2Single-File Diffusion Of Externally Driven Particles

We study 1-D diffusion of $N$ hard-core interacting Brownian particles driven by the space- and time-dependent external force. We give the exact solution of the $N$-particle Smoluchowski diffusion equation. In particular, we investigate the nonequilibrium energetics of two interacting particles under the time-periodic driving. The hard-core interaction induces entropic repulsion which differentiates the energetics of the two particles. We present exact time-asymptotic results which describe the mean energy, the accepted work and heat, and the entropy production of interacting particles and we contrast these quantities against the corresponding ones for the non-interacting particles.

3Effective Edwards-Wilkinson Equation For Single-file Diffusion

In this work, we present an effective discrete Edwards-Wilkinson equation aimed to describe the single-file diffusion process. The key physical properties of the system are captured defining an effective elasticity, which is proportional to the single particle diffusion coefficient and to the inverse squared mean separation between particles. The effective equation gives a description of single-file diffusion using the global roughness of the system of particles, which presents three characteristic regimes, namely normal diffusion, subdiffusion and saturation, separated by two crossover times. We show how these regimes scale with the parameters of the original system. Additional repulsive interaction terms are also considered and we analyze how the crossover times depend on the intensity of the additional terms. Finally, we show that the roughness distribution can be well characterized by the Edwards-Wilkinson universal form for the different single-file diffusion processes studied here.

Single-file diffusion is a theoretically challenging many-body problem where the calculation of even the simplest observables, e.g. mean square displacement, for a tracer particle requires a heavy mathematical machinery. There is therefore a need for simple approaches which predict qualitatively correct behaviours. Here we put forward one such method which we use to investigate the influence of non-thermal initial conditions on the dynamics of a tracer particle. With our new approach we reproduce, up to scaling, several known asymptotic results for the tracer particle mean square displacement.

6Steady-State Properties Of Single-File Systems With Conversion

We have used Monte-Carlo methods and analytical techniques to investigate the influence of the characteristic parameters, such as pipe length, diffusion, adsorption, desorption and reaction rate constants on the steady-state properties of Single-File Systems with a reaction. We looked at cases when all the sites are reactive and when only some of them are reactive. Comparisons between Mean-Field predictions and Monte-Carlo simulations for the occupancy profiles and reactivity are made. Substantial differences between Mean-Field and the simulations are found when rates of diffusion are high. Mean-Field results only include Single-File behavior by changing the diffusion rate constant, but it effectively allows passing of particles. Reactivity converges to a limit value if more reactive sites are added: sites in the middle of the system have little or no effect on the kinetics. Occupancy profiles show approximately exponential behavior from the ends to the middle of the system.

8Tracer Dynamics In A Single-file System With Absorbing Boundary

The paper addresses the single-file diffusion in the presence of an absorbing boundary. The emphasis is on an interplay between the hard-core interparticle interaction and the absorption process. The resulting dynamics exhibits several qualitatively new features. First, starting with the exact probability density function for a given particle (a tracer), we study the long-time asymptotics of its moments. Both the mean position and the mean square displacement are controlled by dynamical exponents which depend on the initial order of the particle in the file. Secondly, conditioning on non-absorption, we study the distribution of long-living particles. In the conditioned framework, the dynamical exponents are the same for all particles, however, a given particle possesses an effective diffusion coefficient which depends on its initial order. After performing the thermodynamic limit, the conditioned dynamics of the tracer is subdiffusive, the generalized diffusion coefficient $D_{1/2}$ being different from that reported for the system without absorbing boundary.

9Modeling Single-File Diffusion By Step Fractional Brownian Motion And Generalized Fractional Langevin Equation

Single-file diffusion behaves as normal diffusion at small time and as anomalous subdiffusion at large time. These properties can be described by fractional Brownian motion with variable Hurst exponent or multifractional Brownian motion. We introduce a new stochastic process called Riemann-Liouville step fractional Brownian motion which can be regarded as a special case of multifractional Brownian motion with step function type of Hurst exponent tailored for single-file diffusion. Such a step fractional Brownian motion can be obtained as solution of fractional Langevin equation with zero damping. Various types of fractional Langevin equations and their generalizations are then considered to decide whether their solutions provide the correct description of the long and short time behaviors of single-file diffusion. The cases where dissipative memory kernel is a Dirac delta function, a power-law function, and a combination of both of these functions, are studied in detail. In addition to the case where the short time behavior of single-file diffusion behaves as normal diffusion, we also consider the possibility of the process that begins as ballistic motion.

