After her marriage to John Higginbotham, she spent most of her life in Virden, but traveled extensively and did many sketches and paintings of the countries visited. Lila, a former school teacher, has enjoyed doing all types of art work, but her favorite subject is the beauty of the Manitoba landscape. One of the original members of the Virden Art Class, she was the President for many years.
