1Model Theory Of Partial Differential Fields: From Commuting To Noncommuting Derivations

By

McGrail has shown the existence of a model completion for the universal theory of fields on which a finite number of commuting derivations act and, independently, Yaffe has shown the existence of a model completion for the univeral theory of fields on which a fixed Lie algebra acts as derivations. We show how to derive the second result from the first.

7Additive Polynomials And Their Role In The Model Theory Of Valued Fields

By

We discuss the role of additive polynomials and $p$-polynomials in the theory of valued fields of positive characteristic and in their model theory. We outline the basic properties of rings of additive polynomials and discuss properties of valued fields of positive characteristic as modules over such rings. We prove the existence of Frobenius-closed bases of algebraic function fields $F|K$ in one variable and deduce that $F/K$ is a free module over the ring of additive polynomials with coefficients in $K$. Finally, we prove that every minimal purely wild extension of a henselian valued field is generated by a $p$-polynomial.

9Model Theory Of Finite-by-Presburger Abelian Groups And Finite Extensions Of $p$-adic Fields

By

We define a class of pre-ordered abelian groups that we call finite-by-Presburger groups, and prove that their theory is model-complete. We show that certain quotients of the multiplicative group of a local field of characteristic zero are finite-by-Presburger and interpret the higher residue rings of the local field. We apply these results to give a new proof of the model completeness in the ring language of a local field of characteristic zero (a result that follows also from work of Prestel-Roquette).

11On Model Theory Of Covers Of Algebraically Closed Fields

By

We study covers of the multiplicative group of an algebraically closed field as quasiminimal pregeometry structures and prove that they satisfy the axioms for Zariski-like structures presented in \cite{lisuriart}, section 4. These axioms are intended to generalize the concept of a Zariski geometry into a non-elementary context. In the axiomatization, it is required that for a structure $\M$, there is, for each $n$, a collection of subsets of $\M^n$, that we call the \emph{irreducible sets}, satisfying certain properties. These conditions are generalizations of some qualities of irreducible closed sets in the Zariski geometry context. They state that some basic properties of closed sets (in the Zariski geometry context) are satisfied and that specializations behave nicely enough. They also ensure that there are some traces of Compactness even though we are working in a non-elementary context.

12The Algebra And Model Theory Of Tame Valued Fields

By

A henselian valued field $K$ is called a tame field if its algebraic closure $\tilde{K}$ is a tame extension, that is, the ramification field of the normal extension $\tilde{K}|K$ is algebraically closed. Every algebraically maximal Kaplansky field is a tame field, but not conversely. We develop the algebraic theory of tame fields and then prove Ax-Kochen-Ershov Principles for tame fields. This leads to model completeness and completeness results relative to value group and residue field. As the maximal immediate extensions of tame fields will in general not be unique, the proofs have to use much deeper valuation theoretical results than those for other classes of valued fields which have already been shown to satisfy Ax-Kochen-Ershov Principles. The results of this paper have been applied to gain insight in the Zariski space of places of an algebraic function field, and in the model theory of large fields.

13The Metron Model. Towards A Unified Deterministic Theory Of Fields And Particles

By

A conceptual summary is given of a deterministic unified field and particle theory (the metron model) developed in more mathematical detail in a four-part paper published in Physics Essays (1996/97). The model is developed from Einsteins vacuum gravitational equations, Ricci tensor $R_{LM}=0$, in a higher dimensional space. It is postulated that the equations support soliton-type solutions (metrons) which reproduce all the basic field equations of quantum field theory, including not only the Maxwell-Dirac-Einstein system, but also all fields and symmetries of the Standard Model. Bell's theorem on the non-existence of hidden-variable models of quantum phenomena is circumvented through the time-reversal symmetry of all interactions on microphysical scales. The model, when completed, should yield all particle properties and universal physical constants from first principles.

14Evolution Of Brane-Localised Standard Model Fields In Gauss-Bonnet Theory

By

We study the massless scalar, Dirac and electro-magnetic fields propagating on a 4D-brane, which is embedded in higher dimensional Gauss-Bonnet space-time. We calculate, in time-domain, the fundamental quasi-normal modes of a spherically symmetric black hole for such fields. We observe also a universal behavior, independent on a field and value of the Gauss-Bonnet parameter, at asymptotically late time.

