If there is one question which anyone with knowledge (actual or purported) of a religious or spiritual path will speak about, it is the perennial question of those things which someone (read: you) should or should not do. Or perhaps more directly, those things which folks like you and I either must or must not do. Sometimes it is on the level of the Sunday school teacher who tells the children that Jesus wants them to brush their teeth. In other cases, it can be round after round of debate, whether in a covenstead or in the common room of a seminary dormitory. Among Wiccans, you will often see this "colored" by discussions of what might be "white magick", "gray magick", or "black magick." And sometimes, it is hard to draw the line. Or, did you draw the line correctly? Or is this a case where you can modify what you are doing so that it can be on the better side of that line. Or is it even a line? This book presents a look at the "big picture." Is sexual harassment common? What kinds of behaviors are taking place? Who is being harassed, and who is doing the harassing? For students who admit to harassing others, why do they do it? How does sexual harassment affect students' educational experience? What do students think should be done about sexual harassment on campus? This report analyzes findings from a nationally representative survey of undergraduate college students commissioned by the American Association of University Women Educational Foundation and conducted by Harris Interactive in spring 2005. The report is part of AAUW's continuing work to address the problem of sexual harassment in education. It reveals that colleges and universities still have work to do to foster a campus climate that is free from bias and harassment so that all students have an equal opportunity to excel in higher education. As this research documents, most college students experience some type of sexual harassment while at college, often during their first year. This book contains four chapters: (1) Defining Sexual Harassment on Campus; (2) Prevalence of Sexual Harassment on Campus; (3) Dealing With Sexual Harassment on Campus; and (4) Implications. When is a religious expression acceptable, and when is it intolerable? With religious diversity being increasingly a topic of debate in Western European societies, it becomes important to study where the public draws this boundary. This study uses single-profile conjoint experiment asking respondents if the situation described is acceptable. We vary who is speaking, what is said, and where it takes place, allowing us to separately estimate the impact of different contextual attributes on decisions to tolerate religious expressions. Moreover, we can see if these effects are stronger when it concerns a speaker from a majority religion (Christian) compared to a minority religion (Muslim). In doing this, this study is the first to model how the interplay between individual characteristics and contextual attributes shapes tolerance decisions about religious expressions in an intergroup setting of concrete civil liberty controversies.

Individuals fulfill responsibilities for roles in multiple domains (e.g., the role of employee, boss, mother, caregiver, or friend) and the domains in which the responsibilities of each role are met are separated by literal and figurative boundaries (Ashforth et al., 2000; Clark, 2000). Boundary management, or the ways in which demarcations between domains are created or upheld, is important for understanding how responsibilities for competing roles are met for individuals in a variety of situations (Desrochers & Sargent, 2004). These boundaries can be thought of in terms of their permeability, flexibility, and strength (Ashforth et al., 2000; Clark, 2000). Other constructs, including but not limited to boundary enactment (Wepfer et al., 2018), boundary management fit (Ammons, 2013; Bogaerts et al., 2018), segmentation supplies and preferences (Kreiner, 2006), interdomain transitions (Matthews et al., 2010), and boundary strength (Hecht & Allen, 2009), all contribute to the developing understanding of this field. However, as boundary management research progresses, novel application of approaches and the development of new constructs has potentially led to a current state of entropy. Concerns of a jingle fallacy (i.e., two distinct constructs are given the same name, leading to conflation) and a jangle fallacy (i.e., two similar constructs have different names, falsely differentiating the two) have been brought to light numerous times (e.g., Allen et al., 2013; Allen et al., 2014; Desrochers & Sargent, 2004; Shockley et al., 2017; Wepfer et al., 2018). The conceptual overlap or failure to adequately distinguish boundary management constructs needs to be clarified so that boundary management research can progress in an insightful and meaningful fashion. This qualitative systematic review aims to clarify, outline, and synthesize boundary management constructs in order to better distinguish the content domain.

However, there is no evidence of activity of the human mirror neuron system during the observation of intransitive movements by shadows and line drawings of hands. This study examined the suppression of electroencephalography mu waves (8–13 Hz) induced by observation of stimuli in 18 healthy students. Three stimuli were used: real hand actions, hand shadow actions and actions made by line drawings of hands. The results showed significant desynchronization of the mu rhythm (“mu suppression”) across the sensorimotor cortex (recorded at C3, Cz and C4), the frontal cortex (recorded at F3, Fz and F4) and the central and right posterior parietal cortex (recorded at Pz and P4) under all three conditions. Our experimental findings suggest that the observation of “impoverished hand actions”, such as intransitive movements of shadows and line drawings of hands, is able to activate widespread cortical areas related to the putative human mirror neuron system.
