1Two College Friends

This is a story of two college friends, Ned and Tom, who first meet at their Harvard professor's office. They embark upon a romantic friendship, but are estranged when one begins to court a girl. The Civil War interrupts their lives and college education, and they both enlist with their local regiment, being deployed to a hot area. The author, Mr. Loring, was killed, at the age of 22, in an Apache ambush that came to be known as the Wickenburg Massacre.