10Statistical Properties Of Single-file Diffusion Front

Statistical properties of the front of a semi-infinite system of single-file diffusion (one dimensional system where particles cannot pass each other, but in-between collisions each one independently follow diffusive motion) are investigated. Exact as well as asymptotic results are provided for the probability density function of (a) the front-position, (b) the maximum of the front-positions, and (c) the first-passage time to a given position. The asymptotic laws for the front-position and the maximum front-position are found to be governed by the Fisher-Tippett-Gumbel extreme value statistics. The asymptotic properties of the first-passage time is dominated by a stretched-exponential tail in the distribution. The farness of the front with the rest of the system is investigated by considering (i) the gap from the front to the closest particle, and (ii) the density profile with respect to the front-position, and analytical results are provided for late time behaviors.

11Single-file Diffusion On Self-similar Substrates

We study the single file diffusion problem on a one-dimensional lattice with a self-similar distribution of hopping rates. We find that the time dependence of the mean-square displacement of both a tagged particle and the center of mass of the system present anomalous power laws modulated by logarithmic periodic oscillations. The anomalous exponent of a tagged particle is one half of the exponent of the center of mass, and always smaller than 1/4. Using heuristic arguments, the exponents and the periods of oscillation are analytically obtained and confirmed by Monte Carlo simulations.

12Single-File Diffusion In A Box

We study diffusion of (fluorescently) tagged hard-core interacting particles of finite size in a finite one-dimensional system. We find an exact analytical expression for the tagged particle probability density using a coordinate Bethe-ansatz, from which the mean square displacement is calculated. The analysis show the existence of three regimes of drastically different behavior for short, intermediate and large times. The results show excellent agreement with stochastic simulations (Gillespie algorithm). The findings of the Letter holds promise for the development of novel bio-nano sensors.

We show that the diffusion of a single file of particles moving in a fluctuating modulated 1D channel is enhanced with respect to the one in a bald pipe. This effect, induced by the fluctuations of the modulation, is favored by the incommensurability between the channel potential modulation and the moving file periodicity. This phenomenon could be of importance in order to optimize the critical current in superconductors, in particular in the case where mobile vortices move in 1D channels designed by adapted patterns of pinning sites.

15The Crossover From Single File To Fickian Diffusion

The crossover from single-file diffusion, where the mean-square displacement scales as ~t^(1/2), to normal Fickian diffusion, where ~t$, is studied as a function of channel width for colloidal particles. By comparing Brownian dynamics to a hybrid molecular dynamics and mesoscopic simulation technique, we can study the effect of hydrodynamic interactions on the single file mobility and on the crossover to Fickian diffusion for wider channel widths. For disc-like particles with a steep interparticle repulsion, the single file mobilities for different particle densities are well described by the exactly solvable hard-rod model. This holds both for simulations that include hydrodynamics, as well as for those that don't. When the single file constraint is lifted, then for particles of diameter \sigma and pipe of width $L$ such that (L- 2 \sigma)/\sigma = \delta_c < < 1 the particles can be described as hopping past one-another in an average time t_{hop}. For shorter times t < < t_{hop} the particles still exhibit sub-diffusive behaviour, but at longer times t > t_{hop}, normal Fickian diffusion sets in with an effective diffusion constant D_{hop} ~ t_{hop}^(1/2). For the Brownian particles, t_{hop} ~ 1/\delta_c^(2) when \delta < < 1, but when hydrodynamic interactions are included, we find a stronger dependence than \delta_c^{-2}. We attribute this difference to short-range lubrication forces that make it more difficult for particles to hop past each other in very narrow channels.

