No printing required ================== Ok, to be honest, I wanted to print something; but seeing ptajdus' design reminded me on that IKEA bag clips,... so I tried a little (in fact 10 Seconds literally) et voilá ... What you need -------------------- * 2 small IKEA bag clips * 1 sheet of paper towel (or a tissue as well, whatever you like) * 2 rubber loops (the longer the better) * 1 double sided velcro Steps (see pictures) ------------- - bind the rubber loops with velcro - fold sheet of paper into an accordion - clip both ends of the accordion with the ikea bag clips, and unfold to form a cup-like structure - understand how the rubber and the velcro attach to the IKEA clips on both sides and if understood, remove - with one hand, hold the paper cup to your face - with the other hand, attach one rubber to the IKEA clip on one side - pull it around your back head and attach it to the IKEA clip on the other side - adjust strength of rubber pull by shortening or lengthening the velcro loop - or remove rubber bands with longer or shorter ones Modifications / optimizations ------------------- - print the IKEAS clips by yourself ;-) or use original makers' approach - use comfortable tissue instead of paper towel - let your children paint funny pictures on the paper towel (or the tissue) - strengthen the mask by gluing the ends and/or enforcing the upper/lower parts with cardboard - to optimize protection, use two sheets instead of one - if you want to replace the IKEA clips by self made ones (we are makers, anyway), you could use the clips here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:330151/files; i attached one of these to my files for easier access. Reading is the prime foundation of one's academic and social status. However, this vital skill is what most students lack attention and interest. As a result, it deteriorates their critical thinking skills. To address the problem, Harvey Daniel introduced his literature circle strategy. It showcases different features that likely aid student's struggles in the aspect of reading. This study, therefore, aims to determine the effectiveness of the literature circle strategy in improving critical thinking skills in reading among students at the University of Cebu-Banilad Campus. The study utilized a quasi-experimental method where the 48 ABM Grade 12 research subjects of the study were divided into two groups, namely: control and experimental. Strategies employed in these groups were different. The traditional method was practiced in the control group, while the literature circle strategy was implemented in the experimental group. For data gathering, a researcher-made test about the short story "Dead Stars" by Paz Marquez Benitez was used as the main instrument. Another short story entitled "The Small Key" by Paz Latorena was used as a springboard in the implementation of strategies for both groups. Statistical treatments used for data analysis were simple percent, t-test for Correlational Samples, and t-test for Two Independent Samples. Findings revealed that in measuring subjects' critical thinking skills in reading, there is a significant difference between the posttest performances of the groups. The research subjects under experimental group performed higher than the control group. The study concludes that literature circle strategy is effective in enhancing student's critical thinking skills in reading.

Split flap displays were widely used in railway stations, airports etc. I loved watching the boards of the rolling characters. They have mostly been replaced with electronic devices nowadays, The module here is based on a popular cheap stepper motor, 28BYJ-48, driven by arduino. The design represents a single position of a character. It can store 32 characters in it (this is the number of flaps). The motor is hidden inside the body cylinder, so the duplicated devices can be easily placed in a row to make the entire words. No pulleys, no timing belts. Note 1. The design does not contain any handle. Use two M4 screws to mount it to your preferred base or drill whatever holes you need in the motor holder piece. I used a thick wire to make the temporary stand. Note 2. The thick wire is also used to set the flipping point of the top flap in this prototype. It was the easiest way to tune the correct position; however, it's just a stopgap solution. For the final design it could be printed extension of the handle or just the front panel. Note 3. There is no position sensor. The driver keeps counting the steps to identify the currently displayed character. It is not reliable method though. The motor does not make the perfect angle per step, probably due to the gearing. It can be dealt with by adjusting the driver code, but in the long run this particular split-flap is better suited to work as a dice than a display :-) Enjoy the flipping!

