Documentation of the Testing of an Advanced Mirror System Demonstrator for NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, successor to the Hubble Space Telescope under way at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.

Background: Anaemia is a common complication of HIV infection that can have a significant impact on the health and wellbeing of affected individuals. Evaluating the relationship between haemoglobin concentration, CD4 count and viral load is therefore important in order to predict and reduce the risk of anaemia in people living with HIV. Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between haemoglobin concentration, CD4 count and viral load in people living with HIV. Method: This retrospective cross-sectional study was carried out at Parirenyatwa Opportunistic Infections Clinic, Zimbabwe. The study was conducted from November 2022 to April 2023. The data collected from each patient`s data base included; demographics, haemoglobin value, CD4 count and viral load count. Data collected during this study were captured on spreadsheet using Microsoft excel and the data were analyzed using the Graph Pad prism software. Results: A total of 244 participants were enrolled into the study from the Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals Opportunistic Infections Clinic of which 102 (41.8%) were male and 142 (58.2%) were female. Participants with high CD4 count and low viral load had a mean haemoglobin of 13.3g/dL, those with low CD4 count and high viral load count had a mean haemoglobin of 8.3g/dl, those with high CD4 count and high viral load count had a mean haemoglobin of 12.5g/dl and those with low CD4 and low viral load count had a mean haemoglobin of 10.70g/dl. Conclusion: The overall finding from this study was that haemoglobin levels of people living with HIV is greatly affected by viral load and CD4 counts and that patients’ haemoglobin levels inversely tract the HIV viral loads. Low CD4 count and/ or high viral load count is associated with anaemia in people living with HIV.

This report describes the effort undertaken by Aeroflex Laboratories to achieve mirror assemblies (SM-D-657649) which are capable of meeting the required optical performance under environmental conditions. In the course of a 9 month study, 22 mirrors were assembled using variations in techniques and controls to obtain good mirrors. The results of this effort have shown that the specified two-part epoxy cement presents major difficulties in achieving these results. Moreover, even under carefully controlled conditions, the final result (From an optical performance viewpoint) may still be random and the production yield severely affected. This would be reflected in cost impact to the applicable systems. The study also shows that an alternate cement has been identified which permits a simpler (and cheaper) assembly technique to be used with a consistently excellent optical performance achieved. As of this report date, 9 mirrors out of 9 have been successfully assembled and passed the required MTF test specifications. (Author)

A new parameter regime of laser wakefield acceleration driven by sub-petawatt femotsecond lasers is proposed, which enables the generation of relativistic electron mirrors further accelerated by the plasma wave. Integrated particle-in-cell simulation including the mirror formation and Thomson scattering demonstrates that efficient coherent backscattering up to keV photon energy can be obtained with moderate driver laser intensities and high density gas targets.

Gary Fisher is a Manchester based sound and visual artist and improvisor working in a continuous process of experimentation and enquiry focussed around instinctive or investigatory responses to sound, images, places, words, and objects. The overall practice includes various approaches and may be considered a constant 'work in progress'. Central to this process is a fascination with amplifying textures, surfaces and objects, testing the sound-making possibilities of objects, using found objects and sounds and a fascination with analogue and manual technologies and in finding alternative approaches to more conventional instruments and technologies. This includes experimenting with various media and approaches resulting in sound-making, recording and performance, drawing, collage, photography, texts and installation. Recordings, performances, objects and images may be seen as individual pieces and as part of the larger 'work in progress' that is the process itself. The live performances often take the form a continuous improvised composition using various found objects, electronic devices, percussion and home-made noise-makers. The recording "Sea of Mirrors" was made live at the 'Stroke Club' night at Gulliver's, Manchester using; cymbal and book with contact mics; Buddha Machine; tape recorder with Amstrad tape; reverb spring and FM radio. Also on the release are two out-takes from a rehearsal recorded at home.

An innovative bioformulation labeled “Biofertile†of six endophytic diazotrophs was evaluated for improving flower quality, bulb yield and beauty features of amaryllis (Hippeastrum vittatum Herb). Along the winter growing seasons 2014-2015 and 2015-2016, leaf characteristics (numbers per plant, length, surface area, fresh and dry weights) significantly stimulated due to Biofertile treatment. Incorporation into soil of a rational N level with plant hormones did magnify the beneficial impact of the diazotroph formulation. Simultaneous bio-product inoculation and N fertilization resulted in earlier flower opening and budding, up to 18 days were resulted. The highest seasonal average bulb fresh weight of 76.9 g plant-1 was scored for plants inoculated with the diazotroph biopreparate together with 50 % N dose in presence of gibberellin and benzyl adenine. Addition of full N regime increased chlorophyll and carbohydrate contents of leaves by 26.8 and 16.7 % respectively over untreated amaryllis, Relatively low amounts of indole (0.56 mg/ 100 g fresh weight) and phenol (1.41 mg/ 100 g fresh weight) were estimated for untreated plants, higher quantities of 1.31 and 336 mg/ 100 g fresh weight were recorded for Biofertile-inoculated plants. Net N gains of 18.7 - 22.2 kg acre-1 were introduced into the ornamental plant growth media via inoculation with Biofertile either with or without the other additives. Results of this study open a new window on the successful role of the Integrated Fertilizer Management (IFM) concept for improving flower and bulb yields and characteristics with a unique contribution in the beauty features of amaryllis.

2021 Edit: Hiya! I still get comments on this MAP which kinda makes me iffy a bit, but I'm gonna edit this to clarify things. I truly knew little about this AU and the majority of it is "my own take" to it. The main concept of this MAP is Spottedleaf not accepting her death and how she can't be with Firestar after all. "Yandere" would be more suited than "Evil" since, in this MAP, she solely focuses on being with Firestar rather than revenge. ALSO, I know she looks like Mapleshade! I know the song would also suit Ashfur! I get comments about it all the time since the MAP was posted. We present these reductions as functions of the ratio of the magnetic field decorrelation length to the electron mean free path at the thermal speed $V_T=\sqrt{2kT/m_e}$. REGIONAL MIRRORS GHANA-EASTERN 2020

The model of the six mirrors of the classroom and its use in teaching biology in a cooperative learning mode were implemented in high school classrooms. In this study we present: a) The model of the six mirrors of the classroom (MSMC). b) Cooperative learning settings: 1. The Group Investigation; 2. The Jigsaw Method; and 3. Peer Tutoring in Small Investigative Groups (PTSIG). c) Two biology topics: 1. Microorganism; 2. Evolution. The MSMC examines the processes of a) organization, b) learning tasks, c) teacher instructional behaviors, d) teachers' communicative behaviors, e) students' academic performance, and (f) students' social behaviors. Each mirror is described in terms of five levels of complexity from simple to complex. Both subjects were taught in Cooperative Leaning Methods: The Jigsaw Method, Group Investigation (GI) rooted in Dewey's (1927) philosophy, and Peer Tutoring in small Investigative Groups which is a combination of the Jigsaw method and Group Investigation. Two biology subjects were instructed through the MSCM and PTSIG: 1) Microorganisms, learning unit written in Arabic and Hebrew for 9th grade students in the STS approach structured around two biological principles: a) the unity of the life, b) the relationship between structure and function. 2) Evolution, learning unit for 12th grade students, included topics on Lamarck's, Darwin's and neutral theories, punctuated equilibrium, genetics diversity, natural selection, specialization and phylogenesis.