We derive and study a theoretical description for single file diffusion, i.e., diffusion in a one dimensional lattice of particles with hard core interaction. It is well known that for this system a tagged particle has anomalous diffusion for long times. The novelty of the present approach is that it allows for the derivation of correlations between a tagged particle and other particles of the system at a given distance with empty sites in between. The behavior of the correlation gives deeper insights into the processes involved. Numerical integration of differential equations are in good agreement with Monte Carlo simulations.

24Nonequilibrium Field-induced Phase Separation In Single-file Diffusion
By Fatemeh Tabatabaei and Gunter M. Schütz
Using an analytically tractable lattice model for reaction-diffusion processes of hard-core particles we demonstrate that under nonequilibrium conditions phase coexistence may arise even if the system is effectively one-dimensional as e.g. in the channel system of some zeolites or in artificial optical lattices. In our model involving two species of particles a steady-state particle current is maintained by a density gradient between the channel boundaries and by the influence of an external driving force. This leads to the development of a fluctuating but always microscopically sharp interface between two domains of different densities which are fixed by the boundary chemical potentials. The internal structure of the interface becomes very simple for strong driving force. We calculate the drift velocity and diffusion coefficient of the interface in terms of the microscopic model parameters.

Using that info and adjusting your infill on the model to use the right amount, you should be able to create the color change you want at the right time with some degree of accuracy.

We study the conditions for reactivity enhancement of catalytic processes in porous solids by use of molecular traffic control (MTC) as a function of grain size. We extend a recently introduced two dimensional model system to three dimensions. With dynamic Monte-Carlo simulations and analytical solution of the associated Master equation we obtain a quantitative description of the MTC effect in the limit of fast reactivity. The efficiency ratio (compared with a topologically and structurally similar reference system without MTC) is inversely proportional to the grain diameter.

33Single File Diffusion Of Macroscopic Charged Particles

In this paper, we study a macroscopic system of electrically interacting metallic beads organized as a sequence along an annulus. A random mechanical shaking mimics the thermal excitation. We exhibit non Fickian diffusion (Single File Diffusion) at large time. We measure the mobility of the particles, and compare it to theoretical expectations. We show that our system cannot be accurately described by theories assuming only hard sphere interactions. Its behavior is qualitatively described by a theory extended to more realistic potentials [Kollmann, PRL {\bf 90} 180602, (2003)]. A correct quantitative agreement is shown, and we interpret the discrepancies by the violation of a key assumption of the theory, that of overdamped dynamics. We recast previous results on colloids with known interaction potentials, and compare them quantitatively to the theory. Focusing on the transition between ordinary and single file diffusion, we exhibit a dimensionless crossover time that is of order one both for colloids and our system, although the time and length scales differ by several orders of magnitude.

34Tagged Particle In Single-file Diffusion With Arbitrary Initial Conditions

We compute the full probability distribution of the positions of a tagged particle exactly for given arbitrary initial positions of the particles and for general single-particle propagators. We consider the thermodynamic limit of our exact expressions in quenched and annealed settings. For a particular class of single-particle propagators, the exact formula is expressed in a simple integral form in the quenched case whereas in the annealed case, it is expressed as a simple combination of Bessel functions. In particular, we focus on the step and the power-law initial configurations. In the former case, a drift is induced even when the one-particle propagators are symmetric. On the other hand, in the later case the scaling of the cumulants of the position of the tracer becomes different than the uniform case. We provide numerical verifications of our results.

