The music will hopefully enhance the poetic prowess of the gnostic visionary as he takes his beloved reader through the trails of the Adam, the tincture, and the stars and elements that are capable of corrupting the soul's tincture or pure essence.

In the Golden Gate (San Francisco) inlet, tidal currents are dominant and have complex spatial and temporal variations owing to the large size of estuary connected through a narrow channel and the shallow ebb shoal (bar) at the mouth. To capture such variations, shipboard ADCP profiling is a technically viable approach that can yield unique insight into the vertical structure of currents. Shipboard ADCP data from four cruises conducted by the R/V Point Sur in the San Francisco Bight are used in the study. Transects along the channel axis were automatically extracted from the irregularly sampled underway data using changes in speed and heading in combination with geographic criteria. Processed data contains transects traversed in various tidal conditions. Flood currents are bottom intensified with more strength in the relatively deeper area of the channel. In low tidal range conditions, the directions and speed of surface currents are nearly uniform along the entire channel. Ebb currents are surface intensified, decreasing from the Golden Gate to the bar. In low tidal range, near-surface and bottom currents flow in opposite directions. The tidal currents exhibit cross channel variations in strength. Ebb results in surface outflow mainly along the northern part of entrance, whereas the flood flow is strongest along the southern part.

A panoramic journey from the front of a moving steam engine along the Ferries and Cliff House Rail Road, atop Mount Tamalpais, Marin County in San Francisco, California's northwest corner, known as "Lands End," which overlooks the Golden Gate and Marin headlands. It was filmed January 11, 1902 by Thomas Edison Inc. Archive.org has a sped up version of this film, called Lands End train ride, incorrectly dated 1900.

This footage was shot just north of the Golden Gate Bridge on March 28, 2009, between 8:27 pm and 9:40 pm. As part of the Earth Hour celebration, the Golden Gate Transit District decided to turn out the flood lights on the north and south towers of the famous bridge. As luck would have it, DTP producer Christian Einfeldt was speaking by phone with DTP spiritualgodfather Holden Aust that morning. Holden suggested that we go shoot the event that evening. He contacted Rufus Laggren, who drove us up to our look-out point in the Marin Headlands at a spot located just about 1 mile from the north tower, and about 2 miles from the south tower. A ship sails under the bridge just as the lights go out at 8:30 p.m.. The captain of the ship had obviously heard of this event, and planned his or her ship's arrival into San Francisco Bay accordingly. The western flood lights go off first, followed by the eastern floodlights. This shot shows only the southern tower of the bridge, the tower closest to San Francisco. The lights behind the bridge come from various parts of San Francisco, including the Marina district, Pacific Height, Nob Hill, and some skycrapers from downtown San Francisco. One hour later, at 9:30 p.m., the bridge staff turns the lights back on, this time turning on both floodlights at once. The lights come on gradually, either because they are so powerful that they need to warm up, or because the staff turns them on slowly for effect. It takes nearly a full minute, it seems, for the lights to reach maximum effect. The shot of the bridge is dark. This event was the first time that the DTP crew had shot any night footage, so it was an experiment. Following the shot of the bridge, I turned the camera toward the waxing crescent moon going down over the Pacific Ocean. I wanted to see what effect would be produced by dropping the shutter speed on the camera. It is somewhat interesting to note that the camera becomes sufficiently sensitive to pick up the dark face of the moon as the shutter speed drops. This footage is our raw rough-cut footage. It lacks transitions, music, special effectsor finish rendering. It is our "source code". Ray Hamilton presents an enlightening talk on some of the many connections between San Francisco Bay and Humboldt County

This 1960s color film includes 1930s black and white footage on the design, fabrication, construction, and opening of the Golden Gate bridge. It was presented by Bethlehem Steel. The film begins with a bird’s eye view of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. A statue of Joseph Straus, chief engineer, is panned up. The bridge is shown from afar (0:11-1:20). A vintage illustration shows the topography and side-view of the bridge’s construction (1:21-3:57). Black and white footage prior to the bridge’s construction began in 1933 shows the Bethlehem Steel Companies’ factories, including the massive steel trusses in fabrication, parts being transported by train and boat, and cranes lifting sections for transport (3:58-4:47). Workers pour and plane the concrete on a yet-unfinished tower (4:48-6:21). A vintage color illustration shows the measurements and basic layout of a tower (6:22-6:59). Photos of workmen craning and measuring parts are shown. A crane moves a large piece of steel to the tower off a boat (7:00-8:22). Crane workers move large pieces of steel into the base of the bridge (8:23-9:35). A photograph of the first diagonal brace is shown, and the traveler – the crane system used to build the sections – is raised (9:36-10:32). Workers weld rivets on scaffolding, movable platforms, and elevators, shown being raised up and down the bridge (10:33-11:54). Ariel footage is shown of the towers during construction, and the final part of the north tower is craned into place (11:55-13:43). Photos show the progression of construction for the San Francisco tower (13:44-15:30). Workmen use automatically-turning spinning carriages to “stitch” the north and south shores together with 80,000 miles of wire (13:44-16:28). The finished cable bundles are shown, and those bundles are wrapped with galvanized wire (16:29-17:05). A vintage illustration shows the basic anatomy of the road span (17:06-18:50). Massive worker safety nets (credited with saving lives) are raised into place, with workers moving around them (19:02-20:00). Parts of the structure are moved on trollies down the supports, and cranes move steel into place with workers riding (20:00-21:04). Beams are swung into place by crane (21:05-21:38). The net is shown again, workers show off their hardhats, and a worker puts on a safety belt and ties himself to a post (21:39-22:15). Footage pans up the unfinished span base, where both sides are almost touching to finish the bridge, and chief engineer Joseph Straus is shown watching the final part placed in to finish the bridge’s structure (22:16-24:02). Painters from the lines, painting the cable bundles “international orange” (24:03-24:20). The sidewalks and rails are trollied and craned into place, and workmen fasten them (24:21-24:48). Workmen weld the reinforcing steel for the concrete road, and cement is manually poured and leveled (24:49-25:29). The finished bridge is shown immersed in fog. Shown is footage and photos from when the bridge was completed in 1937, only four years after construction began, and film from the opening celebrations (25:30-26:36).
