Although, research integrity (RI) has been traditionally defined as the opposite of research misconduct (1), there is increasing acknowledgement that RI is also about improving research quality and relevance (2, 3). RI is not only influenced by the attitudes and behaviors of individual researchers, but by the entire system of science (4-6). For instance, the incentive structure and culture of publication in research have strong ramifications for RI (4). Furthermore, multiple research stakeholders play a role in how research is conducted, including research performing and research funding organizations (RPOs and RFOs); these have a responsibility in promoting and supporting responsible research practices (7). Therefore, fostering RI is a complex – even what is referred to as a ‘wicked’ (8) – endeavor, since it requires adequately addressing the interplay of various factors and stakeholders that have an impact on research (7). In a recent study we conducted as part of the Standard Operating Procedures for Research Integrity (SOPs4RI) project, we identified a number of topics that RPOs and RFOs should address to effectively foster RI and build a comprehensive RI system in their institutions (9, Preprint). While there are guidance documents that address some of these topics from an organizational perspective (e.g. dealing with breaches of RI), others (e.g. research environment) are currently not adequately addressed by good quality guidance documents which are publicly available (10, 11). The lack of guidance available on some of the topics (the ‘underdeveloped’ topics) makes it difficult for RPOs and RFOs to know which institutional policies to implement, and how, in order to increase RI. To help RPOs and RFOs develop and implement effective institutional RI policies, it is important to design standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines on underdeveloped RI topics, that are practical and to-the-point, meet the needs of end-users and are feasible to implement. Co-creation –in which researchers acknowledge and encourage end-users as active, equal contributors to the goals at stake (12) – can be helpful to achieve this (13). There are a few features of co-creation that make it a suitable methodology for producing new institutional SOPs/guidelines on RI for RPOs and RFOs. First, engaging stakeholders not only in the implementation phase of guideline development, but also in the front-end of the design process (i.e. guideline ideation and production) allows for the creation of of guidelines that end-users (e.g. institutional policy makers) find helpful and are likely to use, thereby increasing the likelihood of implementation. Secondly, co-creation incorporates design methodology to promote out-of-the-the-box thinking (12), which is crucial to finding innovative solutions to deal with the complexity of RI (i.e. the interplay of factors that influence it). Finally, by asking stakeholders to not only ‘say’ (e.g. talk about their dream vacation) as in traditional qualitative methods, but also to ‘make’ and ‘do’ (e.g. drawing their dream vacation or engaging in role playing), co-creation exposes stakeholders’ latent values, which they themselves might not be consciously aware of (12). Exploring stakeholders’ values is important to obtain a sufficient depth of understanding about RPOs’ and RFOs’ needs, wants and concerns on the topics at hand. Therefore, in SOPs4RI, we are conducting co-creation workshops to develop content for underdeveloped topics we have identified as important to address in the institutional RI policies of RPOs and RFOs. This protocol outlines the co-creation methods that we will use in the process of guideline creation in the SOPs4RI project. Aims Our co-creation workshops have three main aims: 1. Develop ‘skeleton guidelines’ (rough version drafts of a guideline) on a selection of RI topics, targeted at the institutional level of RPOs and RFOs, together with RPO and RFO stakeholders. 2. Explore which guideline formats stakeholders prefer, regarding issues such guideline prescriptiveness, level of detail, guideline structure, etc. 3. Identify potential implementation issues of the created skeleton guidelines and explore ways to address them.

This brief on including student voice, agency, and co-creation in education decision-making proceeds from the premise that successfully transforming education systems to be more student centered involves addressing four key elements: Individual Mindsets, Interpersonal Relationships, Community Culture, and Structural and Systemic Supports. The brief is adapted from and expands on a 2021 blog--"To Achieve Racial Equity in Education, Include Students as Co-Creators"--and draws on key concepts presented through the Equity Accelerator project in California. In particular, it draws from an Equity Accelerator professional learning session hosted by two student leaders and experts in youth engagement, leadership, and equity: Zoë Jenkins and Zachary Patterson (Jenkins & Patterson, 2021). This session sparked productive conversations among Equity Accelerator Fellows about how to better engage students in racial equity efforts. Although many of the strategies presented in this brief apply to all initiatives that aim to feature student voices, the focus on racial equity prompted special consideration of how these concepts apply to students of the global majority--the students whom the Equity Accelerator Fellows aimed to better serve through their efforts. Therefore, in addition to offering ideas for effectively implementing student voice initiatives generally, this brief specifically includes ideas for advancing racial equity. Definition of co-creation

