Intelligent control included ANFIS and type-2 fuzzy (T2FLS) controllers grown-up rapidly and these controllers are applied successfully in power system control. Meanwhile, small signal stability problem appear in a large-scale power system (LSPS) due to load fluctuation. If this problem persists, and can not be solved, it will develop blackout on the LSPS. How to improve the LSPS stability due to load fluctuation is done in this research by coordinating of PSS based on ANFIS and T2FLS. The ANFIS parameters are obtained automatically by training process. Meanwhile, the T2FLS parameters are determined based on the knowledge that obtained from the ANFIS parameters. Input membership function (MF) of the ANFIS is 5 Gaussian MFs. On the other hand, input MF of the T2FLS is 3 Gaussian MFs. Results show that the T2FLS-PSS is able to maintain the stability by decreasing peak overshoot for rotor speed and angle. The T2FLS-PSS makes the settling time is shorter for rotor speed and angle on local mode oscillation as well as on inter-area oscillation than conventional/ ANFIS-PSS. Also, the T2FLS-PSS gives better performance than the other PSS when tested on single disturbance and multiple disturbances.

This paper presents the development of a general-purpose fuzzy logic (FL) control methodology for isolating the external vibratory disturbances of space-based devices. According to the desired performance specifications, a full investigation regarding the development of an FL controller was done using different scenarios, such as variances of passive reaction-compensating components and external disturbance load. It was shown that the proposed FL controller is robust in that the FL-controlled system closely follows the prespecified ideal reference model. The comparative study also reveals that the FL-controlled system achieves significant improvement in reducing vibrations over passive systems.

This report describes a method of extending the capabilities of a production system applied to tactical situation assessment, to enable the system, whatever its type, to perform the higher order logical reasoning required for the solution of many platform identification problems. The method is implemented through (1) production rules for constructing and updating an intermediate framework in the system's data base, a framework that supports the process of associating tracks with platforms, and (2) production rules for performing the association process by using, for example, the notion of complete subsets of platform files and track files, along with logical sequences of reasoning. Many of the system logic rules underlying this method have been implemented in an experimental production system and tested against hypothesized data. Two examples are given, along with a step-by-step description of the response of the system to each new piece of information. The method as it is described uses only data having high confidence values. However, the conclusions which would logically follow from different assumptions about particular tracks or platforms could be determined by recording logical conclusions derived from less certain data, then reinitializing the data base by removing previous conclusions and replacing selected questionable assertions with alternative assertions.

The rapid development of internet of things (IoT) technology over the course of recent history has made it possible to connect a large number of smart things and sensors, as well as to establish an environment in which data can be seamlessly exchanged between them. This paper presents the study of integrated hybrid renewable energy system. The wind and solar are used as input sources for the hybrid system. The proposed system involves the design of photovoltaic (PV) and wind energy conversion system (WECS).The system is designed for constant wind speed and varying solar irradiation and insolation. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is used to extract the maximum power from PV array. The integration of two input sources is done by single-ended primary-inductor converter. Fuzzy logic controller is used to control the duty cycle of one of the converter switch thereby extracting the maximum power from solar array. The system consists of photovoltaic (PV) array, wind energy conversion system (WECS), single-ended primary-inductor converter, voltage source inverter (VSI), LC filter and three phase load.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a signature federal program that in FY2019 provided financial assistance to 35 million low-income Americans. SNAP is a focused program that increases food access, reduces hunger, and improves the nutrition and health of low-income American families. It is in the interest of the nation and individuals that SNAP recipients be equipped with evidence-based information to guide the selection of healthy food purchases with their SNAP benefits and to engage in food preparation practices and behaviors that lead to improved health and quality of life outcomes. The provision of this information is accomplished through a formal SNAP-Education (SNAP-Ed) program. The United States' unique system of land-grant universities plays a central role in the delivery of SNAP-Ed across the nation. Land-grant universities (LGUs) are the home to Cooperative Extension, a long-standing outreach system that delivers educational content and best-practice knowledge to individuals and families at a local level. The report are the results of a detailed survey administered to the LGUs engaged in SNAP-Ed. The Community Nutrition Education (CNE) Logic Model was used as the foundation for collecting data for this report, similar to the previous reports generated for the LGU System. The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate the use of fuzzy logic programming in the prediction of reliability early in the design process. In order to achieve this goal, this paper will evaluate a simple torsion bar system/road arm system to demonstrate the use of Fuzzy logic. By combining known failure issues on various systems, we will demonstrate the capability of the fuzzy logic program and how it will aid in making design decisions to improve the overall performance of the system.

This protocol was developed in the context of the ERA4Health EU Horizon Europe research and innovation project Young Adults in Health-enhancing Equitable Environments (YAHEE). It details the staged development of a system-based logic model. The logic model can serve and guide researchers and other stakeholders – involved with the YAHEE project and beyond – seeking to shape the food and physical activity environments with the aim to promote healthy eating and physical activity behaviours in young disadvantaged adults. Specifically, such a logic model offers a framework to conceptualise and locate interventions and/or research activities within the broader food and physical activity system. We expect the staged approach to logic modelling to result in five further versions of the logic model. These subsequent versions will be developed based on targeted literature searches, stakeholder engagement and YAHEE evidence and insights. We will clearly label each revised version of the logic model and document which changes are made and what information sources are used. In a publication at the end of the YAHEE project, we will publish the different versions of the logic model, transparently describe their development, illustrate how YAHEE evidence and insights have been integrated and how they have advanced our understanding, and discuss strengths and limitations of staged logic modelling.

The Hearsay II speech understanding system under development at Carnegie-Mellon University is a complex, distributed-logic processing system. Processing in the system is effected by independent, data-directed knowledge source processes which examine and alter values in a global data base representing hypothesized phones, phonemes, syllables, words, and phrases, as well as the hypothetical temporal and logical relationships among them. The question of how to schedule the numerous potential activities of the knowledge sources so as to understand the utterance in minimal time is called the 'focus of attention problem'. Near optimal focusing is especially important in a speech understanding system because of the very large solution space that potentially needs to be searched. Using the concepts of stimulus and response frames of scheduled knowledge source instantiations, competition among alternative responses, goals, and the desirability of a knowledge source instantiation, a general attentional control mechanism is developed. This general focusing mechanism facilitates the experimental evaluation of a variety of specific attentional control policies (such as best-first, bottom-up, and top-down search heuristics) and allows the modular addition of specialized heuristics for the speech understanding task.
