This is the third experiment examining GDPP impulse control training. This is the follow-up experiment of GDPP Impulse Control Training: Experiment 2 (https://osf.io/3ym54/), with the aim of replicating the core findings related to the main hypotheses. In addition, we added a qualitative component in which we will explore themes in training experience, training effectiveness, and barriers for training effectiveness through semi-structured interviews. Our study is a replication of a previous study with a preregistered protocol: https://osf.io/z293k. Although our preregistration of this study was not yet online prior to analysis, we followed the same analysis plan as in the original study. The only adjustments we made were to (1) adjust the condition levels from three to two levels and (2) omit the associated hypotheses that specifically related to the third condition. The original study included an additional condition, but in this replication, we focus only on replicating the main effects.

The Solar Impulse aircraft's round-the-world mission's on hold until 2016. The plane -- which's flying solely on the power of the sun -- was grounded during the LAST LEG of its journey because've damaged batteries. Pilot Bertand Pic- ar(soft)d says he and his team didn't want to take any risks. It was on its way to Hawaii from Japan when the trip was postponed. Test flights'll likely take place next year .... and once that happens, its final leg'll be flying to U-S's West Coast.

A solar-powered plane's landed in Hawaii, breaking two world records. The Solar Impulse Two was flying for FIVE DAYS NON-STOP from Japan.... The four thousand mile trip's the world's longest solar-powered flight by time and distance, AND the longest solo flight by time. The pilot's only been able to sleep during occasional twenty minute naps. The trip from Japan to Hawaii was the eighth of thirteen. They started in Abu Dhabi back in March. Two pilots have been switching off on each flight. But this leg of the journey was especially dangerous..... The other flights have been over land in Asia, but this one was over the ocean--- so there was no place to land if something went wrong. The flight earlier broke the record for longest non-stop solo flight without refueling. Now they're headed to the mainland U-S. After that, they'll take two final flights back to Abu Dhabi.

Impulse Nine is entirely done by me, Steve McMackin: writing, performance, recording, mixing, mastering, graphic design, web design and so on. I first started writing music in 1997, but didn't finish my first album (Girl) until 1999, and while I still like the songs it was poorly performed and recorded. Ultraviolet , which I finished in 2001, was a more mature album in many ways but still was not quite 'professional' quality. It is my hope that with Exhaust and its forthcoming sister album, Ignition, that I can say that I have reached an acceptable level of workmanship. I hope you agree. I recieved a minor in Music Composition with my B.A. in Graphic Design at the University of Arizona. While I hope that my music will one day be my way of living and paying bills, it has long been something that I do because I love to do it.

I designed this fairing adapter for an ImpulseRC Helix 6" Frame to be able to use the KISS24A ESCs. I upload two Versions of it. One is made to be printed in solid materials like ABS,PLA and so on. The other one is designed to be printed in flexible materials like TPU. Please don't forget to print the "standoffs" out of solid material if you want to use the the flex version. I highly recommend you to print and use the flex version! There is still a chance that the solid one can break. For the "solid" Version I am still looking for feedback because i added the pocket for the LED after my first build with the adapters, mine are glued in with double sided tape. So let me know if something doesn't work. I used sandpaper to sand the LED's down to 9mm around one axis, otherwise they wont fit. I will attach a picture to show you where to sand(check if you have a short afterwards). I soldered two of the LED's in parallel to the corresponding pads. Both left arms togheter and both right arms. Make sure you use long enough wires especially for the back ones. Please post pictures of you print in the Helix Thread on RCGroups or on Facebook. This article is from PLoS ONE , volume 9 . Abstract Background: A key limitation of conventional ultrasound (US) includes poor differentiation of benign from malignant thyroid nodules. Contrast-enhanced US (CEUS) and acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) could provide better characterization of focal thyroid nodules; however, no studies have compared their efficacies. Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of conventional US,CEUS, ARFI, and their combined use in differentiating focal solid thyroid nodules. Methods: One-hundred-forty-six Chinese patients with 175 thyroid nodules (119 benign and 56 malignant) were prospectively enrolled. Each patients underwent conventional US, CEUS and ARFI, respectively. The diagnostic performance of the conventional US, CEUS, ARFI, combined use of either CEUS or ARFI and combined use of the three modalities were assessed and compared using Pathological diagnosis (histological/cytological) as the reference method. Results: There were no significant differences between individual groups (CEUS vs US, P = 0.279, ARFI vs US, P = 0.372, CEUS vs ARFI, P = 0.849), combined use of US and CEUS or combined use of US and ARFI yielded significant difference compared to US. (combination of US & CEUS vs US, P = 0.021; combination of US & ARFI vs US, P = 0.036). The combination of three modalities significantly improved the diagnostic accuracy compared with either combination of conventional US and CEUS or combination of conventional US and ARFI (P = 0.045 and P  = 0.027, respectively). Conclusions: CEUS and ARFI can be used as an additional tool in the diagnostic work up of thyroid nodules. The combination of CEUS with ARFI can significantly improve the diagnostic accuracy.