Getting started You can use Visual Studio's built-in debugger or WinDBG to debug Chromium. You don't need to use the IDE to build in order to use the debugger: autoninja is used to build Chromium and most developers invoke it from a command prompt, and then open the IDE for debugging as necessary. To start debugging an already-built executable with Visual Studio just launch Visual Studio (2019 or higher) and select File-> Open-> Project/Solution (Ctrl+Shift+O) and select the executable of interest. This will create a solution with that executable as the 'project'. You can then launch the debugger with F5 or F11 or from the Debug menu. If you right-click on the executable in Solution Explorer and select properties then you can edit things such as the executable path, command-line arguments, and working directory. You can add additional executables to the solution by using File-> Add-> Existing Project and selecting another already-built executable. Find memory leaks Note: as with Heap Snapshots the utility of UMDH is greatly reduced now because PartitionAlloc Everywhere has mostly replaced the Windows heap. The Windows heap manager has a really useful debug flag, where it can be asked to capture and store a stack trace with every allocation. The tool to scrape these stack traces out of processes is UMDH, which comes with WinDbg . UMDH is great. It will capture a snapshot of the heap state as many times as you like, and it'll do it fairly quickly. You then run it again against either a single snapshot, or a pair of snapshots, at which time it'll symbolize the stack traces and aggregate usage up to unique stack traces. Turning on the user stack trace database for chrome.exe with gflags.exe makes it run unbearably slowly; however, turning on the user stack trace database on for the browser alone is just fine. While it's possible to turn on the user stack database with the "!gflag" debugging extension, it's too late to do this by the time the initial debugger breakpoint hits. The only reasonable way to do this is to Launch GFlags.exe, Enable the user stack trace database (per image below), Launch Chrome under the debugger. Set a breakpont when chrome.dll loads with "sxe ld chrome.dll". Step up, to allow Chrome.dll to initialize. Disable the stack trace database in GFlags.exe. Miscellaneous Note that by default Application Verifier only works with non-official builds of Chromium. 47From Random Walk To Single-file Diffusion

We report an experimental study of diffusion in a quasi-one-dimensional (q1D) colloid suspension which behaves like a Tonks gas. The mean squared displacement as a function of time is described well with an ansatz encompassing a time regime that is both shorter and longer than the mean time between collisions. This ansatz asserts that the inverse mean squared displacement is the sum of the inverse mean squared displacement for short time normal diffusion (random walk) and the inverse mean squared displacement for asymptotic single-file diffusion (SFD). The dependence of the single-file 1D mobility on the concentration of the colloids agrees quantitatively with that derived for a hard rod model, which confirms for the first time the validity of the hard rod SFD theory. We also show that a recent SFD theory by Kollmann leads to the hard rod SFD theory for a Tonks gas.

this simple extruded design made in fusion 360 and inspired by the SG-1 Coaster by Trevor Day (EnterpriseXDDesign on My Mini Factory) I design this four colour offset coaster using various heights to make colour changing an option. when using it as a coaster the glass only sits on the four bronze chevon pieces and the outer border(s) there are multiple ways of changing colours mid print, 1: Prusa Control. for me the easiest way was to use the option in Prusa control the only downside to this is having no control over settings and getting lots of stringing in the final result but not everyone has a Prusa and this will not work for my ender 3 2: using cura once you have sliced the model you can go to layer view and find the layer number to do the filament changes remember these then go to Extensions>Post Processing>Modify G-Code once clicking the modify g-code button you can input the different layers for the multiple colours 3: changing the colour manually the most time-consuming way but the one with the least amount of prep work with this method you will have to watch the whole print( which isn't all that different than what I usually do :} ) and keep an eye on the z height the whole time changing the filament with your printer controls which are usually in the tune section under print temp Note: slicing at different layer heights in Prusa control will not give you the same height as my measurements use these as a guideline and do your own measurements before printing eg 0.2 gives me 1.80mm as the measurement where 0.05 gives 1.55mm when using Prusa control or manually changing the heights to change the filament are these where the measured measurement I took from Prusa control base layer (black) 0mm bottom chevon (silver) 1.55mm "SG1" (white) 3.25mm border and other chevrons (bronze)3.70mm all logos are the property of there respective companies

49Effects Of Boundary Conditions On Single-File Pedestrian Flow

In this paper we investigate effects of boundary conditions on one dimensional pedestrian flow which involves purely longitudinal interactions. Qualitatively, stop-and-go waves are observed under closed boundary condition and dissolve when the boundary is open. To get more detailed information the fundamental diagrams of the open and closed systems are compared using Voronoi-based measurement method. Higher maximal specific flow is observed from the pedestrian movement at open boundary condition.
