To keep democracy's head above water in 2024 the Democrats need what's called a trifecta - meaning the Presidency, the House and the Senate - and keeping the senate is going to be a tough slog because Democrats have what's called a \"bad map\". So today, instead of talking about the must win swing races we hear about all the time, we're going to discuss two Senate races that almost no-one is paying attention to. Two Senate races practically no-one is investing in, because it's assumed they've already been won by Republicans when the truth is they haven't. American Democrats often function in this weird defeatist culture where we keep fighting over the same 6 states and seeding other states to Republicans with the assumption they're lost and no Democrat can ever win there. It's not fair to the people who have different opinions in those states. It's not fair to the people who lose their rights thanks to Republican policies, and it's not democratic. People should have a candidate to vote for, and that candidate should have the opportunity to win. So today's episode includes two women, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (or DMP) from Florida and Katrina Christiansen from North Dakota. We're going to hear their stories and remind ourselves that no state should be written off. That everybody deserves a chance to be represented in America and with so much on the line, we need to support every Democrat running. In this paper, considering multiple interference regions simultaneously, an optimal antenna deployment problem for distributed Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) radar is investigated. The optimal antenna deployment problem is solved by proposing an antenna deployment method based on Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO). Firstly, we construct a multi-objective optimization problem for MIMO radar antenna deployment by choosing the interference power densities of different regions as objective functions. Then, to obtain the optimal deployment result without wasting time and computational resources, an iteration convergence criterion based on interval distance is proposed. The iteration convergence criterion can be used to stop the MOPSO optimization process efficiently when the optimal antenna deployment algorithm reaches the desired convergence level. Finally, numerical results are provided to verify the validity of the proposed algorithm.

As more and more states turn to casinos and lotteries to 'fill the gap\" in 'falling' state budgets, the predatory and regressive nature of gambling as an alternative to increasing taxes on the rich avoids nearly any media scrutiny among centrists and liberals. Even the Left has mostly ignored the issue--ceding criticism of our most regressive tax to the Christian Right, who largely oppose gambling for all the wrong reasons. In this episode, we explore how lotteries and casinos have come to represent the last throes of the false neoliberal promise of \"jobs\" and \"growth.\" Throughout much of the United States, specifically the Rust Belt and Midwest, casinos and prisons are increasingly the only growth industries, entrenching the shift from an industrial economy to one that exclusively preys on the poor and desperate in a never-ending race to the bottom. Beyond the glitz and easy \"tax revenue\" lies a massive transfer of wealth from the poor, black and elderly to the super wealthy - achieved, slowly over decades, with zero sustained criticism from the media. We are joined by two guests: John Balzarini, Assistant Professor of Sociology & Criminal Justice at Delaware State University, and Les Bernal, National Director of Stop Predatory Gambling.
