The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) Español Latino. En 1815, "Edmundo Dantés", segundo oficial a bordo de un barco mercante francés llamado ´Faraón´, y su amigo Fernando Mondego, un representante de la compañía naviera, se dirigen a la  Isla de Elba  a buscar atención médica para su capitán, Pierre Renaud, enfermo de una  fiebre cerebral . Al llegar a tierra firme, Dantés y Mondego son perseguidos por los  dragones ingleses , que creen que son espías del exiliado emperador francés  Napoleón Bonaparte . Napoleón, quien lleva 1 año en la isla, declara rápidamente que no son sus agentes, proporciona la ayuda médica a Renaud, pero a cambio le pide a Dantés entregar una carta a un 'amigo' suyo en  Francia . Mondego ve a Napoleón entregar la carta, pero, al preguntarle a Dantés, a pedido del emperador, este le dice que no ha recibido nada. Después de que el capitán Renaud muere, se marchan de Elba. A su regreso a su hogar en  Marsella , Dantés es reprendido por el primer oficial de la nave, Phillipe Danglars, por desobedecer sus órdenes de no ir a la isla, sin embargo, el jefe de la compañía naviera, Maximilian Morrell, elogia la valentía de Dantés, promoviéndolo a capitán del navío ´Faraón´, pese a la molestia de Danglars. Mondego se encuentra con la prometida de Edmundo, Mercedes Herrera, de la cual esta enamorado y trata de seducirla, pero, cuando se entera de la promoción de Dantés como capitán, Mondego se da cuenta de que Dantés podrá casarse con Mercedes antes de lo esperado. Mientras tanto, Edmundo y Mercedes pasan el resto del día juntos en una parte aislada de  Marsella  al lado del mar, nadan, hacen el amor y conversan acerca de su futuro. Mondego, en estado de ebriedad, habla con Danglars sobre la carta que Napoleón le dio a Dantés cuando estuvieron en Elba, Danglars aprovechando la situación, acusa Dantés por traición, Edmundo es arrestado y enviado ante el magistrado de la ciudad, J.F Villefort. Tras un breve interrogatorio; Villefort está seguro de la inocencia de Dantés, pero, tras descubrir que el destinatario de la carta de Napoleón es su padre, Clarion Villefort, un  bonapartista , Villefort quema la carta y, para eliminar posibles cabos sueltos, obliga al inocente Dantés a ser arrestado, e intenta enviarlo a la prisión de la  Isla de Château d'If . The Three Musketeers (Les Trois Mousquetaires) is a novel by Alexandre Dumas, père. It recounts the adventures of a young man named d'Artagnan after he leaves home to become a musketeer. D'Artagnan is not one of the musketeers of the title; those are his friends Athos, Porthos, and Aramis -- inseparable friends who live by the motto, "One for all, and all for one".<br><br> The Three Musketeers was first published in serial form in the magazine Le Siècle between March and July 1844. Dumas claimed it was based on manuscripts he had discovered in the Bibliothèque Nationale. Edmond Dantès, a young seaman with a promising future, is arrested at his wedding ceremony under calomnious charges, and locked up in the Chateau d'If for 14 years. During this time, he secretly meets another detainee, l'Abbé Faria, an erudite believed to be insane, who becomes his friend and teacher, and who, upon his death, gives Edmond the secret to a hidden treasure.<br /><br />Dantès then manages to escape, almost drowning in the process, and is believed by all to be dead. The novel begins with the 1672 politically motivated mob lynching of the de Witt brothers and then follows the story of Cornelius van Baerle, godson of Cornelius de Wit. Cornelius Van Baerle has joined the race to breed a truly black tulip – and to win the prize of 100,000 guilders, as well as fame and honour. As he nears his goal he is jailed and then of course rescued – by the beautiful Rosa, daughter of the jailer.
