This article aims to describe how community service through implementation of the SMART Adult Learning Strategy to prepare the young generation (in English ability) for global challenges. The activity was carried out in October 2023 at Bengkulu University, with a total of 51 participants in the workshop who were students, teachers, community members, and lecturers from various institutions. To see the workshop's impact on participant English Self-Efficacy which is closely related to their readiness to communicate with international, English-speaking countries, instrument of a closed questionnaire with 7 answer choices of English Self-Efficacy (ESE) Scale was used. The data then analysed by descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that there was a significant increase in ESE level between pre-implementation and after the implementation. Selected ESE tested had significant increases (on average) were: discussing in English with classmates some topics in which they are interested with a 20% increase; participants' confidence in understanding songs in English was 17%, while the on reading news in English was 17%. The highest increase in ESE level was in understanding English articles about Indonesian culture which has an average increase of 21%. The respondents who believed to have more confidence in their ESE as there was a positive statements impact range between 16-21% increase in the tested ESE level. So, it can be concluded that The implementation of the SMART Adult Learning Strategy to prepare the young generation for the global challenges from the perspective of English ability received a positive response from the participants.

This research project was designed to evaluate the synergistic effects of linking workshops for science teachers with electronic conferencing. The rationale for this study was that these two methods of professional development and communication would have an impact beyond that which either would have alone. Included are the abstract, a description of the workshops and computer conferencing, evaluation, a discussion of the relationship between workshops and computer conferencing as professional development tools for teachers of science, the conclusion, recommendations, and a description of project products. This article is from Implementation Science : IS , volume 6 . Abstract Background: Anxiety is a common mental health problem seen in primary care. However, its management in clinical practice varies greatly. Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) have the potential to reduce variations and improve the care received by patients by promoting interventions of proven benefit. However, uptake and adherence to their recommendations can be low. Method/design: This study involves a community based on cluster randomized trial in primary healthcare centres in the Madrid Region (Spain). The project aims to determine whether the use of implementation strategy (including training session, information, opinion leader, reminders, audit, and feed-back) of CPG for patients with anxiety disorders in primary care is more effective than usual diffusion.The number of patients required is 296 (148 in each arm), all older than 18 years and diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and panic attacks by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV (DSM-IV). They are chosen by consecutive sampling.The main outcome variable is the change in two or more points into Goldberg anxiety scale at six and twelve months. Secondary outcome variables include quality of life (EuroQol 5D), and degree of compliance with the CPG recommendations on treatment, information, and referrals to mental health services. Main effectiveness will be analyzed by comparing the patients percentage improvement on the Goldberg scale between the intervention group and the control group. Logistic regression with random effects will be used to adjust for prognostic factors. Confounding factors or factors that might alter the effect recorded will be taken into account in this analysis. Discussion: There is a need to identify effective implementation strategies for CPG for the management of anxiety disorders present in primary care. Ensuring the appropriate uptake of guideline recommendations can reduce clinical variation and improve the care patients receive. Trial registration: ISRCTN: ISRCTN83365316

In June, 1989, the Space Science and Applications Advisory Committee (SSAAC) authorized its Space Physics Subcommittee (SPS) to prepare a plan specifying the future missions, launch sequence, and encompassing themes of the Space Physics Division. The plan, now complete, is the product of a year-long study comprising two week-long workshops - in January and June 1990 - assisted by pre-workshop, inter-workshop, and post-workshop preparation and assessment activities. The workshops engaged about seventy participants, drawn equally from the Division's four science disciplines: cosmic and heliospheric physics, solar physics, magnetosphere physics, and ionosphere-thermosphere-mesospheric physics. An earlier report records the outcome of the first workshop; this is the report of the final workshop.