Impulse Tracker  simply rocked. For its time, it was revolutionary: 64 channels, 99 samples, REAL stereo support on the Sound Blaster (instead of just hard-left and hard-right), disk rendering, and a whole slew of other completely awesome features that made Scream Tracker obsolete, and dealt a low blow to Fast Tracker as well. Of course the die-hard FT2 users didn't switch over anyway because Impulse Tracker had a totally different user interface... and what fool would want to learn a completely new interface after internalizing all the subtle nuances of the one they have? Unfortunately, since IT was written for MS-DOS — and in 100% assembly language, no less — as time passed it gradually became more and more difficult to coerce it to run on new computers, and practically impossible to use on non-Windows computers. Windows-based trackers gradually started emerging (the best known being  Modplug ), and eventually a handful of cross-platform trackers showed up as well, but none of these had the same look and feel that IT diehards had come to know and love. Sure, they could switch to something else... but what fool would want to learn a completely new interface after internalizing all the subtle nuances of the one they have?

Recent studies of xenon Hall thrusters have shown peak efficiencies at specific impulses of less than 3000 s. This was a consequence of modern Hall thruster magnetic field topographies, which have been optimized for 300 V discharges. On-going research at the NASA Glenn Research Center is investigating this behavior and methods to enhance thruster performance. To conduct these studies, a laboratory model Hall thruster that uses a pair of trim coils to tailor the magnetic field topography for high specific impulse operation has been developed. The thruster-the NASA-173Mv2 was tested to determine how current density and magnetic field topography affect performance, divergence, and plasma oscillations at voltages up to 1000 V. Test results showed there was a minimum current density and optimum magnetic field topography at which efficiency monotonically increased with voltage. At 1000 V, 10 milligrams per second the total specific impulse was 3390 s and the total efficiency was 60.8%. Plume divergence decreased at 400-1000 V, but increased at 300-400 V as the result of plasma oscillations. The dominant oscillation frequency steadily increased with voltage, from 14.5 kHz at 300 V, to 22 kHz at 1000 V. An additional oscillatory mode in the 80-90 kHz frequency range began to appear above 500 V. The use of trim coils to modify the magnetic field improved performance while decreasing plume divergence and the frequency and magnitude of plasma oscillations.

The thruster was operated at a constant xenon flow rate of 10 milligrams per second and discharge voltages of 300 to 900 V. The ExB probe was placed two meters downstream of the thruster exit plane on the thruster centerline. At a discharge voltage of 300 V, the species fractions of Xe(2+) and Xe(3+) were lower, but still consistent with, previous Hall thruster studies using other mass analyzers. Over discharge voltages of 300 to 900 V, the Xe(2+) species fractions increased from 0.04 to 0.12 and the Xe(3+) species fraction increased from 0.01 to 0.02.

This thesis investigates the synthesis of smoothed impulse responses using sampled data of the input and output of random noise driven electromagnetic systems. Special interactive software was developed for NPS's time domain electromagnetic scattering laboratory. The system performs signal acquisition, synthesizes time and frequency domain scattering responses using broad band random noise and provides results as easily evaluated graphic displays. Attempted validations of the system are made by comparing synthesized impulse responses for microwave filters and transient scatterers to alternate experimental and computational data.
