I know everyone will say this guy needed to die, but I think the cop EXECUTED THIS GUY after he refused to engage UNTIL A PESKY CITIZEN JUMPED IN TO HELP. The Stockton Police Department released body camera, 911 calls, picture and details of an Officer-Involved-Shooting Mai 11-202. At 9:45 a.m., the Stockton Police Telecommunications Center received a call of a disturbance in the 4400 block of La Cresta Way. The caller reported hearing screaming, saw a woman with a ripped shirt who was bleeding, and appeared to have been assaulted. Stockton Police Officer Jimmy Inn was dispatched to the call and arrived on scene at 10:07 a.m. Shortly after arriving on scene, Officer Inn knocked on the security door and stood off to the side. A voice from inside the residence said, “Hey Police” and a man later identified has suspect Lance Lowe, 30 immediately opened the door shooting Officer Inn multiple times. As Stockton Police Officer Pancho Freer arrived on scene he heard gunshots and saw the man standing over Officer Inn holding a gun. Lance Lowe then shot at Officer Freer striking his patrol car. Officer Freer returned fire from inside his patrol car. Lance Lowe briefly entered his home and returned moments later holding his eight-year-old son in the front yard of the residence. Lance Lowe began to strangle his son and refused to comply with Officer Freer’s commands. As Officer Freer approached on foot, a community member tackled Lance Lowe, and as the child was freed, Officer Freer fired his duty weapon multiple times striking the man. Officers began live-saving measures on both Officer Inn and Lance Lowen. Medics arrived and transported Officer Inn and the man to an area hospital where both died from their injuries. The eight-year-old boy was medically cleared and released to his mother. Witnesses said the female victim walked away from the scene prior to police arrival and investigators are currently trying to contact her for a statement. During a search of the residence, Officers located a firearm inside. Due to this being an officer-involved-shooting, we initiated a multi-agency critical incident investigation with the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation, California’s Department of Justice, and San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office. Weapon Recovered: Glock Handgun. Decedent: Lance Lowe, 30, lived at the residence. Involved Officer: Officer Pancho Freer, hired in April 2012, assigned to the Field Operations Division. The involved officer will be placed on three day paid administrative leave. Deceased Officer: Officer Jimmy Inn, hired in December 2015, assigned to the Field. The Los Angeles report that the suspect Lance Lowe, 30 had previously been arrested in Los Angeles on firearms charges and was on parole for the armed theft of a car, court records show. Lance Lowe, 30, was arrested Feb. 5, 2017, on Olympic Boulevard near Francisco Street in downtown Los Angeles on weapons charges. He listed himself as an Oakland resident at the time. The L.A. County district attorney charged Lowe with grand theft auto with a firearm, conspiring to commit a crime, child endangerment, possession of an assault weapon and carrying a loaded firearm in a car or public place. All but the grand theft charge was ultimately dismissed. Although Lowe was sentenced in 2018 to five years in prison, he was released in April 2020 on supervised parole, according to Dana Simas, a spokeswoman with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. According to corrections officials, Lowe received credit for more than a year he had already served in jail before his 2018 sentencing. Inmates usually receive one day of credit for each day they serve in county jail.

The strangled body of a Chicago teenager's been found in an abandoned high school in Gary, Indiana. Police'd first asked for the public's help in identifying the body after it was found Tuesday night inside Ralph Waldo Emerson High School. ABC 7 says she's now been identified as Connita Richardson, who was 17 and from Chicago's south side Hyde Park neighborhood. The coroner says she had minor trauma to her body. Police found her after getting an anonymous call about a suspicious person inside the school. Neighbors've long said the school, which closed in 2008, needs to be secured because there's a lot of crime there. Sources tell ABC 7 Richardson went to a vocational school nearby.

Atlanta Constitution Saturday, May 24th, 1913 Grand Jury is Now Engaged in Conducting Investigation of the Murder of Mary Phagan. That the state in its bills of indictment for the murder of Mary Phagan, brought separately against Leo M. Frank and Newt Lee, charges that the girl was strangled, was learned yesterday afternoon following the adjournment of the grand jury, which took up the case at 11 o'clock in the morning and went into its details until 1:45. Shortly after the adjournment of the grand jury Solicitor Hugh M. Dorsey expressed himself as well pleased with the results of the morning session. "I am well satisfied with results to the present time," said the solicitor when asked how the case was progressing. "No, I can't say how many or what witnesses I will place on the stand tomorrow," he replied. "That depends to a great extent on the members of the grand jury and on how they feel in regard to the matter." Hearing Resumed Today. The hearing will be resumed at 10 o'clock today, and according to Solicitor Hugh Dorsey, he is uncertain as to whether or not a conclusion will be reached during the day's session, which is expected to adjourn shortly after 1 o'clock. Six witnesses were taken before the grand jury by the solicitor in his attempt to secure indictments. The indictments were drawn separately, but were presented at the same time. Both the men held are charged with murder, that being the charge upon which the coroner's jury bound them over to the grand jury. Witnesses Before Jury. The witnesses examined were Dr. J. W. Hurt, recently elected county physician, who examined the body before it was interred; Police Sergeant L. S. Dobbs, one of the officers who first found the body; R. P. Barrett, the machinist who found the evidences of blood and hair on a machine in the factory; "Boots Rogers, in whose machine the officers rode to the factory on the morning the girl was found, and City Detective J. N. Starnes, whose names appears as prosecutor on both bills of indictment. Dr. Hurt stated that he had told the grand jury practically what he told the coroner's jury when they were investigating the case. He was the first witness called Friday morning. The other witnesses were called upon in the order named, and each one was required to go into detail as to his knowledge of the crime. Detective Starnes was kept in the jury room seven minutes longer than any other witness and probably testified in all about half an hour. "I told them enough to fill a book," he remarked on coming out, "but if I had been given time to tell all that I know about this case it would have been enough to fill a library." What other witnesses the solicitor will call today has been indicated by him. His present indication is that he intends to secure indictments, if possible, with the use of as few witnesses as possible, but to place as many as he can before the jury should they desire to go more into detail and not be satisfied with the first set of witnesses. There are believed to be two reasons for this: First, that he naturally wishes to save the members of the grand jury as much time as possible and to save the state what expense he can, and, second, and most important, that he feels that he should not show his hand, even before the grand jury, any more than is absolutely necessary. Of the twenty-three men on the grand jury all but two were present at the M. Beutell, who had been excused in order that he might accompany the Old Guard on its eastern trip, and George Gershon, who had been excused to go to New York city. The grand jury at the hearing was composed of L. H. Beck, foreman; F. P. H. Akers, R. R. Nash, Charles Heinz, H. G. Hubbard, J. D. Wing, R. A. Redding, V. H. Kriegshaber, R. F. Sams, A. D. Moon is credited with production of Sideburns fanzine (4 issues) - notably, the December '76 issue featured the much copied Playing in the band diagram - can anybody pluck that one out of the ether?
