This copy includes both the Arx Carolina plate and the Virginia pars Australis map, tipped in later. The work is an English translation of Arnold Montanus “De Nieuwe en Onbekende Weereld,” but with a number of additions concerning New England, New France, Maryland and Virginia. Many new maps and views were added. The Moxon map of Carolina is the first large format map of the newly established colony of Carolina. “America” was Ogilby’s finest foreign work; over 150 authors are credited although Montanus is lacking. “When it came to North America, particularly, he abandoned Montanus entirely for his own closer sources. His work used superior type and larger and finer paper than Montanus. Clearly some form of at least tacit agreement existed between Montanus and Ogilby as he acquired the same plates to illustrate his work. This is itself unusual as Ogilby was renowned for providing his own ‘sculptures’. The reasons may lie in the fact that the project clearly was already an expensive one, and that the work had been promised for some time and further delay was undesirable. The first map in the book, of the whole of America, was one of five plates provided by Ogilby himself. We may speculate that this was because Montanus did not actually own the Schagen plate, or that Ogilby wished to insert more English nomenclature” (Burden). Regarding Ogilby himself, he had a series of remarkably successful careers as a dancer, dance master, theatre manager/director, and translator of classics, and finally as author and publisher of travel and geography books. The following email was sent to ross.jones atChannel 7 News Detroit on Oct.19th, after the Patch news service notified me that this reporter had just aired a story detailing the demotion of the new Lake Orion police chief and the firing and revocation of license of 1/7th of its police force for corruption. As of today, November 2nd, I have received no response. Two days later Patch reported body parts found in a local river. Hello. A search revealed your story about the demotion of the new police chief over the hiring of a known dirty cop. I have also had cause to experience corruption at the hands of the Lake Orion police department.  In the process of attempting to find my former neighbor whom I moved next door to when I was eight years old - who was leaving the white supremacist narcissistic abuser she was currently living with and coming back to Texas to marry me - I called the LOPD and requested a welfare check. About half an hour later a thin-sounding man with a heavy northern accent gets on the line and tells me to never call again.  There is no evidence I can find that Patricia Ann Roberts/Coffey/Dumas/Randle, 56, is still alive. The man she was trying to escape - Thomas Wayne Randle, 65 - is a QAnon conspiracist who patterns his speech off of Rush Limbaugh. She described him - in two fifteen-hour long phone calls - as a 'ranking member' of one of Michigan's racist white power organizations. She told me he tore apart their five tiny dogs and forced her to bake their carcasses on cookie sheets, to watch while he ate them.  He is also a daily prescription opioid user - like his hero - as well as a heavy crack smoker and methamphetamine user. I guarantee that there is no body-cam footage of that morning. It is my belief that no visual confirmation of her presence was made. It wouldn't surprise me if a small ziplock baggie exchanged hands. The response I received was far beyond the duties or authority of the police.  Internet searches both free and paid have revealed nothing but scrubbed and deliberately entered wrong information - such as that he is of 'western european [sic] descent' (his father is Hispanic) and that they are married.  I am an artist by trade. Last year I recorded and released five albums on my own label. Over 700 literary works published are being compiled into books. A Google search for The Prophet Obblonge reveals well over a hundred screens of hits. I am a contributor to at least thirty sites.  I have used my working skills to spread our story. 150 YouTube videos. Social media. Albums, both spoken word and music. Essays. Missing person announcements. Spoken with people claiming to have lived in Lake Orion most of their lives - even being patrons of the local library she frequented.  Nothing, except thousands of pages of evidence documented using the guidelines of the National Domestic Violence Hotline proving a gaslighting campaign both public and private. Multiple stolen identities of both strangers and family members, including one of her aunts, a woman who was one of only three to visit the hospital and hold my newborn daughter (which I had with one of her younger sisters - I'm 46, and have known all four girls, their parents, grandparent, and four daughters - two of whom have children of their own now - since I was eight.) It has been years. This is the most important event in my life. There is nothing else I do all day, every day but continue to expand my reach until our story finds a human being, as opposed to a human-shaped monster.
