In 2016, a paper was published that claimed to have invented a new molecular tool that allowed scientists to control neuronal activity with magnetic fields. Then a bunch of labs tried to use the tool...and things went sideways. Three Matters Arising in Sept, 2019!! I am going to look at the original paper and one of the Matters Arising articles from the same university! FYI there were a total of THREE Matters Arising articles released this month in response to the 2016 article, including a rebuttal from the original group. Much to sort out here. It's not that I don't believe the paper, but rather that developing and sharing these state-of-the-art techniques is difficult...and a work ongoing. These are designed to fit the 5mmx2mm round magnets. They are about 2" tall (42.59mm) . At their current size they should fit the magnets perfectly (it might be a bit of a tight fit, but you shouldn't need to adjust the size for it). They are separated into groups so I could print them in 5 different colors, but I will work on getting the individual letters uploaded here. Print without supports

Found when printing ludicrous speed it vibrates away. I made it to hold 6x3 mm magnets by the shoot to say connected.

I found the Last lock a while ago and tried it, the magnets kept falling off the frame so I modified the original design in a way that it doesn't need the groove all the way through, this way the magnet won't come off unless you want it to. I also made the 2x2 versions use less magnets as I didn't find any reason to use 3 on each side for a 2x2 I've made a 3x3 and a 2x2 version, I'll make more as I find use for them, so Updates won't be frequent. I didn't add any supports so there's a few points where it will sag a little bit on the top portion but it does not affect the functionality of the tile once you cut those off with a hobby knife. I have not tested this version with openlock since I'm only interested in the magnetic capabilities of this design.

This article is from Sensors (Basel, Switzerland) , volume 14 . Abstract This work analyses the effects of segmentation followed by parallel magnetization of ring-shaped NdFeB permanent magnets used in slotless cylindrical linear actuators. The main purpose of the work is to evaluate the effects of that segmentation on the performance of the actuator and to present a general overview of the influence of parallel magnetization by varying the number of segments and comparing the results with ideal radially magnetized rings. The analysis is first performed by modelling mathematically the radial and circumferential components of magnetization for both radial and parallel magnetizations, followed by an analysis carried out by means of the 3D finite element method. Results obtained from the models are validated by measuring radial and tangential components of magnetic flux distribution in the air gap on a prototype which employs magnet rings with eight segments each with parallel magnetization. The axial force produced by the actuator was also measured and compared with the results obtained from numerical models. Although this analysis focused on a specific topology of cylindrical actuator, the observed effects on the topology could be extended to others in which surface-mounted permanent magnets are employed, including rotating electrical machines.

We couldn't get the original guide's magnets as easily so we redesigned the doors stop and handles to be able to be used with four d6x4mm magnets. Hope it helps! this is a really simple support for magnet to make a door lock. magnet size : 1cm in diameter and up to 4mm in thickness. On part need to be glued on the door, the other inside the closet. More info on this video : https://youtu.be/GEbocCc-_cY

I designed & tested this deadlift wedge that has magnets on the back so you can store it on your rack. I've made about 8 of these so far and they're incredibly durable. They've been through a few weeks of workouts thus far and no issues. Here's a video of this project (and a bench press block) if you want to see them in action. https://youtu.be/q1BSa--iIxg I use magnets glued in holes on the bottom so you can store it by just placing it anywhere on your rack. You may have to use a 5/16" or so drill bit to ream the magnet holes slightly larger if your printer isn't perfect. Just spin it with your fingers if the magnet is too tight of a fit and glue them in with super glue for extra security. A final note, this was drawn in inches so you may have to scale up depending on your slicer. The magnets I used are 8x3 and I got them from Amazon. https://amzn.to/2M7JAI1 I printed with ABS for its impact resistance, in a gym it's going to get beat up a little. All of my prints were 2mm thick walls and 30% which held up incredibly well. Layer height is up to you but you do have a position the print at an angle to make it fit in a Ultimaker or standard 200^3 print volume printer. I suppose it could be scaled slightly if it won't fit for you (or maybe I'll make a smaller version if people want one)

I found Lawsy's design fantastic, but I only had 1/2" magnets on hand, this should be a redesign to accept them. That being said, I haven't had a chance to print it yet.