Placemaking is about people, about living together, about a sense of belonging and carving spaces together, about co- creation and sharing stories. And it is crucial for society, especially now as it enters a new dimension in times of a global pandemic that affects us all. What will placemaking look like after COVID-19? What did we learn and what can we take with us to the future? How will we socialise, move from one place to another, (inter)act with and in public spaces after the pandemic? These questions guided a series of four online sessions which were held between the 7th and 30th of April (2020), connecting placemaking with the future of cities, tourism, the arts, urban design and digital storytelling. Experts and other interested persons were brought together across borders to discuss possible ways forward by learning from good practices. The response was overwhelming, both from the speakers that were contacted to take part, and from the diverse participants eager to share and exchange ideas. The discussions were rich, intense and generated much food for thought. This publication is the result of an inclusive thinking process with all participants, offering a reflective and critical lens on placemaking. It works as a toolkit, gathering the presentations and giving insight in the main topics and strong examples that emerged from the discussions. It also lists key points to consider whilst working with communities and involving people in a co-creation process. This series ends with a non-exhaustive reading list as there are many interesting papers, reports and links to learn from. Thank you to all the speakers and participants, because without them there would have been no publication. The concept of migration refers to moving from the usual place of residence to an alternative location. As part of this concept, the term “migrant” typically encompasses many different groups, including asylum seekers, refugees, undocumented migrants, internationally displaced persons, labor migrants, and other populations on the move (International Organization for Migration [IOM], n.d.). Migrants may experience a range of risk factors that confer vulnerability to adverse mental health outcomes (Peñuela-O’Brien et al., 2023; Rousseau & Frounfelker, 2019). These risk factors include pre-migration persecution or loss of community, a gap between expectations and achievements, weak support networks, and challenges in adjustment and acculturation. Financial, legal, and housing issues, along with traumatic events from bombings, threats, captivity, torture, injury, or witnessing the death of loved ones, further exacerbate vulnerability (Schweitzer et al., 2011). Additionally, exposure to sexual violence during migration (Sze & Kuschminder, 2022) and challenges in cultural adaptation post-relocation (Lindert et al., 2013) contribute to these risks. Beyond the emotional strain associated with social integration, cultural assimilation, and resettlement, migrants often also face barriers to accessing health care services (Das et al., 2025; Peñuela-O’Brien et al., 2023). Barriers to accessing health care include the psychological burden of resettlement combined with structural and sociocultural challenges of discrimination and social exclusion, uncertainty about legal status, financial restrictions, a lack of culturally and evidence-based services, and linguistic barriers, which can further exacerbate the vulnerability of the migrants (Peñuela-O’Brien et al., 2023). Although access to mental health services is crucial, systemic obstacles persist (Krystallidou et al., 2024). Migrants living in Italy encounter distinct mental health challenges while adjusting to the complexities of relocation, cultural assimilation, and integration. After the onset of the so-called refugee crisis in 2013, Italy has been a popular destination for migrants crossing the Mediterranean (Ambrosetti & Paparusso, 2018). According to UNHCR data, Italy has more than 105,000 forced migrants with refugee or asylum-seeking status hosted in 2022 (UNHCR, 2022). Health promotion and prevention programs are crucial for improving public health by reducing risk factors and promoting well-being for vulnerable groups, including the migrant population (Lotito et al., 2023; Purgato et al., 2021). However, their implementation in mental health faces several challenges, including underutilization of prevention of mental disorders, insufficient financial and human resources for mental health promotion, which could create barriers to access for individuals who would benefit from programs. Nevertheless, there is growing consensus that these programs are likely cost-effective and could provide long-term savings by reducing the burden of mental health disorders. Additionally, there is a need for solutions that are culturally adapted to target specific populations and contexts (Singh et al., 2022). In Europe, Self-help plus (SH+) has been found to improve mental well-being immediately following the intervention. However, no lasting preventative effects were observed at the six-month follow-up. More research is needed to explore the potential for prolonging the beneficial effects of SH+ on mental well-being (Purgato et al., 2021). The World Health Organization (WHO) advocates for proactive mental health strategies, including public awareness campaigns and community-based programs that reduce stigma (World Health Organization, 2004). Participatory research has the potential to address and implement public health interventions in line with the concerns of target populations, promoting effective and sustainable solutions within communities (Cornwall & Jewkes, 1995; Cargo & Mercer, 2008.). However, despite growing evidence on public mental health approaches, comprehensive research on optimal strategies for preventing adult migrants’ mental health conditions in Italy remains limited. Most studies focus on general migrant health or specific subpopulations, geographic areas, or types of interventions (Singh et al., 2022), without providing a cohesive framework for best practices. Against this background, the present desk review aims to synthesize available literature on mental health promotion and prevention interventions targeting adult migrants living in Italy, along with stakeholders’ perspectives adopting a co-creation approach. The goal is to provide a framework for implementing public health interventions focusing on strategies for preventing stigma throughout the implementation process. The review also seeks to identify which implementation strategies have been employed in Italy and the barriers these strategies have faced.

