroats threaten Oliver's only chance for happiness, the gentle-hearted boy must summon the courage to fight for his freedom and future.  David Lean's masterpiece.
