Imagine in the European theater of WWII, the Nazi troops telling American soldiers that if the Americans would stop shooting at them, they would have a lot better chance of converting Nazis over to the American cause. Would it have been wise for the Americans to listen to their enemy? Thatâs precisely the approach atheists are taking with Christians in our culture war. They claim that if Christians just withdrew from the battlefield of society, Christians would have a lot better chance at winning converts. What hogwash. God told believers that while we donât fight with weapons of flesh and blood, we are to fight every proud notion that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. Christians have truth on their side and shouldnât be afraid to go toe to toe with the ignorance of atheism in the public square. If Christians donât present the alternative to the Hitler/Pol Pot/Stalin worldview offered by atheists, who will?

In the mid-1990s, the Air Force experienced a spike in suicides. This occurrence resulted after a period of massive force reductions across the Department of Defense (DoD). The DoD has signaled that all Services will experience a significant manpower reduction once again. As such, Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers, and Marines will inherit and in some instances, internalize the associated stress that accompanies such action. These force reductions come against a backdrop of government-wide budgetary uncertainty, fiscal constraints, furlough activity, more than a decade of continuous war, the likelihood of expanded duties, the need to lower manpower to congressionally defined limits, and a U.S. economy in decline. One can argue the environment is harsher today than what was faced in the 1990s. Since 2001, suicide rates in the Air Force and across DoD have trended upward. Today, military suicide is a national crisis, with one veteran committing suicide every 80 minutes. Studies reflect concern by Airmen over a perceived stigma associated with seeking mental health treatment. Potential force reductions and career uncertainty can deter Airmen from seeking mental health services. Air Force behavioral health advocacy, communications and educational campaigns implemented by senior leadership have not gained the necessary trust and confidence of Airmen to lessen the stigma associated with mental health services. In order to establish trust and reduce stigma, Air Force practices require review, while at the same time, lessons should be garnered from other organizations and new approaches sought. Otherwise, Airmen will continue to resist treatment, resulting in lives lost. The Air Force requires a successful battle plan to defeat this enemy within. Failure is not an option.

Force modernization is more like a warfighting campaign than an industrial process. Volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity inherent in all its key factors and enablers make modernization as much an operational art as a scientific method. Therefore, modernization, like warfare, would operate more effectively and responsively under an authoritative body of doctrine rather than under layers of detailed prescriptive and legally binding regulations. At the core of a body of doctrine is a foundational doctrine document setting forth broad guidance with fundamental principles to guide planning and execution. This study will consider the following principles as candidates for such a document: (1) Objective, (2) Stable Program Inputs, (3) Risk Management, (4) Simplicity of Command, (5) Economy of Effort, (6) Initiative, (7) Credibility, (8) Synergy, (9) Tempo, and (10) Synchronization. Together, these are the fundamental underlying doctrinal principles for an effective and efficient force modernization program. These principles can guide modernization process improvement efforts as well as modernization programs to shorten program timelines and still deliver a quality product. Force modernization includes the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), formerly the Requirements Generation System, and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition process. With respect to JCIDS, this paper is concerned only with material solutions feeding into the acquisition system. The analysis does not include doctrine, operations, training, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities solutions to documented needs.

Williams spent his life as a doctor practicing pediatric medicine in northern New Jersey, a few miles west of New York City. Williams was born in Rutherford, New Jersey, a community near the city of Paterson. His father was an English immigrant, and his mother was born in Puerto Rico. He attended public school in Rutherford until 1897, then was sent to study at Château de Lancy near Geneva, Switzerland, the Lycée Condorcet in Paris, France, for two years and Horace Mann School in New York City. Then, in 1902, he entered the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. During his time at Penn, Williams befriended Ezra Pound, Hilda Doolittle (best known as H.D.) and the painter Charles Demuth. These friendships supported his growing passion for poetry. He received his M.D. in 1906 and spent the next four years in internships in New York City and in travel and postgraduate studies abroad (e.g., at the University of Leipzig where he studied pediatrics). He returned to Rutherford in 1910 and began his medical practice, which lasted until 1951. Ironically, most of his patients knew little if anything of his writings; instead they viewed him as a doctor who helped deliver over 2,000 of their children into the world. <br/>(From Wikipedia)

11Planet of the Gods

Far, far in the future Earth has achieved real peace and is sending out interstellar expeditions, not to conquer, but to explore. The third such expedition, has made it to the Vega system and discovered to everyone's amazement, not only a solar system but two worlds circling the Vega sun that seem to have atmosphere and water. And apparently intelligent life is there as well because something tries, and almost succeeds, in blasting the expedition ship out of space before it can even get close to either one. Damaged, with 3 dead men aboard, the expedition ship semi-crashes and seeks to hide from this obviously hostile civilization. The three dead members of the crew are buried and four of the local inhabitants pay a friendly call. Then during the second night on this planet, one of the dead bodies knocks on the door and wants to come in. Something very strange is going on here.