The overall aim of this review is to map the distribution of the existing evidence on the use and effectiveness of co-creation in developing/designing instruments for safeguarding and protecting older people and staff in care homes. Specifically, the review seeks to answer the following research questions: 1. How effective is co-creation in developing and designing instruments to safeguard and protect older people and staff in care homes? 2. How do Health and Social-Care staff at Care Homes for Older People manage and maintain services during an outbreak? 3. How are DELPHI panels used to analyse and improve health, social care and well-being services for older people?

Effective education at the tertiary level is one of the key conditions for the development of modern economies; it also has a substantial impact on social development. Nowadays, higher education institutions all over the world are facing numerous challenges, some of them global (e.g. funding), others local (e.g. demographic trends). Universities are seeking new ways of dealing with the challenges; however, they often resort to methods that seem to do more harm than good by moving the emphasis from long-term objectives to short-term ones. In marketing literature, a new concept of Service-Dominant Logic (SDL) is proposed as an alternative approach to traditional and outdated marketing theories applied to the higher education sector. Its foundational premise of value co-creation seems to be of particular relevance here as it assumes that various groups of actors jointly create the academic experience. This paper focuses on the higher education sector in Poland and investigates the attitudes of Polish students towards value co-creation and their consequences for the academic experience. The study leads to the identification of value co-creation styles among students reflected by five segments: Maximalists, Minimalists, the Scrupulous, the Networking-Oriented and the Intellectuals and presents their detailed characteristics.

It has come increasingly onto the agenda of policymakers, as interest in citizen participation has more generally soared. Expectations are high and it is regarded as a possible solution to the public sector’s decreased legitimacy and dwindling resources, by accessing more of society’s capacities. Two hundred and thirty-seven (237) copies of questionnaires were distributed; two hundred and two (202) copies were fit for analysis. Multiple regression Statistical tool was adopted with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 21). The findings of the study showed that co-creation significantly relates with delivery performance. Based on the findings, the study recommended that managers of oil and gas firms should collaborate with customer to co-create for the betterment of the organization.

The present study uses co-creation sessions and ESM methods to develop and test measures for resilience to daily stressors and enhance our understanding of factors related to daily resilience in adolescents and young adults. The aim of the study is therefore threefold. First, we will explore the perspectives of young people on resilience to daily stressors. We will ask youth to evaluate existing measures for resilience to daily stressors and create new or improved measures. Second, we assess whether these new or improved measures of resilience to daily stressors capture resilience to daily stressors in an ESM pilot study of 50 adolescents and young adults. We will do so by comparing different resilient measures included in the ESM (i.e., self-report resilience to daily stressors, drawing-based resilience, and affective recovery resilience) and describe their psychometric qualities. Finally, we will investigate the association between resilience factors (i.e., match of social context and social desire, affect, optimism, quality of sleep, number of stressful/positive events) and the different resilience to daily stressors measures. Based on our earlier review (Zietse et al., 2024), we expect positive (within-person) associations between resilience and most of these predictors, except for negative affect and stressful events where we expect negative relations.

When school-based actions are co-created students often fulfil the role of co-creator as they are the target population. Successful implementation of these school-based actions is very important for its effectiveness and this is mostly done by school staff, which makes them important stakeholders. Hence, school staff should also be involved in the co-creation process. To know how to involve them in a way that aligns with their job obligations, it is essential to investigate how school staff experiences their involvement as co-creator. Therefore, this scoping review aims to answer the following question; in their role as co-creator, what are the experiences of school staff about their involvement in the co-creation school-based actions?
