All flight attendants and pilots working for SAS have to go on a flight attendant training school every year. At the flight attendant training school both flight attendants and pilots are trained in handling specific situations onboard the aircraft, such as emergency landing and errors in cabin pressure. When training those exact situations, a so called mock-up is used, which has an aircraft interior very similar to a real one. Inside the mock-up, sounds and smoke effects can be added, so the training session gets more realistic to the flight attendants and pilots. When training the specific situations, flight attendants and pilots don’t know what is going to happen.
