This paper proposes an on-line two phase fault diagnosis algorithm for arbitrary connected networks. The algorithm addresses a realistic fault model considering crash and value faults in the nodes. Fault diagnosis is achieved by comparing the heartbeat message generated by neighboring nodes and dissemination of decision made at each node. Theoretical analysis shows that time and message complexity of the diagnosis scheme is O(n) for a n-node network. The message and time complexity are comparable to the existing state of art approaches and thus well suited for design of different fault tolerant wireless communication networks..

This work aims to design an automated and effective fault identification and position system for all overhead power transmission network networks using all current fault indicator technologies, machine learning methods, and commercially tested communication technology to easily and reliably pin a transmission system's flawed point parts. Smart transmission lines have played a decisive role in developing human protection and preventing current wastage. The transmission line is opened and the state of the line is evaluated, and the information goes to electrical board (EB) office. The system monitors the data by sending the alert message to the person responsible for the GPS location, either via SMS or BUZZER, or by displaying the alert message lives. Transmission line distribution is broad and most of them are spread around the geographical environment.

This paper tackled the method for determining the number of Peterson coil which is can compensate with the capacitance because it is important in determining the state of parallel resonance, which in turn control the ground fault current and make the approximate value of the current equal to the current in the sound phases. In this way, we can protect the electrical devices and equipment from being damaged by residual current resulting from the arc due to ground fault, which increases the temperature of conductors which are to a breakdown of insulators and damaging them. Ground fault current equals three times the actual current, and its effect depends on two types of variables which are the first: the number of Peterson coils (which specify the inductance value and compensated) and second: the period time of extinguishing electric are in the ground fault. we obtain, by experimental in the lab where it using the servo motor to control the number of Peterson coils which in turn specify the variable and invariable inductance. We have obtained optimal results for the value of ground-fault current, detect the ground fault and treat it without effect of network load and without power cut off for consumer.

An appropriate fault detection and classification of power system transmission line using discrete wavelet transform and artificial neural networks is performed in this paper. The analysis is carried out by applying discrete wavelet transform for obtained fault phase currents. The work represented in this paper are mainly concentrated on classification of fault and this classification is done based on the obtained energy values after applying discrete wavelet transform by taking this values as an input for the neural network. The proposed system and analysis is carried out in Matlab Simulink.

Simulations has been carried out in MATLAB/Simulink and a variety of fault has been imposed in order to analyse the capability and accuracy of the fault location detection algorithm. Results obtained portrayed that both algorithms provide good performance in estimating the fault location. However, the maximum percentage error produced by the Discrete Wavelet Transform is only 0.25%, 0.6% lower than maximum error produces by Fast Fourier Transform algorithm. As a conclusion, Discrete Wavelet Transform possesses better capability to estimate fault location as compared to Fast Fourier Transform algorithm.

Field reconnaissance has indicated the existence of previously unreported faults cutting bedrock along range fronts, and displacing Tertiary and Quaternary basin sediments. Gravity data support the interpretation of regional structural discontinuity along this zone. Individual fault traces within the Pahrump Fault Zone form generally left-stepping en echelon patterns. These fault patterns, the apparent offset of a Laramide age thrust fault, and possible drag folding along a major fault break suggest a component of right lateral displacement. The trend and postulated movement of the Pahrump Fault Zone are similar to the adjacent Las Vegas Shear Zone and Death Valley-Furnace Creek Faults, which are parts of a regional strike slip system in the southern Basin-Range Province.

Accurate fault classification and precise fault distance estimation play a critical role in reliable, stable and optimal operation of electrical power systems. Especially Dual Circuit Extra High Voltage Transmission Line (DCEHVTL) fault diagnosis is a challenging task using conventional algorithms. Early fault recognition is crucial for DCEHVTL performance. Due to its effectiveness in classification and forecasting, the interpretable Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System (MFIS) is more suitable. Haar wavelet is efficient in any signal behavior evaluation. Therefore, this paper proposed a robust and intelligent Fuzzy Inference System Professional (FisPro) based interpretable MFIS with Haar wavelets transform for fault classification and fault distance estimation in DCEHVTL using single-side data. The dual circuit three-phase currents of two cycles are recorded from DCEHVTL. Haar wavelet transforms are utilized to estimate the behaviour and characteristics of the current signals in terms of high-frequency components. The captured fault currents from the DCEHVTL single side are used as inputs for the hierarchical MFIS framework. Here, the fault classification is followed by the faulty distance estimation in MFIS. The test results support the MFIS consistency under extensive changes in fault factors. Moreover, the extensive performance comparison study with the state of art fault diagnosis methods reiterates the FisPro based MFIS effectiveness in successful fault diagnosis. The obtained results indicate that MFIS has a fast processing time (in 1ms), high accuracy (above 99.8%), less fault location error (Within 0.0024%) and is useful for studying the system stability in the electricity field. The MFIS is proven to be successful for the fault diagnosis without any communication channel between the source and receiving end.

Compared with commonly used schemes involving dedicated devices or complicated techniques, a convenient approach for breakdown locating based on transmission line (TL) theory offers advantages in the typical constant-gradient TW-accelerating structure. To deliver such an approach, an equivalent TL model has been constructed to equate the TW-accelerating structure based on the fundamental theory of the TL transient response in the time domain. An equivalence relationship between the TW-accelerating structure and the TL model has been established via analytical derivations associated with grid charts and verified by TL circuit simulations. Furthermore, to validate the proposed fault-locating method in practical applications, an elaborate analysis via such a method has been conducted for the recoverable RF-breakdown phenomena observed at an existing prototype of a TW-accelerating-structure-based beam injector constructed at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In addition, further considerations and discussion for extending the applications of the proposed method have been given. This breakdown-locating approach involving the transient response in the framework of TL theory can be a conceivable supplement to existing methods, facilitating solution to construction problems at an affordable cost. Various operational and fault circumstances on the transmission of high voltage lines, including L-L fault, single phase to earth fault, and double line fault, double line Three fault scenarios triple line fault, triple line to ground fault, and triple line are simulated using MATLAB software. These flaws damage the linked devices to the power grid. The main motto of this work is to analyze various kinds of faults and also to detect the type of the fault in transmission line. In order to simulate and evaluate the various faults, a 100 km transmission line model was created. A sim power system block library had a fault block, and the harmonic content of the various faults was studied using the FFT tool, the effect of faults was observed. Based on the analysis, a hardware model is designed to identify the faults in transmission line using actuating relays and Atmega 328P microcontroller and display the fault type and parameters like fault impedance, and distance at which fault occurred.

This results in increased functional density and reduced power consumption - features very important in many domains, such as space missions or mobile devices. Field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) featuring incremental dynamic runtime reconfiguration (RTR) offer additional benefits by allowing the system to continue to execute uninterrupted, while portions of the FPGA are reconfigured for new logic functions. ACS are often deployed in harsh and/or hostile remote environments, and they are subject to strict high-reliability and high-availability requirements. Cosmic radiation may perturb the operation of a defect-free FPGA, and marginal defects not causing failures in manufacturing testing (such as a short initially having very high resistance) may become active with the aging of the device, or because of environmental factors. Since direct human intervention for maintenance and repair is impossible in such environments, fault-tolerant (FT) techniques resulting in graceful degradation must be used to achieve the desired mission life even in the presence of faults. However, traditional FT design, based on replicated modular redundancy and voting, is extremely expensive given the space, weight, and power constraints of ACS.
