On the way, its axle box dropped and caused the wheels of a bogie to come off the running rail and hit track equipment. This caused fractures along 1.6km of rail, and damaged three point machines, and the third rail. Without the point machines, trains cannot be diverted onto other tracks, affecting train services on both bounds.
