In this episode we speak to Geo Maher. Maher is an educator, organizer, political theorist and the author of four books, including We Created Chavez, Building the Commune, and Decolonizing Dialectics. In this episode, we talk about Geo's latest book, A World Without Police: How Strong Communities Make Cops Obsolete. In this discussion we talk about Maher's grounding of the abolitionist struggle in W.E.B. Du Bois's seminal work of history Black Reconstruction in America. Geo discusses the specific relationship between whiteness and policing which develops through history in the US context. From there we get into a discussion of how to break police power in the US, starting with expelling police associations from labor unions and federations. Geo also talks about abolition in an international context, examining international struggles we can draw from, while also discussing about why abolitionist struggle has a specific relevance and relationship to revolutionary struggle in the US. Along the way we examine other important questions for the abolitionist movement today at a time when the ideas of abolition have as much popular resonance as ever, but there is still a need to develop the political forces to fight for and implement them. As technological progress accelerates and the analytical skills of the average citizen in the United States decline; business organizations and governments are increasingly developing complicated schemes to extract resources from fellow citizens, customers and nearly anyone who requires their services. These tutorials will provide the information necessary to counteract, evade, or neutralize all sorts of nefarious schemes to separate people from their hard-earned money or possessions. Talk by Alexander McAuley and Stian Haklev at IKIT Knowledge Building Summer Institute 2010. Abstract: In terms of the range both of available tools and the extent of the networks on which they run, digital supports for knowledge creation have evolved hugely since the late 1980s when CSILE first made its appearance as a groundbreaking tool for collaborative learning. Both the CSILE platform and the conceptual "intentional learning" framework on which it was based have progressed through several iterations to become the current Knowledge Forum platform and Knowledge Building Principles. Moreover, numerous studies have informed this progression and have demonstrated the potential for knowledge building in numerous contexts. On the other hand, however, despite their demonstrated benefits and the currency of the "knowledge building" meme in educational discourse, neither the Knowledge Forum technology nor the knowledge building principles have achieved their due in terms of depth or breadth of impact in the mainstream educational context. This paper begins with the "walled garden" nature of Knowledge Forum, contrasts it with the open nature of current online initiatives, and suggests possible directions for future development.

The monographic study focuses on patterns in the development of tractor-building in Ukraine in the period of 1920s‒1980s. Based on archival materials and little-known sources, the author revealed preconditions, factors, main achievements, problems, and tendencies of domestic tractor building in the context of the world progress. Analysis of the main stages in the evolution of tractors in the world and in Ukraine is given, the role of domestic enterprises in this process is described, the peculiarities of management, scientific and personnel provision of the industry are analyzed, biographies of outstanding Ukrainians are given ‒ tractor constructors, design engineers, scientists. New methodological approaches have been proposed and the concept of periodization of the national tractor building in Ukrainian has been devised in the aspect of world development. This monograph can be interesting for scientists, teachers, specialists in the history of science and technology, history of Ukraine, postgraduate students.
