Hip Hop/soul group Jagged Edge performs "The Way That You Talk" to get things started, followed by Amateur Night, then Hangman gives us a slow jam, and then Shades of Soul comes on stage. Finally, James Stevens II gives us some laughs and Jagged Edge performs part of "Wednesday Lover".

In this clip from Showtime at the Apollo , a vocalist from (presumably) Chicago performs an emotional rendition of Rose Royce's "I'm Going Down", a song made popular by Mary J. Blige under the title "I'm Goin' Down". Afterward, the singer is briefly interviewed by co-host Christopher "Kid" Reid. The spelling of the vocalist's name isn't verified. She is introduced by host Kiki Shepard as (phonetically) "TAH-ree tor-AY". A YouTube user posted the same segment and spelled the name as Tori Toray , so that's what is being used here, for now. With Marching Tuba, horns and drums in the line up, one may think that they are limited to New Orleans street jazz stuff... yet the band fuses R & B, Latin and Moorish sounds,blues ,Texas Style Hip Hop(D.J. Go Go gives the listener the eclectic sound of the Inner City All Star( a comment from Sheena Myers of Venues Magazine) The Inner City concept was born back in 2002 by the Leader, Calvin Sexton, who attended the Unviersity of North Texas, where he earned a degree in music. Being in and out of school allowed him to perform with legendary guitarist, Lady Bo, of Bo Diddly, and work on cruise lines where the island music would feed his song writing for the Inner City All Stars. The band has recieved a standing ovation at the Apollo Theater in New York City(Showtime at the Apollo TV Show). Performing at Festivals: Denton Jazz and Arts, Swomp Romp Austin, TX, Ft. Worth Main Street Festival, San Antonio’s Taste of New Orleans Festival to name a few.
