In the past years, global concerns have increased with regards to environmental issues, especially after the consolidation of the industrial revolution which caused an increase in degradation of the environment. These concerns generated more pressure causing businesses and industries to develop the use of green management by adopting environmentally-friendly practices and products. Environmental Management (EM) has been included in many departments such as marketing, supply chain, finance and others. Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) has subsequently evolved to help organizations improve Environmental Performance (EP) through the increase of employee involvement and commitment towards the environment.

This study aims to investigate common critiques expressed by researchers and personality theorists for two organizational psychology meta-traits: Core Self-Evaluations (CSE) and Psychological Capital (PsyCap). These critiques center around the scope of these meta-traits. The issue of scope has two facets: first, whether the individual meta-traits include all relevant specific traits (and exclude those which are not relevant) and second, whether different meta-traits with similar specific traits, like CSE and PsyCap, may present concerns in terms of overlap or redundancy. Whilst redundant personality constructs, commonly referred to as Jingle-jangle fallacies (Lee et al., 2020), are concerning in and of themselves (Flake & Fried, 2020), these issues also cast doubt on whether the utility of meta-traits in the prediction of important outcomes is optimised (Dawkins et al., 2013; Johnson et al., 2008; Luthans et al., 2006; Youssef-Morgan, 2014). Many of these critiques still await in-depth exploration, with the lack of clarity surrounding these topics resulting in conceptual muddiness which hinders theory development and the application of PsyCap and CSE in practical settings. As such, this study aims to examine the scope of CSE and PsyCap to address these concerns.

We introduce the notion of the visual core of a hyperbolic 3-manifold N and explore its basic properties. The visual core can be thought of as a harmonic analysis analogue of the convex core. We investigate circumstances in which the visual core of a cover N' of N embeds under the covering map from N' to N. We apply this analysis to convergent sequences of Kleinian groups, in order to understand when the visual core of the algebraic limit manifold embeds in the geometric limit manifold. We close with a discussion of the behavior of the visual core under Klein-Maskit combination.

It is shown that the $\nu_2 \to \nu_{e}$ and $\nu_{\mu} \to \nu_{e}$ ($\nu_e \to \nu_{\mu (\tau)}$) transitions respectively of the solar and atmospheric neutrinos in the Earth in the case of $\nu_e - \nu_{\mu (\tau)}$ mixing in vacuum, are strongly enhanced by a new type of resonance when the neutrinos cross the Earth core. The resonance is operative at small mixing angles but differs from the MSW one. It is in many respects similar to the electron paramagnetic resonance taking place in a specific configuration of two magnetic fields. The conditions for existence of the new resonance include, in particular, specific constraints on the neutrino oscillation lengths in the Earth mantle and in the Earth core, thus the resonance is a ``neutrino oscillation length resonance''. It leads also to enhancement of the $\nu_2 \to \nu_e$ and $\nu_e \to \nu_s$ transitions in the case of $\nu_e - \nu_s$ mixing and of the $\bar{\nu}_{\mu} \to \bar{\nu}_{s}$ (or $\nu_{\mu} \to \nu_{s}$) transitions at small mixing angles. The presence of the neutrino oscillation length resonance in the transitions of solar and atmospheric neutrinos traversing the Earth core has important implications for current and future solar and atmospheric neutrino experiments, and more specifically, for the interpretation of the results of the Super-Kamiokande experiment.

Short version: We apply a new synergetic radiative transfer method: the derived 1D density profiles are both consistent with a cut through the Herschel PACS/SPIRE and JCMT SCUBA-2 continuum maps of L1689B and with a derived local interstellar radiation field. Choosing an appropriate cut along the filament major axis, we minimize the impact of the filament emission on the modeling. For the bulk of the core (5000-20000 au) an isothermal sphere model with a temperature of around 10 K provides the best fits. We show that the power law index of the density profile, as well as the constant temperature can be derived directly from the radial surface brightness profiles. For the inner region ( < 5000 au), we find a range of densities and temperatures that are consistent with the surface brightness profiles and the local interstellar radiation field. Based on our core models, we find that pixel-by-pixel single temperature spectral energy distribution fits are incapable of determining dense core properties. We conclude that, to derive physical core properties, it is important to avoid an azimuthal average of core and filament. Correspondingly, derived core masses are too high since they include some mass of the filament, and might introduce errors when determining core mass functions. The forward radiative transfer methods also avoids the loss of information owing to smearing of all maps to the coarsest spatial resolution. We find the central core region to be colder and denser than estimated in recent inverse radiative transfer modeling, possibly indicating the start of star formation in L1689B.

