This study used the Theil-Sen trend analysis, Mann-Kendall trend test, coefficient of variation, Hurst index, and machine learning method (eXtreme Gradient Boosting and SHapley Additive exPlanations (XGBoost-SHAP)) to analyze the spatiotemporal variation of NPP in the GPUA from 2001 to 2020 and reveal its response to climate change and human activities. The results found that during 2001–2020, the averageNPP in the GPUA showed a significant upward trend, with an annual growth rate of 10.84 g C/(m2•a). The multi-year average NPP in the GPUA was 484.83 g C/(m2•a), with higher values in the southwestern Qinling Mountains and lower values in the central and northeastern cropland and built-up areas. The average coefficient of variation of NPP in the GPUA was 0.14, indicating a relatively stable state overall, but 72.72% of the study area showed weak anti-persistence, suggesting that NPP in most areas may have declined in the short term. According to XGBoost-SHAP analyses, elevation, land use type and precipitation were identified as the main driving factors of NPP. Appropriate precipitation and higher temperatures promote NPP growth, whereas extreme climates, high population density, and nighttime lighting inhibit NPP. With computer technology permeating the academic landscape, and the Net Generation dominating the academic scene, educators are called to reflect on and reconfigure curriculum design, facilitation, and evaluation to align with the e-learning era and learners' orientations and preferences. The purpose of this article is to present research findings about the transitioning experiences of the Net Generation in the college system as they move from traditional classroom training to laptop-facilitated learning, and to discuss implications for practice. Proposed is an e-learning transition model designed to help educators integrate laptop-based learning into the curriculum architecture. (Contains 1 figure.)

Herein, we analyzed and discussed the spatial-temporal change patterns and the driving mechanisms of net primary productivity (NPP) in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau from 2000 to 2015 based on the gravity center and correlation coefficient models. Subsequently, we quantitatively distinguished the relative effects of climate change (such as precipitation, temperature and evapotranspiration) and human activities (such as grazing and ecological construction) on the NPP changes using scenario analysis and Miami model based on the MOD17A3 and meteorological data. The average annual NPP in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau showed a decreasing trend from the southeast to the northwest during 2000–2015. With respect to the inter-annual changes, the average annual NPP exhibited a fluctuating upward trend from 2000 to 2015, with a steep increase observed in 2005 and a high fluctuation observed from 2005 to 2015. In the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, the regions with the increase in NPP (change rate higher than 10%) were mainly concentrated in the Three-River Source Region, the northern Hengduan Mountains, the middle and lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, and the eastern parts of the North Tibet Plateau, whereas the regions with the decrease in NPP (change rate lower than –10%) were mainly concentrated in the upper reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River and the Ali Plateau. The gravity center of NPP in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau has moved southwestward during 2000–2015, indicating that the increment and growth rate of NPP in the southwestern part is greater than those of NPP in the northeastern part.Further, a significant correlation was observed between NPP and climate factors in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau. The regions exhibiting a significant correlation between NPP and precipitation were mainly located in the central and eastern Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, and the regions exhibiting a significant correlation between NPP and temperature were mainly located in the southern and eastern Qinghai–Tibet Plateau. Furthermore, the relative effects of climate change and human activities on the NPP changes in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau exhibited significant spatial differences in three types of zones, i.e., the climate change-dominant zone, the human activity-dominant zone, and the climate change and human activity interaction zone. These research results can provide theoretical and methodological supports to reveal the driving mechanisms of the regional ecosystems to the global change in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau. This article is from Malaria Journal , volume 11 . Abstract Background: The current target of universal access to long-lasting, insecticide-treated nets (LLIN) is 80% coverage to reduce malaria deaths by 75% by 2015. So far, campaigns have been the main channel for large-scale delivery of LLINs, however the World Health Organization has recommended that equal priority should be given to delivery via routine antenatal care (ANC) and immunization systems (EPI) to target pregnant women and children from birth. These various channels of LLIN delivery are targeted to children of different ages. Since risk of mortality varies with child age and LLIN effectiveness declines with net age, it was hypothesized that the age at which a child receives a new LLIN, and therefore the delivery channel, is important in optimizing the health impact of a net. Methods: A simple dynamic mathematical model was developed of delivery and impact of LLINs among children under five years of age and their household members, incorporating data on age-specific malaria death rates, net use by household structure, and net efficacy over time. Results: The presented analysis finds that supplementing a universal mass campaign with extra ANC delivery would achieve a 1.4 times higher mortality reduction than campaign delivery alone, reflecting that children born in the years between campaigns would otherwise have access to old nets or no nets at an age of high risk. The relative advantage of supplementary ANC delivery is still present though smaller if malaria transmission levels are lower or if there is a strong mass effect achieved by mass campaigns. Conclusion: These results indicate that LLIN delivery policies must take into account the age of greatest malaria risk. Emphasis should be placed on supporting routine delivery of LLINs to young children as well as campaigns.

