Concept of exponential family is generalized by simple and general exponential form. Simple and general potential are introduced. Maximum Entropy and Maximum Likelihood tasks are defined. ML task on the simple exponential form and ME task on the simple potentials are proved to be complementary in set-up and identical in solutions. ML task on the general exponential form and ME task on the general potentials are weakly complementary, leading to the same necessary conditions. A hypothesis about complementarity of ML and MiniMax Entropy tasks and identity of their solutions, brought up by a special case analytical as well as several numerical investigations, is suggested in this case. MiniMax Ent can be viewed as a generalization of MaxEnt for parametric linear inverse problems, and its complementarity with ML as yet another argument in favor of Shannon's entropy criterion.

We construct an analytic solution for tachyon condensation around identity-based marginal solutions in Berkovits' WZW-like open superstring field theory. Using this, which is a kind of wedge-based solution, the gauge invariant overlaps for the identity-based marginal solutions can be calculated analytically. This is a straightforward extension of a method in bosonic string field theory, which has been elaborated by the authors, to superstring. We also comment on a gauge equivalence relation between the tachyon vacuum solution and its marginally deformed one. From this viewpoint, we can find the vacuum energy of the identity-based marginal solutions to be zero, which agrees with the previous result as a consequence of $\xi$ zero mode counting.

We explore the vacuum structure in bosonic open string field theory expanded around an identity-based solution parameterized by $a(>=-1/2)$. Analyzing the expanded theory using level truncation approximation up to level 20, we find that the theory has the tachyon vacuum solution for $a>-1/2$. We also find that, at $a=-1/2$, there exists an unstable vacuum solution in the expanded theory and the solution is expected to be the perturbative open string vacuum. These results reasonably support the expectation that the identity-based solution is a trivial pure gauge configuration for $a>-1/2$, but it can be regarded as the tachyon vacuum solution at $a=-1/2$.

We show that the well known identity for the Wronskian of squared solutions of a Sturm-Liouville equation follows from the Fay identity. We also study some odd-order (($2^n -1$)-order, $ n = 2, 3, ...$) identities which are specific for tau functions, related to the KdV hierarchy.

We consider a modified KBc algebra in bosonic open string field theory expanded around identity-based scalar solutions. By use of the algebra, classical solutions on the background are constructed and observables for them, including energy densities and gauge invariant overlaps, are calculable. These results are applied to evaluate observables analytically for both of the identity-based trivial pure gauge solution and the identity-based tachyon vacuum solution.

We analyze the consistency of the recently proposed regularization of an identity based solution in open bosonic string field theory. We show that the equation of motion is satisfied when it is contracted with the regularized solution itself. Additionally, we propose a similar regularization of an identity based solution in the modified cubic superstring field theory.

Research indicates that Black children with darker complexions experience more difficulty being accepted by Whites and their Black peers; and they are believed to be less intelligent than White and lighter complexion Black students. It also reveals that the innocence young children have regarding differences between themselves and others do not last long. Too often, children of color learn that others do not embrace their race, complexion, and/or cognitive abilities. These encounters can cause many darker complexion African-American children to feel inadequate and incapable of meeting social and academic standards. This case study examined the life events of Celise, an unidentified gifted Black female, through the lens of Cross' racial identity model (Cross, 1991; Vandiver & Cross, 2001) and deficit thinking (Valencia, 2010). Personal and elementary school events by her mother are discussed, and suggestions for educators of gifted Black female students are shared.

We evaluate the vacuum energy of regularized identity based solutions through level truncation computations in open bosonic string field theory. We show that the level truncated solutions bring a value of the vacuum energy expected for the tachyon vacuum in agreement with Sen's first conjecture.

We construct a class of nilpotent operators using the BRST current and ghost fields in superstring theory. The operator can be realized in cubic superstring field theory as a kinetic operator in the background of an identity-based solution. For a particular type of the deformed BRST operators, we find a homotopy operator and discuss its relationship to the cohomology in a similar way to the bosonic case, which has been elaborated by the authors.

Also we find that, at $a$=-1/2, there exists an unstable vacuum solution in the expanded theory and it rapidly becomes the trivial zero configuration just above $a$=-1/2. The numerical behavior of the two gauge invariants suggests that the unstable solution corresponds to the perturbative open string vacuum. These results reasonably support the expectation that the identity based solution is a trivial pure gauge configuration for $a$>-1/2, but it can be regarded as the tachyon vacuum solution at $a$=-1/2.