We made a detailed observational analysis of a well known hot molecular core lying in the high-mass star-forming region G31.41+0.31. This core is believed to contain deeply embedded massive stars and presents a velocity gradient that has been interpreted either as rotation or as expansion, depending on the authors. Our aim was to shed light on this question and possibly prepare the ground for higher resolution ALMA observations which could directly detect circumstellar disks around the embedded massive stars. Observations at sub-arcsecond resolution were performed with the Submillimeter Array in methyl cyanide, a typical hot molecular core tracer, and 12CO and 13CO, well known outflow tracers. We also obtained sensitive continuum maps at 1.3 mm. Our findings confirm the existence of a sharp velocity gradient across the core, but cannot confirm the existence of a bipolar outflow perpendicular to it. The improved angular resolution and sampling of the uv plane allow us to attain higher quality channel maps of the CH3CN lines with respect to previous studies and thus significantly improve our knowledge of the structure and kinematics of the hot molecular core. While no conclusive argument can rule out any of the two interpretations (rotation or expansion) proposed to explain the velocity gradient observed in the core, in our opinion the observational evidence collected so far indicates the rotating toroid as the most likely scenario. The outflow hypothesis appears less plausible, because the dynamical time scale is too short compared to that needed to form species such as CH3CN, and the mass loss and momentum rates estimated from our measurements appear too high.

We theoretically study a non-magnetic impurity effect on the vortex bound states of a multi-quantum vortex. The zero-energy peak of the local density of states is investigated for vortex cores with the winding numbers 2 and 4 within the framework of the quasiclassical theory of superconductivity. We find that the zero-energy peaks, which appear away from the vortex center in the clean limit, move towards the vortex center with increasing the impurity scattering rate, resolving a contradiction between an experimental result and previous theoretical predictions.

If rotating core collapse leads to the formation of a proto-neutron star binary in super-close orbit, then the lighter star, propelled toward the minimum stable mass, explodes. The neutron star (or black hole) that remains acquires a spin-perpendicular kick of very large amplitude. Kicks of the type are required to explain the geodesic precession in double neutron star binaries such as B1913+16. On the contrary, spin-kick alignment has been claimed for the Vela and Crab pulsars whose kicks are relatively small. We propose that the larger kick component, when present in a pulsar, results from the disruption of an evanescent proto-neutron star binary and is spin perpendicular; the smaller kick component is associated to some other mechanism that leads to less vigorous kicks, predominantly parallel to the spin, because of phase averaging. This gives rise to a "bimodal distribution" in the peculiar velocities of neutron stars, as observed in the pulsar sample. The kick velocity is found to scale with the mass of the star that remains as M^(-2/3). This scenario can explain the run-away black hole GRO J1655-40, the first to show evidence for a natal kick.

The solar-like pulsator HD49385 was observed with the CoRoT satellite during 137 days. The analysis of its oscillation spectrum yielded precise estimates of the mode frequencies over nine radial orders and pointed out some unusual characteristics: there exist some modes outside the identified ridges in the echelle diagram and the curvature of the l=1 ridge significantly differs from that of the l=0 ridge. We here propose a toy-model to describe avoided crossings with a strong coupling between the p-mode and g-mode cavities and we show that the peculiar features of the oscillation spectrum of HD49385 can be accounted for only by a low-frequency l=1 avoided crossing. This leads us to establish the post-main-sequence status of HD49385. We then investigate the information which is brought by the mixed modes about the structure of the core. Having shown that traditional optimization techniques are ill-suited for stars with mixed modes in avoided crossing, we propose a new approach to the computation of grids of models, which we apply to HD49385. As a result, we show that the amount of core overshooting in HD49385 is either very low (0

