Audio Review of Music Gear F2516 Fm Transmitter sold for $6.00 at Family Dollar store. Beginning with dead air to show noise in the fm signal before modulation was added. Howard and Sharky - Enter Howard The Skeleton was played next, first with processing software and last have without. The liner at the end was over modulated on purpose to show there was no onboard agc. This transmitter does not transmit in stereo unless the one I bought is defective, also it seems there is no pre-emphasis either. Processing preset was Orban 8400 with aggressive processing and pre-emphasis on. Still not in stereo, coverage was fair throughout the house and out to the car under a metal car port 50 feet away, on the car stereo it was fuzzy. This recording was achieved using a usb audio interface attached to a Grundig G3 on 89.3 FM and recorded using Audacity in mono with no additional processing. On a scale from 1 to 5 , i give this tiny transmitter a 3 for decent coverage but the audio is lacking and it is mono. Transmitter runs off of 2 aaa batteries or a 12v adaptor in the car.