Generalising and unifying the known theorems for difference and differential fields, it is shown that for every finite free ${\mathbb S}$-algebra ${\mathcal D}$ over a field $A$ of characteristic zero the theory of ${\mathcal D}$-fields has a model companion ${\mathcal D}$-CF$_0$ which is simple and satisfies the Zilber dichotomy for finite-dimensional minimal types.

18Standard Model Fields As Emergent Excitations Of Spacetime: A Mechanism From The Grand Unified Field Theory Of Asymmetry

By

Title: Standard Model Fields as Emergent Excitations of Spacetime: A Mechanism from the Grand Unified Field Theory of Asymmetry Description: This paper proposes a radical unification of matter and geometry within the Grand Unified Field Theory of Asymmetry (GUFT), in which all fields—including those of the Standard Model (SM)—emerge from a single ontological substrate: the Dark Energy Quantum Field (DEQF). Building on earlier GUFT work that models spacetime and gravity as coherent phases of the DEQF, this study argues that SM gauge bosons, fermions, and the Higgs field likewise arise as structured excitations and topological defects in the DEQF condensate. Key proposals include: Gauge fields emerge as local coherence modes tied to residual DEQF symmetries. Fermions appear as chiral topological defects stabilized by the graviton vacuum. The Higgs field represents a scalar modulation of DEQF amplitude, with mass generated from local coherence distortion. Anomaly cancellation becomes a topological constraint on allowed DEQF configurations, offering a geometric explanation for the observed structure of matter generations. This approach implies a dissolution of the traditional divide between quantum fields and geometry, presenting all physical phenomena as emergent from one coherent quantum substrate. The paper outlines implications for nonlinear field mixing, potential deviations in high-curvature regimes, and new unifying symmetries beyond the Standard Model. 19Perturbation Theory In Angular Quantization Approach And The Expectation Values Of Exponential Fields In Sin-Gordon Model

By

In angular quantization approach a perturbation theory for the Massive Thirring Model (MTM) is developed, which allows us to calculate Vacuum Expectation Values of exponential fields in sin-Gordon theory near the free fermion point in first order of MTM coupling constant $g$. The Hankel-transforms play an important role when carrying out this calculations. The expression we have found coincides with that of the direct expansion over $g$ of the exact formula conjectured by S.Lukyanov and A.Zamolodchikov.

20Perturbation Theory In Radial Quantization Approach And The Expectation Values Of Exponential Fields In Sine-Gordon Model

By

A perturbation theory for Massive Thirring Model (MTM) in radial quantization approach is developed. Investigation of the twisted sector in this theory allows us to calculate the vacuum expectation values of exponential fields $ exp iaphi (0) $ of the sine-Gordon theory in first order over Massive Thirring Models coupling constant. It appears that the apparent difficulty in radial quantization of massive theories, namely the explicite ''time'' dependence of the Hamiltonian, may be successfully overcome. The result we have obtained agrees with the exact formula conjectured by Lukyanov and Zamolodchikov and coincides with the analogous calculations recently carried out in dual angular quantization approach by one of the authors.

21The Model Theory Of Separably Tame Valued Fields

A henselian valued field $K$ is called separably tame if its separable-algebraic closure $K^{\operatorname{sep}}$ is a tame extension, that is, the ramification field of the normal extension $K^{\operatorname{sep}}|K$ is separable-algebraically closed. Every separable-algebraically maximal Kaplansky field is a separably tame field, but not conversely. In this paper, we prove Ax-Kochen-Ershov Principles for separably tame fields. This leads to model completeness and completeness results relative to the value group and residue field. As the maximal immediate extensions of separably tame fields are in general not unique, the proofs have to use much deeper valuation theoretical results than those for other classes of valued fields which have already been shown to satisfy Ax-Kochen-Ershov Principles. Our approach also yields alternate proofs of known results for separably closed valued fields.