Strain fields, dislocations and defects may be used to control electronic properties of graphene. By using advanced imaging techniques with high-resolution transmission electron microscopes, we have measured the strain and rotation fields about dislocations in monolayer graphene with single-atom sensitivity. These fields differ qualitatively from those given by conventional linear elasticity. However, atom positions calculated from two dimensional (2D) discrete elasticity and three dimensional discrete periodized F\"oppl-von K\'arm\'an equations (dpFvKEs) yield fields close to experiments when determined by geometric phase analysis. 2D theories produce symmetric fields whereas those from experiments exhibit asymmetries. Numerical solutions of dpFvKEs provide strain and rotation fields of dislocation dipoles and pairs that also exhibit asymmetries and, compared with experiments, may yield information on out-of-plane displacements of atoms. While discrete theories need to be solved numerically, analytical formulas for strains and rotation about dislocations can be obtained from 2D Mindlin's hyperstress theory. These formulas are very useful for fitting experimental data and provide a template to ascertain the importance of nonlinear and nonplanar effects. Measuring the parameters of this theory, we find two characteristic lengths between three and four times the lattice spacings that control dilatation and rotation about a dislocation. At larger distances from the dislocation core, the elastic fields decay to those of conventional elasticity. Our results may be relevant for strain engineering in graphene and other 2D materials of current interest.

The Orion A molecular cloud is one of the most well-studied nearby star-forming regions, and includes regions of both highly clustered and more dispersed star formation across its full extent. Here, we analyze dense, star-forming cores identified in the 850 {\mu}m and 450 {\mu}m SCUBA-2 maps from the JCMT Gould Belt Legacy Survey. We identify dense cores in a uniform manner across the Orion A cloud and analyze their clustering properties. Using two independent lines of analysis, we find evidence that clusters of dense cores tend to be mass segregated, suggesting that stellar clusters may have some amount of primordial mass segregation already imprinted in them at an early stage. We also demonstrate that the dense core clusters have a tendency to be elongated, perhaps indicating a formation mechanism linked to the filamentary structure within molecular clouds.

Three-dimensional equi-potential surfaces of a galactic system with supermassive binary black holes are discussed herein. The conditions of topological transitions for the important surfaces, i.e. Roche Lobes and Jiang-Yeh Lobe, are studied in this paper. In addition, the mathematical properties of the Jacobi surfaces are investigated analytically. Finally, a numerical procedure for determining the regions of the Roche Lobes and Jiang-Yeh Lobe is suggested.

Understanding the internal rotation of low mass stars all along their evolution is of primary interest when studying their rotational dynamics, internal mixing and magnetic field generation. In this context, helio- and asteroseismology probe angular velocity gradients deep within solar type stars at different evolutionary stages. Still the rotation close to the center of such stars on the main sequence is hardly detectable and the dynamical interaction of the radiative core with the surface convective envelope is not well understood. For instance, the influence of the differential rotation profile sustained by convection and applied as a boundary condition to the radiation zone is very important in the formation of tachoclines. In this work, we study a 2D hydrodynamical model of a radiative core when an imposed, solar or anti-solar, differential rotation is applied at the upper boundary. This model uses the Boussinesq approximation and we find that the shear induces a cylindrical differential rotation associated with a unique cell of meridional circulation in each hemisphere (counterclockwise when the shear is solar-like and clockwise when it is anti-solar). The results are discussed in the framework of seismic observables (internal rotation rate, core-to-surface rotation ratio) while perspectives to improve our modeling by including magnetic field or transport by internal gravity waves will be discussed.

Using multi-epoch VLA observations, covering a time baseline of 29.1 years, we have measured the proper motions of 88 young stars with compact radio emission in the core of the Orion Nebula Cluster (ONC) and the neighboring BN/KL region. Our work increases the number of young stars with measured proper motion at radio frequencies by a factor of 2.5 and enables us to perform a better statistical analysis of the kinematics of the region than was previously possible. Most stars (79 out of 88) have proper motions consistent with a Gaussian distribution centered on $\overline{\mu_{\alpha}\cos{\delta}}=1.07\pm0.09\quad{\rm mas\,yr^{-1}}$, and $\overline{\mu_{\delta}}=-0.84\pm0.16\quad{\rm mas\,yr^{-1}}$, with velocity dispersions of $\sigma_{\alpha}=1.08\pm0.07\quad{\rm mas\,\,yr^{-1}},$ $\sigma_{\delta}=1.27\pm0.15\quad{\rm mas\,\,yr^{-1}}$. We looked for organized movements of these stars but found no clear indication of radial expansion/contraction or rotation. The remaining nine stars in our sample show peculiar proper motions that differ from the mean proper motions of the ONC by more than 3-$\sigma$. One of these stars, V 1326 Ori, could have been expelled from the Orion Trapezium 7,000 years ago. Two could be related to the multi-stellar disintegration in the BN/KL region, in addition to the previously known sources BN, I and n. The others either have high uncertainties (so their anomalous proper motions are not firmly established) or could be foreground objects.