Print out 2 plates and use the flexible foam earplugs from any hardware store. Position the plates about 0.5" apart and use medium CA to secure all top and bottom holes to the earplugs. All that is left is to put some Velcro on the top plate to hold the camera on and some Velcro on the bottom of the bottom plate to hold it to the air frame and you are set! Just with balancing the props on my tricopter combined with this mount, I get rock solid completely jello free footage with my mobius wide version. I measured my iPhone 5 together with its case and made a small holder to mount it on an Arca Swiss compatible head for timelapse recording. Case dimensions: 127x11 mm. I made a cut on the right side to the headphone port (you can use Volume + button on the headphone wire as a shutter button) and another cut on the bottom right part if you wish to control your iPhone's Camera app with the Volume + button.

We have analyzed dynamics on the complex free energy landscape of protein folding in the FOLD-X model, by calculating for each state of the system the mean first passage time to the folded state. The resulting kinetic map of the folding process shows that it proceeds in jumps between well-defined, local free energy minima. Closer analysis of the different local minima allows us to reveal secondary, parallel pathways as well as dead ends.

I'm using a modified Bebop 2 which has a heavier battery on the back. This allows me to put more weight on the front without messing up the balance. This is a cheap, simple, easily printable magnet holder for solid 6mm rod or tube based arms, designed to connect to a 10mm steel ball bearing which you can epoxy to your end effector or linear carriage. It uses cheap magnets and washers available for pennies on eBay. Simply fit a 10mm dia x 5mm tall magnet available readily online, using a dab of thin Cyano-Acrylate ("CA" or "Super") glue. Use another dab to fix your precisely measured solid carbon/aluminium/etc rod or tube into the other end, butting it up against the back of the magnet. Finish off with another dab of CA to hold a dirt cheap M5 nylon washer to the face of the magnet as the bushing and grease pocket. When the bushing wears out, pop it out with a craft knife or spudger (CA glue doesn't hold the nylon very hard) and fit in another. The "Extended" version is exactly the same but takes 10x10 magnets or two of the 10x5 stacked to add extra pull for heavier extruders and longer arms. This part was developed as part of a whole printer design, but I thought people might want to adapt it for other setups. It should scale quite easily to larger magnets and rods.

First I just wanted to make the upmost holder but later on I modelled the rest. I tried to print Micha's skeleton but the bottom half broken a couple of times so I decided instead of wasting more filament I'll build my own. James's story, however, almost certainly has an autobiographical side to it, perhaps itself criticizing those critics who couldn't see, or wouldn't see, the figures lost in the carpet of his own writing. Morgan, who is highly intelligent, is also precocious and perceptive enough to come to understand his parents' ambitious aimlessness. Something of a crisis develops when the Moreens fail to make good on the salary they've promised Pemberton, and he leaves, needing a steady income. By then, however, the tutor has become sufficiently interested in and attached to his charge to be unwilling to leave Morgan for long, and comes back to join the family when when Morgan's mother tells him the boy has fallen ill. The recently widowed Adela Gereth, a lover of beauty and passionate collector of fine objects, strikes up a friendship with the young Fleda Vetch, when both of them find themselves guests in the tasteless house of Brigstock family. Mrs. Gereth fears that her son Owen, an honorable but somewhat unimaginative young man, may take up with one of the Brigstock girls, and indeed he presently announces his engagement to Mona, the eldest daughter. That means that Mrs. Gereth will have to leave Poynton, the beautiful house that she and her husband filled with the furniture, china, tapestries, and other objects that they lovingly collected over the years. It is not so much possessiveness that drives Mrs. Gereth to want to maintain control over them (or so she claims, at any rate), but rather the sense that she will have failed if Mona, understanding and appreciating nothing of what Poynton contains, should become Owen's wife and take charge. The story and its developing conflicts are seen largely from the point of view of Fleda Vetch, the young woman who, her moral and aesthetic sensibilities tuned perhaps as finely as any of James's protagonists, finds herself caught in the middle.