On October 18, 2010, the NASA Human Health and Performance center (NHHPC) was opened to enable collaboration among government, academic and industry members. Membership rapidly grew to 90 members (http://nhhpc.nasa.gov ) and members began identifying collaborative projects as detailed in this article. In addition, a first workshop in open collaboration and innovation was conducted on January 19, 2011 by the NHHPC resulting in additional challenges and projects for further development. This first workshop was a result of the SLSD successes in running open innovation challenges over the past two years. In 2008, the NASA Johnson Space Center, Space Life Sciences Directorate (SLSD) began pilot projects in open innovation (crowd sourcing) to determine if these new internet-based platforms could indeed find solutions to difficult technical problems. From 2008 to 2010, the SLSD issued 34 challenges, 14 externally and 20 internally. The 14 external challenges were conducted through three different vendors: InnoCentive, Yet2.com and TopCoder. The 20 internal challenges were conducted using the InnoCentive platform, customized to NASA use, and promoted as NASA@Work. The results from the 34 challenges involved not only technical solutions that were reported previously at the 61st IAC, but also the formation of new collaborative relationships. For example, the TopCoder pilot was expanded by the NASA Space Operations Mission Directorate to the NASA Tournament Lab in collaboration with Harvard Business School and TopCoder. This presentation comprises the results of a symposium designed to examine some critical PPB implementation problems, suggest alternatives to some current practices in educational program budgeting, reply to some criticisms of the effectiveness of program budgeting as a resource allocation and planning tool, and to consider the future role of program analysis in education. Four symposium papers speak to these objectives: the Program Structuring Aspect of PPB for Education, by Sue A. Haggart; Analysis of Educational Programs, by Polly Carpenter; Organizational Development and PPB for Education, by C. Brooklyn Derr; and Achieving Balanced Implementation of Program Budgeting for Education, by Donald M. Levine. Introduction.   The fight against tuberculosis (TB) as an infectious and socially significant disease and the protection of children's health, representing one of the urgent problems of the 21st century, retain priority positions in  national medicine. Material and methods.  Analysis of reporting statistical data on tuberculosis in children for 2016-2021 and the main sections of TB practice. Results.  Epidemiological indicators are presented that characterize the burden of TB incidence cases (new cases and recurrences) in children, its dynamics, as well as the structure of clinical forms, features of modern diagnostics and the evolution of the tuberculosis process in patients of diverse ages. The influence of anti-epidemic measures conditioned by the COVID-19 pandemic was noted. The increasing importance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis drug resistance in the choice of chemotherapy regimen is shown. A quantitative and qualitative assessment of specific prevention, predictors and determinants of TB is given. Conclusion .  The results indicate that the key direction for the prevention and control of TB in the Republic of Moldova should remain the integration and consolidation of efforts in providing anti-TB care to the pediatric population and adolescents.

