Intertemporal choice refers to decisions involving tradeoffs between costs and benefits at different times. The attribute-based models, such as tradeoff model and equate-to-differentiate theory, show that individuals tend to compare the difference between attributes of delay and outcome before deciding in a single attribute when selecting between a smaller, sooner outcome (SS) and a larger, later outcome (LL). However, the strength of this attribute-based difference judgment has not been examined. We will examine the relationship between the strength of attribute-based difference judgment and eye-tracking measures using eye-tracking technique.
