1ERIC ED630996: Analysis Of Postgraduate Theses On The Concept Of "Information Literacy" In Turkey This Research Examines The Postgraduate Theses On The Concept Of Information Literacy From Various Perspectives. In This Study, Which Was Conducted Within The Framework Of A Qualitative Research Approach, Document Analysis Was Used For Data Collection. Within The Scope Of The Study, "information Literacy" Was Written As A Keyword In The Database Of The Council Of Higher Education (YÖK) National Thesis Center And Scanned Electronically And (f=33) Postgraduate Theses Published In Turkey With "information Literacy" In Their Titles Were Reached. In The Study, Theses Were Analyzed By Content Analysis In Terms Of Type, Year, Language, University, Affiliated Institute, Department, Research Method/approach, Study Group/participants, And Thesis Advisor Titles. Because Of The Research, It Has Been Determined That There Are More Master's Theses Than Doctoral Theses And That Master's Theses Are Mostly Done In State Universities. It Has Been Determined That The Number Of Postgraduate Theses In 2019 Is Higher Than In Other Years, The Most Common Title For Faculty Members Who Are Thesis Managers Is "professor Doctor," According To Gender, Women Have Prepared (f=21) Theses, And Men Have Prepared (f=12) Theses. It Has Been Determined That Most Of The "survey Method" Studies Are Conducted In Postgraduate Studies, Most Studies Are Conducted With "students" And Most Studies Are Conducted In "Hacettepe University." Additionally, It Has Been Determined That Since 2018, The Number Of Postgraduate Theses Using The Concept Of "information Literacy" Has Increased, Most Of The Research Is Done In The "institutes Of Educational Sciences" Of Universities, And Most Of The Postgraduate Theses Are Prepared In The "Information And Document Management Department." It Has Been Determined That The Language Of The Theses Is Turkish Except For 1 (one) Study. According To The Results Of The Research, It Was Determined That The "survey Method/quantitative Studies" Method Was Used The Most. [For The Full Proceedings, See ED630948.]

This research examines the postgraduate theses on the concept of information literacy from various perspectives.

3Researchers Published A Massive Database Of More Than 2 Billion Discord Messages That They Say They Scraped Using Discord’s Public API. The Data Was Pulled From 3,167 Servers And Covers Posts Made Between 2015 And 2024, The Entire Time Discord Has Been Active. Though The Researchers Claim They’ve Anonymized The Data, It’s Hard To Imagine Anyone Is Comfortable With Almost A Decade Of Their Discord Messages Sitting In A Public JSON File Online. Separately, A Different Programmer Released A Discord Tool Called "Searchcord" Based On A Different Data Set That Shows Non-anonymized Chat Histories. These Two Separate Events Have Created Some Panic In Some Discord Communities, With Server Moderators And Users Worrying About Their Privacy. A Team Of 15 Researchers At The Federal University Of Minas Gerais In Brazil Conducted The Scrape As Part Of A Research Project. The Team Explained The How And Why Of The Project In A Paper Titled Discord Unveiled: A Comprehensive Dataset Of Public Communication (2015 - 2024), Which They Say Was Created So That Other Teams Of Researchers Could Have A Database Of Online Discussions To Use When Studying Mental Health And Politics Or Training Bots. “Throughout Every Step Of Our Data Collection Process, We Prioritized Adherence To Ethical Standards,” They Wrote In A Section Called ‘Ethical Concerns.’ “Precautions Were Taken To Collect Data Responsibly. All Data Was Sourced From Groups That Are Explicitly Considered Public According To Discord’s Terms Of Use, Which Every User Agrees To Upon Signing Up. The Data Was Anonymized, And The Methodology Was Detailed To Promote Reproducibility And Transparency.” That May Be The Case, But Discord Is Designed To Be A Series Of Chatrooms Which Are Not Universally Searchable, And Which In Their Design Feel Far Less Public Than, Say, Tweeting Something Or Posting It To Reddit. #discord #brazil #brazilians #tech #news #technology #privacy

Researchers published a massive database of more than 2 billion Discord messages that they say they scraped using Discord’s public API.

4ERIC ED637573: Classifying Math Knowledge Components Via Task-Adaptive Pre-Trained BERT Educational Content Labeled With Proper Knowledge Components (KCs) Are Particularly Useful To Teachers Or Content Organizers. However, Manually Labeling Educational Content Is Labor Intensive And Error-prone. To Address This Challenge, Prior Research Proposed Machine Learning Based Solutions To Auto-label Educational Content With Limited Success. In This Work, We Significantly Improve Prior Research By (1) Expanding The Input Types To Include KC Descriptions, Instructional Video Titles, And Problem Descriptions (i.e., Three Types Of Prediction Task), (2) Doubling The Granularity Of The Prediction From 198 To 385 KC Labels (i.e., More Practical Setting But Much Harder Multinomial Classification Problem), (3) Improving The Prediction Accuracies By 0.5-2.3% Using Task-adaptive Pre-trained BERT, Outperforming Six Baselines, And (4) Proposing A Simple Evaluation Measure By Which We Can Recover 56-73% Of Mispredicted KC Labels. The Montana Department of Labor and Industry (MTDLI) recently published a statewide college report entitled "Meeting State Worker Demand: A Report on the Labor Market Outcomes for Montana Colleges," in collaboration with the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE). The report seeks to determine if there are enough students graduating in the right fields to meet Montana's workforce needs now and in the future. It compares the workforce supply being developed in Montana's colleges to expected future employment needs and analyzes workforce outcomes for Montana college graduates. Since the statewide college report was published in May 2017, Montana educators, students, businesses, and policymakers have been using this data to successfully guide workforce development efforts in the state, and to develop new opportunities for cooperation between colleges and businesses. This report is a case study of how Montana has set an example for other states by not just "understanding" its workforce programs, but using this data to drive policy change within the government, postsecondary institutions, and the business community. 1Flemington

By

Book's cover

This adventure historical fiction novel is set in Angus, Scotland during the Jacobite rebellion of 1745. It has all the elements of a good war novel: spies, betrayals, politics, and even a love story (but not quite what you expect). This is a smart novel with wise insights into human nature, the different choices people make during a conflict, and the coping mechanisms of those who were left behind. This novel will make you laugh, cry, and fall in love with the landscape of Scotland. - Summary by Stav Nisser.
