This paper attempts to analyze the changing nature of work in today's economy and to investigate employment problems and mobility opportunities for disadvantaged workers. Principal dimensions of employment opportunities in the "old economy" of the 1950s and 1960s are highlighted, and the impact of the emergence of the "new economy" on the aggregate structure of employment opportunities is identified. A short review follows of how major groups of disadvantaged workers have fared vis-a-vis this new structure of employment opportunities. The analysis of the transformation of employment opportunities is refined to show how the postwar expansion of the higher education system and recent technological advances have acted to alter required skills, the process of skill acquisition, and job characteristics. These major conclusions are reached: the trend towards labor market "bifurcation" need not imply that all jobs in the labor market's lower tiers are becoming de-skilled, labor market misadjustments are occurring that require attention, the economy's continuing shift from manual to cognitive processes will continue to place a premium on better schooling and higher level training and retraining, and vocational and higher education institutions will continue to assume increasing importance in opening avenues for upward mobility. This document consists of four units. The first of these views calculus applications to work, area, and distance problems. It is designed to help students gain experience in: 1) computing limits of Riemann sums; 2) computing definite integrals; and 3) solving elementary area, distance, and work problems by integration. The second module views calculus applications to atmospheric pressure. The material is geared to aid pupil understanding of the application of calculus to construct a mathematical model of the atmosphere. The third unit covers applications of multivariate calculus to physics. The user is expected to learn how to compute the Gradient, and to be able to use the Gradient to solve certain practical problems involving steepest ascent. The final module covers calculus applications to physics. The material is designed to instruct pupils how to: 1) be able to handle motion problems in polar coordinates, especially those concerning gravitational interaction; 2) state the relationships between Kepler's Laws and the Inverse Square Law; and 3) discuss the history and thought going into scientific development of an idea and the interaction between experiment and theory, at least in the context of planetary motion. All units include exercises with solutions; the first, third, and fourth provide model exams with answers. (MP)

The relevance of the research problem is inspired by the need to ensure decent work principles in Russia. The purpose of this article is to develop evaluation methodologies and identify areas to implement key principles of decent work at the regional level in modern Russia. A leading approach to study this problem is the development of a new method of calculating the index characterizing the decent work deficit in the region. Results: the authors have developed a general procedure for overcoming the decent work deficit, given the chosen model of development in the regions, and developed the stages of events. In the study, the authors analyzed the existing approaches to the assessment of decent work, taking into account the updated development trends of the economy, its key parameters. There are presented results of a comparative analysis on decent work deficits at the regional level, identified the problem field of assessment methodology and proposed measures to ensure patterns of decent work with regard to the choice of innovative development in regional economies. The advantage of this model is overcoming the decent work deficit through structural, institutional changes, increasing investment activity. The article may be useful for research organizations and regional administrative structures in the development of medium and long-term programs to increase decent work levels.

The aim of this study is to determine what the teacher problems are in different dimensions and to find out if there is a relationship between teacher problems and school achievement. For this purpose, it has been tried to determine how the teacher problems differ according to the variables such as gender, seniority, title, school level, branch and type of school. The research includes teachers who work in primary, secondary and high schools. The scale used as the data collection tool of the survey contains 35 items in total under five main headings. In the questionnaire, short answer questions were added under five headings prepared in the form of lLkert with a total of 106 items, which were expressed in the press, councils and scientific studies, and it was distributed to the 28 teachers. By analyzing the information gathered from the 28 teachers, the researcher tried to develop a scale of 50 items by combining similar subjects covered under different headings. The developed scale was reapplied in a school with 22 teachers and then factor analysis was performed on these 50 items. Expressions with low item scores were removed and it was finalized as a 35-item scale. The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient for the 50-item scale was found to be 0.82, and the reliability studies weren't conducted for the new scale. The scale continues to be applied at the moment. The obtained information will be analyzed in the light of research sub-problems after the implementation process.

Part 1 examines the Marriott Corporation in its wider economic, political, and religious contexts, including its founding by a Mormon family. Part 2 addresses central features of the Marriott handicapped employment program, with a focus on the mentally retarded worker. A discussion of work in the "least dependent environment" considers hiring the handicapped, training the handicapped, and the individual worker approach versus the enclave approach. The benefits of the system for everyone involved are also highlighted.