The framework of the Riemann-Cartan geometry in three dimensions is used, and the core self-energy is expressed by the translational part of the general Lagrangian quadratic in torsion and curvature. In the Hilbert-Einstein case, the gauge equation plays the role of non-conventional incompatibility law. The stress tensor of the modified screw dislocations is smoothed out within the core. The renormalization of the elastic constants caused by proliferation of the dislocation dipoles is considered. The use of the singularityless dislocation solution modifies the renormalization of the shear modulus in comparison with the case of singular dislocations.

Context: Chemical models of dense cloud cores often utilize the so-called pseudo-time-dependent approximation, in which the physical conditions are held fixed and uniform as the chemistry occurs. In this approximation, the initial abundances chosen, which are totally atomic in nature except for molecular hydrogen, are artificial. A more detailed approach to the chemistry of dense cold cores should include the physical evolution during their early stages of formation. Aims: Our major goal is to investigate the initial synthesis of molecular ices and gas-phase molecules as cold molecular gas begins to form behind a shock in the diffuse interstellar medium. The abundances calculated as the conditions evolve can then be utilized as reasonable initial conditions for a theory of the chemistry of dense cores. Methods: Hydrodynamic shock-wave simulations of the early stages of cold core formation are used to determine the time-dependent physical conditions for a gas-grain chemical network. We follow the cold post-shock molecular evolution of ices and gas-phase molecules for a range of visual extinction up to AV ~ 3, which increases with time. At higher extinction, self-gravity becomes important. Results: As the newly condensed gas enters its cool post-shock phase, a large amount of CO is produced in the gas. As the CO forms, water ice is produced on grains, while accretion of CO produces CO ice. The production of CO2 ice from CO occurs via several surface mechanisms, while the production of CH4 ice is slowed by gas-phase conversion of C into CO.

Degenerate ignition of helium in low-mass stars at the end of the red giant branch phase leads to dynamic convection in their helium cores. One-dimensional (1D) stellar modeling of this intrinsically multi-dimensional dynamic event is likely to be inadequate. Previous hydrodynamic simulations imply that the single convection zone in the helium core of metal-rich Pop I stars grows during the flash on a dynamic timescale. This may lead to hydrogen injection into the core, and a double convection zone structure as known from one-dimensional core helium flash simulations of low-mass Pop III stars. We perform hydrodynamic simulations of the core helium flash in two and three dimensions to better constrain the nature of these events. To this end we study the hydrodynamics of convection within the helium cores of a 1.25 \Msun metal-rich Pop I star (Z=0.02), and a 0.85 \Msun metal-free Pop III star (Z=0) near the peak of the flash. These models possess single and double convection zones, respectively. We use 1D stellar models of the core helium flash computed with state-of-the-art stellar evolution codes as initial models for our multidimensional hydrodynamic study, and simulate the evolution of these models with the Riemann solver based hydrodynamics code Herakles which integrates the Euler equations coupled with source terms corresponding to gravity and nuclear burning. The hydrodynamic simulation of the Pop I model involving a single convection zone covers 27 hours of stellar evolution, while the first hydrodynamic simulations of a double convection zone, in the Pop III model, span 1.8 hours of stellar life. We find differences between the predictions of mixing length theory and our hydrodynamic simulations. The simulation of the single convection zone in the Pop I model shows a strong growth of the size of the convection zone due to turbulent entrainment. Hence we predict that for the Pop I model a hydrogen injection phase (i.e. hydrogen injection into the helium core) will commence after about 23 days, which should eventually lead to a double convection zone structure known from 1D stellar modeling of low-mass Pop III stars. Our two and three-dimensional hydrodynamic simulations of the double (Pop III) convection zone model show that the velocity field in the convection zones is different from that predicted by stellar evolutionary calculations. The simulations suggest that the double convection zone decays quickly, the flow eventually being dominated by internal gravity waves.