NeighborMedia presents a panel discussion: From the Net to Your Neighborhood: Using the Web to Connect Your Community and Encourage Civic Engagement. April 13, 2010 at Cambridge Community Television. Whether you want to raise awareness about an important local issue or gather people for a community event, you can make use of web tools that are inexpensive and often easy to use, to organize those in your community. We'll cover strategic uses of blogging, web video, social networking, web sites, and more. Come learn how six Cambridge individuals have used these tools for positive change in their communities and organizations, and how you can too! The discussion will feature presentations from the panelists about their current projects, and their best practices and tips for using web/new media tools. After the presentations, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions. This event will be taped by CCTV and televised live on Channel 10, and will also be shown at a later date. Although food insecurity is common among college students, they face significant barriers in accessing food assistance through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Despite being a proven program designed to ameliorate food insecurity, eligibility requirements and student-specific restrictions have prevented many eligible students from receiving critical benefits. This brief provides an overview of the student-specific exemptions and highlights the need for simplifying SNAP eligibility requirements to ensure that all students have access to the food they need to thrive.

Impacts of extreme climate and vegetation phenology on net primary productivity across the Qinghai- Xizang Plateau, China from 1982 to 2020 后印本 作者： SUN Huaizhang 作者单位： 1. However, in the context of the increasing frequency, intensity, and duration of global extreme climate events, the impacts of extreme climate and vegetation phenology on NPP are still unclear, especially on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau (QXP), China. In this study, we used a new data fusion method based on the MOD13A2 normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and the Global Inventory Modeling and Mapping Studies (GIMMS) NDVI3g datasets to obtain a NDVI dataset (1982–2020) on the QXP. Then, we developed a NPP dataset across the QXP using the Carnegie-Ames-Stanford Approach (CASA) model and validated its applicability based on gauged NPP data. Subsequently, we calculated 18 extreme climate indices based on the CN05.1 dataset, and extracted the length of vegetation growing season using the threshold method and double logistic model based on the annual NDVI time series. Finally, we explored the spatiotemporal patterns of NPP on the QXP and the impact mechanisms of extreme climate and the length of vegetation growing season on NPP. The results indicated that the estimated NPP exhibited good applicability. Specifically, the correlation coefficient, relative bias, mean error, and root mean square error between the estimated NPP and gauged NPP were 0.76, 0.17, 52.89 g C/(m2•a), and 217.52 g C/(m2•a), respectively. The NPP of alpine meadow, alpine steppe, forest, and main ecosystem on the QXP mainly exhibited an increasing trend during 1982–2020, with rates of 0.35, 0.38, 1.40, and 0.48 g C/(m2•a), respectively. Spatially, the NPP gradually decreased from southeast to northwest across the QXP. Extreme climate had greater impact on NPP than the length of vegetation growing season on the QXP. Specifically, the increase in extremely-wet-day precipitation (R99p), simple daily intensity index (SDII), and hottest day (TXx) increased the NPP in different ecosystems across the QXP, while the increases in the cold spell duration index (CSDI) and warm spell duration index (WSDI) decreased the NPP in these ecosystems. A separated net is a set of points which is relatively dense and uniformly discrete (another name for a Delone set). We are dealing with tilings and separated nets in Euclidean spaces and with the question whether a given separated net is biLipschitz to the integer lattice. In this paper we show, as an answer to a question of Burago and Kleiner, that the net that is obtained form the Penrose tiling is biLipschitz to the integer lattice.
