"Maintaining Approach-avoidance Conflict In The T-Maze: Modifications Of The Virtual Task To Elicit Behavioral Conflict And Its Relation With Frontal Asymmetries" Description:

The Internet Archive:

The current study aims to partially replicate prior work (Rodrigues et al., 2016). As in the previous study, we will take a comprehensive look at approach avoidance conflict behavior, according to the three levels of the emotional assessment (Lang, 1968). Physiological correlates of overt approach avoidance conflict behavior, measured in a TMaze desktop task, will be assessed with high-density electroencephalography (EEG, 128 channels) and electrocardiography (ECG). Additionally, personality traits will be assessed with diverse questionnaires, including the revised reinforcement sensitivity theory (rRST, Gray & McNaughton, 2000). This will provide the basis for including views on frontal alpha asymmetries theories. Furthermore, the study will introduce an updated version of the original virtual desktop task. The replication part will be as close as possible to the original paradigm, while two additional variations of the tasks will allow some of the blind spots of the original study to be addressed.
