A guide for achieving effective two-way communication is presented. Its scope includes the following: (1) a discussion of the importance of effective two-way communication, (2) an examination of the ways in which communication works and some of the reasons for its failure, (3) an examination of the role of the supervisor as a key figure in communication, and (4) a discussion of ways of improving supervisors' skill in communication.