Quasi-Periodic Oscillations (QPOs) observed during Soft Gamma Repeaters giant flares are commonly interpreted as the torsional oscillations of magnetars. The oscillatory motion is influenced by the strong interaction between the shear modes of the crust and Alfven-like modes in the core. We study the dynamics which arises through this interaction, and present several new results: (1) We show that global {\it edge modes} frequently reside near the edges of the core Alfven continuum. (2) We compute the magnetar's oscillatory motion for realistic axisymmetric magnetic field configurations and core density profiles, but with a simplified model of the elastic crust. We show that one may generically get multiple gaps in the Alfven continuum. One obtains discrete global {\it gap modes} if the crustal frequencies belong to the gaps. (3) We show that field tangling in the core enhances the role of the core discrete Alfven modes and reduces the role of the core Alfven continuum in the overall oscillatory dynamics of the magnetar. (4) We demonstrate that the system displays transient and/or drifting QPOs when parts of the spectrum of the core Alfven modes contain discrete modes which are densely and regularly spaced in frequency. (5) We show that if the neutrons are coupled into the core Alfven motion, then the post-flare crustal motion is strongly damped and has a very weak amplitude. Thus magnetar QPOs give evidence that the proton and neutron components in the core are dynamically decoupled and that at least one of them is a quantum fluid. (6) We show that it is difficult to identify the high-frequency 625 Hz QPO as being due to the physical oscillatory mode of the magnetar, if the latter's fluid core consists of the standard proton-neutron-electron mixture and is magnetised to the same extent as the crust. We make a further study of the very deep Chandra observation of the X-ray brightest galaxy cluster, A426 in Perseus. We examine the radial distribution of energy flux inferred by the quasi-concentric ripples in surface brightness, assuming they are due to sound waves, and show that it is a significant fraction of the energy lost by radiative cooling within the inner 75-100 kpc, where the cooling time is 4-5 Gyr, respectively. The wave flux decreases outward with radius, consistent with energy being dissipated. Some newly discovered large ripples beyond 100 kpc, and a possible intact bubble at 170 kpc radius, may indicate a larger level of activity by the nucleus a few 100 Myr ago. The distribution of metals in the intracluster gas peaks at a radius of about 40 kpc and is significantly clumpy on scales of 5 kpc. The temperature distribution of the soft X-ray filaments and the hard X-ray emission component found within the inner 50 kpc are analysed in detail. The pressure due to the nonthermal electrons, responsible for a spectral component interpreted as inverse Compton emission, is high within 40 kpc of the centre and boosts the power in sound waves there; it drops steeply beyond 40 kpc. We find no thermal emission from the radio bubbles; in order for any thermal gas to have a filling factor within the bubbles exceeding 50 per cent, the temperature of that gas has to exceed 50 keV.

Fano Resonances are a new continuum excitation mode in light exotic nuclei. By the QPC model we explain these sharp and asymmetric structures as due to the coupling of a single particle elastic channel to the closed core-excited channels. Theoretical model calculations are compared for 15C, 17C and 19C. The theoretical results for 15C are in qualitative agreement with the experimental spectrum.

A numerical study on the effect of facesheet-core disbonds on the post-buckling response of curved honeycomb sandwich panels is presented herein. This work was conducted as part of the development of a damage tolerance approach for the next-generation Space Launch System heavy lift vehicle payload fairing. As such, the study utilized full-scale fairing barrel segments as the structure of interest. The panels were composed of carbon fiber reinforced polymer facesheets and aluminum honeycomb core. The panels were analyzed numerically using the finite element method. Facesheet and core nodes in a predetermined circular region were detached to simulate a disbond induced via low-speed impact between the outer mold line facesheet and honeycomb core. Surface-to-surface contact in the disbonded region was invoked to prevent interpenetration of the facesheet and core elements. The diameter of this disbonded region was varied and the effect of the size of the disbond on the post-buckling response was observed. A significant change in the slope of the edge load-deflection response was used to determine the onset of global buckling and corresponding buckling load.

Finding satisfactory models of the fluid motions at the top of the core is important for delineating what kind of dynamo is in operation, for estimating the heat flux into the base of the mantle, and for forecasting the magnetic field forward in time. Each of these aspects will be discussed.

The nonlinear evolution of unstable sound waves in a uranium plasma has been calculated using a multiple time-scale asymptotic expansion scheme. The fluid equations used include the fission power density, radiation diffusion, and the effects of the changing degree of ionization of the uranium atoms. The nonlinear growth of unstable waves is shown to be limited by mode coupling to shorter wavelength waves which are damped by radiation diffusion. This mechanism limits the wave pressure fluctuations to values of order delta P/P approximates 0.00001 in the plasma of a typical gas-core nuclear rocket engine. The instability is thus not expected to present a control problem for this engine.
