The authors in this book have analyzed the socio-economic and psychological problems faced by People with Disabilities (PWDs) and their families. The study was made by collecting data using both fuzzy linguistic questionnaire / by interviews in case they are not literates from 2,15,811 lakhs people. This data was collected using the five Non Government Organizations (NGOs) from northern Tamil Nadu.

Mathematical modelling and analysis are described for studies of the dynamical response of gaseous and solid materials (inert or reactive) to localized rapid power deposition. Theoretical, analytical and numerical methods are developed to find general properties of nonlinear equation systems and explicit solutions for specific initial-boundary value problems. Emphasis is placed on physical interpretation of mathematical results for the transient evolution of spatially distributed thermal and gasdynamic responses. New results are given for thermal explosion processes, for transient development of shocks and detonations, for the role of nonlinear acoustics in gascompression and for thermoacoustically induced mass transfer.

THE book was written as a textbook for University Faculties of Mathematics, in a special course of Mathematical analysis . Problems in the theory of functions of a real variable, the calculus of variations and integral equations are treated here from the single viewpoint of the theory of linear spaces. The reader requires a grasp of a general course of mathematical analysis as covered in a degree course.  THIS book has been written as a textbook for a special course of mathematical analysis (in brief, “ Analysis III ”). “ Analysis III ” is delivered as the third course of the mechanics—mathematics faculty of the Moscow State University, and dates from 1949; the introduction of such a course was initiated by academician A. N. Kolmogorov, who was the first lecturer. “ AnalysisIII” is based on material from earlier separate courses on the theory of functions of a real variable, the calculus of variations and integral equations, and treats all this material from a single viewpoint which has its source in the theory of linear spaces.   The layout of the book is according to the following scheme. The first chapter gives a straightforward minimal account of set theory. The second chapter contains elements of the theory of metric and normed linear spaces. In the third chapter the calculus of variations is developed; it is presented here as a theory of differentiable functionals in normed linear spaces. The fourth chapter is devoted to the theory of the Lebesgue integral; the scheme given by F. Riesz is thought to be a better starting-point for the account than that of Lebesgue, inasmuch as it is more economical and leads more rapidly to the heart of the subject. The fifth chapter, “The Geometry of Hilbert Space” contains the theory of orthogonal resolutions and a geometrical treatment of integral equations. In the sixth chapter the relation between integration and differentiation is explained and the Stieltjes integral is constructed. In the seventh and last chapter an account is given of the theory of the Fourier Transform; we depart from tradition here in including some material, which, in View of its special importance in mathematical physics, should long ago have had a place in a course of mathematical analysis. The choice of material generally, and in particular for the last chapters, presented the author with great difficulties. Some interesting but somewhat digressional questions have been set as problems; they can be used as material for seminars.   The reader needs to be acquainted with a general course of mathematical analysis, such as “ A short course” by A. Ya. Klinchin for example. The book can then be used for an independent study of the subject. This article is from BMC Genomics , volume 13 . Abstract Background: About 6 million Americans suffer from heart failure and 70% of heart failure cases are caused by myocardial infarction (MI). Following myocardial infarction, increased cytokines induce two major types of macrophages: classically activated macrophages which contribute to extracellular matrix destruction and alternatively activated macrophages which contribute to extracellular matrix construction. Though experimental results have shown the transitions between these two types of macrophages, little is known about the dynamic progression of macrophages activation. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze macrophage activation patterns post-MI. Results: We have collected experimental data from adult C57 mice and built a framework to represent the regulatory relationships among cytokines and macrophages. A set of differential equations were established to characterize the regulatory relationships for macrophage activation in the left ventricle post-MI based on the physical chemistry laws. We further validated the mathematical model by comparing our computational results with experimental results reported in the literature. By applying Lyaponuv stability analysis, the established mathematical model demonstrated global stability in homeostasis situation and bounded response to myocardial infarction. Conclusions: We have established and validated a mathematical model for macrophage activation post-MI. The stability analysis provided a possible strategy to intervene the balance of classically and alternatively activated macrophages in this study. The results will lay a strong foundation to understand the mechanisms of left ventricular remodelling post-MI.

MANA (Map Aware, Non-uniform, Automata) is an agent-based, time-stepped, stochastic mission-level modeling environment developed by the New Zealand Defense Technology Agency (DTA). While the MANA user manual goes into detail about setting up a scenario and navigating the user interface, it does not discuss some of the underlying mathematical procedures and algorithms resulting in many individuals utilizing MANA to analyze military operations without necessarily understanding how the results are achieved. The purpose of this thesis is to explore the mathematical formulas that MANA utilizes in an effort to aid in creating a more informed understanding of results reached by MANA. This work is intended as a supplement to the current MANA user manual. We will investigate how manipulating the parameters of the squads’ influence behavior on the battlefield. The format will follow a militarily oriented thought process of shoot, move and communicate, investigating mathematically how results are reached within the model. At the conclusion, there will be recommendations as to follow-up work.

I have found that there is a wealth of research on the relationship between developmental reading disorders and mathematical academic achievement, but the conclusions of these studies are inconsistent. In this article, we formulated a mathematical model for the spread of the  COVID-19 disease and we  introduced  quarantined  and  isolated compartments. The next generation matrix method was adopted to compute the basic reproduction number  in order to assess the transmission dynamics of the COVID-19 deadly disease. Stability analysis of the disease free equilibrium is investigated based on the basic reproduction number and the result shows that it is locally and asymptotically stable for  less than 1. Numerical calculation of the basic reproduction number revealed that  which means that the disease can be eradicated from Nigeria. The study shows that isolation, quarantine and other government policies like social distancing and lockdown are the best approaches to control the pernicious nature of  COVID-19 pandemic.