Abstract Background: Given the importance of influence networks in the implementation of evidence-based practices and interventions, it is unclear whether such networks continue to operate as sources of information and advice when they are segmented and disrupted by randomization to different implementation strategy conditions. The present study examines the linkages across implementation strategy conditions of social influence networks of leaders of youth-serving systems in 12 California counties participating in a randomized controlled trial of community development teams (CDTs) to scale up use of an evidence-based practice. Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 38 directors, assistant directors, and program managers of county probation, mental health, and child welfare departments. A web-based survey collected additional quantitative data on information and advice networks of study participants. A mixed-methods approach to data analysis was used to create a sociometric data set (n = 176) to examine linkages between treatment and standard conditions. Results: Of those network members who were affiliated with a county (n = 137), only 6 (4.4%) were directly connected to a member of the opposite implementation strategy condition; 19 (13.9%) were connected by two steps or fewer to a member of the opposite implementation strategy condition; 64 (46.7%) were connected by three or fewer steps to a member of the opposite implementation strategy condition. Most of the indirect steps between individuals who were in different implementation strategy conditions were connections involving a third non-county organizational entity that had an important role in the trial in keeping the implementation strategy conditions separate. When these entities were excluded, the CDT network exhibited fewer components and significantly higher betweenness centralization than did the standard condition network. Conclusion: Although the integrity of the RCT in this instance was not compromised by study participant influence networks, RCT designs should consider how influence networks may extend beyond boundaries established by the randomization process in implementation studies. This article is from Implementation Science : IS , volume 9 . Abstract Background: Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability internationally. One of the three effective interventions in the acute phase of stroke care is thrombolytic therapy with tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), if given within 4.5 hours of onset to appropriate cases of ischaemic stroke. Objectives: To test the effectiveness of a multi-component multidisciplinary collaborative approach compared to usual care as a strategy for increasing thrombolysis rates for all stroke patients at intervention hospitals, while maintaining accepted benchmarks for low rates of intracranial haemorrhage and high rates of functional outcomes for both groups at three months. Methods and design: A cluster randomised controlled trial of 20 hospitals across 3 Australian states with 2 groups: multi- component multidisciplinary collaborative intervention as the experimental group and usual care as the control group. The intervention is based on behavioural theory and analysis of the steps, roles and barriers relating to rapid assessment for thrombolysis eligibility; it involves a comprehensive range of strategies addressing individual-level and system-level change at each site. The primary outcome is the difference in tPA rates between the two groups post-intervention. The article discusses the features of the place and role of the budget in ensuring the stability of economic growth in the light of the implementation of the main directions of the Development Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2035. Based on the results of the study, within the framework of the article, the authors propose proposals for improving the efficiency of financial policy in the near future, through the introduction of an innovative management system, based on results-oriented IT. Why do we need better regulations? Their adoption allows the system of state forecasting to function effectively in the conditions of the development of an innovative economy. It is noted that in order to implement the above proposal, the Government will need to provide conditions for creating a favorable tax and innovation climate, business development, and intensify work to reduce administrative barriers. And as tools, specific recommendations were given on taking the necessary measures to introduce a methodology for evaluating and monitoring investment projects financed from budget funds.

A case study is presented which tests Hossler's 1984 assertion (that well conceptualized plans to manage enrollment can lead to a better institutional self-understanding and an enhanced institutional health and vitality) and critically examines one private, comprehensive university's effort to improve the quality and quantity of its environmental and market data. Investigation focused on (1) factors contributing to the design and implementation of a new enrollment management system and (2) tangible effects attributed to the system 5 years after its inception. Information is presented as follows: toward a collaborative solution; defining the strategic components (market research, institutional pricing and student aid, institutional competition, admissions yield, admissions selectivity, and student retention); and after 5 years, some encouraging results. It is concluded that information on enrollment is crucial to institutions of higher learning to prevent an untimely demise. While private, enrollment-dependent campuses are the most vulnerable to the threat of dwindling freshman classes, all colleges and universities can benefit from the strategic framework constructed by the university in the study. Currently fielded electric-powered small remotely-piloted aircraft (RPA) lack endurance desired by warfighters, and internal combustion engine (ICE) RPAs generate undesirable acoustic and thermal signatures. Hybrid-electric (HE) propulsion systems would combine both electric power for endurance and ICE power for cruise and climb modes. Use of HE systems would eliminate undesirable signatures in addition to providing considerable fuel savings over time. Five components were used in this HE system: the ICE, electric motor (EM), electromagnetic clutch, battery pack, and a propeller. Control of such a system in a small RPA has never been attempted before. A rulebased controller was developed to manage this HE system in C code. This system and its various sensors were analyzed on a custom-built dynamometer test stand that was developed in conjunction with other students. LabView screens were developed to aid this testing and interface with the sensor suite. The controller's performance over 9 distinct operating modes, including 4 operational flying states, were validated to provide the most optimal operation of a HE-RPA system of about 13.6 kg (30.0 lbf).

The United States Navy is immersed in an era of dynamic and sweeping change. Changes in the threat, the development of new technologies, and an anticipated decline in defense funding will shape the Navy of the future. This study seeks to examine the projected impact of these changes on the surface forces of the United States Navy. It examines current Maritime Strategy and its applicability for the future; the impact of future Maritime Strategy on the surface navy; the impact of technology and the threat on ship design and future surface operations; and lastly, the study examines the element of risk and its impact on the generation of future force level requirements.
